Would u please tell me what did he say here about gerabox ?. 2:35. No problem on manual gearbox ,but what about powershift ?.For 8360 i read some complaining on forums about their powershift transmission, and many ppls praise TW15 instead ,for his more simpler gearbox.
@@TheSRBgamer63 He never gets much trouble out of either boxes, are you meaning a 8630 the powershift equivalent to a TW-15 if so my old man drove a 8730 and a TW-15 for a contractor and the gearbox was faultless on both except a few seals changed just incase. He used to drive the Tw all the time at the start and loved it but for shear handyness on sowing the 30 series was much better as long as you keep the gearbox calibrated.
We got 2 7840's a L reg white roof ford and P reg blue roof plastic wing newholland both SLE, also 3 10 series aswell 7810 4wd series 3 and two 7610 2wd all SQ cabs. Dads always been ford/new Holland mad. Never steered away from the 40 series they've done us proud and like you said in your vid there very straight forward tractors, I think we've had the gearbox calibrated a few times on the blue roof because it use to jump like a rabbit sometimes but its nothing major to recalibrate. Newest tractor we run is 2001 TM 150 apart from that all 90s and 80s 👌
I also run afleet of 40 series tractors 2 6640 and a 7840 all 3 have the sle transmission and electro link hydraulics great tractors wish we still had Ford tractors
True good tractors we had 5 all sle fantastic still got one s plate 7740 brilliant on fuel good loader tractor had a 8340 with over 16k on the clock still fantastic right power house check out some of my videos 👍
Know what he means I own and drive a New Holland TS 115 and they are pretty similar to the 40 series it's a simple trouble free great little tractor 👌.
A 77 without weights is horrible yes. You need a full set of weights or even better quickie loader with soft drive. Smoothest thing in the world with the soft drive.
Bought a 7840 in 1993 , been driving it up to 2010. There has not been many years that its not been in the garage. Has been split 7 times. Engine was roasted at 5500hrs. It was correctly maintained and didn't even have to do heavy work on the farm. I always have seen it as a very beautifull tractor but in the end it was garbage. Stepped away from Ford/NH because of this tractor, and after all those years i'm very happy i did.
Scream Mnky 110-90 quite nice when looked after good seat radio and air conditioning model. Ours is the lorry around the place. Only pulls out diggers and shuttering pans
@@ferguson20diesel49 Fiat has the worst seat to sit in after a long day, Also have seen a fiat able to pull up past a 7840 on a hill while the 78 was spinning but when the next field came the fiat was getting bogged in the wet stuff while the 78 was pulling through it with ease. As for problems any of the 40's i have had contact with never had any bother and in a reverse uno card the 90 series 100-90 an 110-90, were nicknamed Fix it again tomorrow because they gave so much bother, You get good ones and bad ones of every tractor ever produced it seems and i do like 110's
We had those 7740s there a horrible little yoke with no power a 7610 sq was a far superior tractor . And as for no trouble that’s rubbish the hydraulic packs will go and the damper plate we replaced our two with 60 series best thing we ever done
Some man, he drives as fast as he talks. Solid thinking on his part. Tractors he knows and lower costs.

Reminds me of my childhood knocking around a friends farm
I own one myself I have a 7840 for 20 years she has been our main tractor since 2001!
She will never stop simply the best !!!!
Used to run 4 7740s and a 78 absolutely bomb proof
Spittin' facts! This lad is brilliant 😂
Would love to own a fleet of 40 series myself
FORD IS GOLD 💪👌 SIMPLY THE BEST 👌❤️👍
I'm a Deere fan but the Ford 7840 is one of the best tractors ever built ... My neighbor has 4 of them and they just keep on running and running 👍
They are decent but the powerstar 7.5 in the 8340 never really gets much strain at the power they put out and reliable were as the 78 has a wee 6.6

I was driving a 7840 last week
I always thought the 8340 had 28s up front?
They do !
Yup bigger than the others
@@ScreamMnky doesn't look bigger though. Maybe it is but does look right for some reason
I've seen a couple on 24s . Most are on 28s !

Epic accent.😁
How do u find the transmission on them 40 series after 5000 hours
Sheldon plays Bongos fine. Sle here with just 10k hrs and it’s perfect to drive. A friend has 7840 sldp with 14k hrs and it’s also perfect fine
2 of mine have over 10000hrs the othe 6000hrs no problem
I live in Portlaoise as well
Would rather drive the longer wheel based 8340 over the pocket rocket 7740

@@ScreamMnky Still prefer the awesome 8340 much better nice big 7.5 litere piles of power and decent torque

Can't hear nothing man
110-90 always pulled better than 8340
40 nicer place to be though.

A 110 - 90 can pull better but the ford is better at everything else
Harry Leitch I like both. But I’ve had more trouble with our 2 7840 s had both models sle and sldp. Both Ecu problems

Must have been a pure dud of a 7740 you had because they pull like a train
In Minnesota 7740s are shop Tractors.
I’ve done slurry with a 7740 and a 2000 gallon tanker
Higomad had a couple of them and they were under powered and a horrible little thing to drive
