The only fault I ever had with a 399 was it had the power to go in front of a harvester but the bloody diesel tank in front of the radiator cooked them. They had some grip, good ground drive.

Nice one Tom I like the 5600. I'm guessing the high line had AdBlue when it was new but don't quote me on this, I'm usually right, I'm like an encyclopedia. I probably get away with this if nobody else comes up with a better explanation

Tom you made my day man that 399 took me back. I used to drive one myself many years back , you hit the nail on the head, they were reliable because they were basic , but a superb tractor nonetheless.I put in long hours they weren't the quietest but they were some improvement on a 188. That 399 you have there is MINT, I would be very happy to own a yoke like that one. Good luck with these sales. Some price been asked for tractors these days they seem be going up in price big time.

I think the 5600 was a less powerful version of the 6600.A replacement for the 5000

The 399 is the pick of the bunch it be hard to find another like it , we had a Q cabFord 6600 and it was a terrible under powered yoke so ide say a 5600 is a weak yoke a it didn’t look like it had dual power which would make it even worse !

If MF still made the same 300 series tractors today they would sell like hot cakes. Shame the clever Americans did their best to destroy MF in the early 2000's. The CEO at the time hated MF and they lost a lot of sales in Africa and the Middle East after Banner lane was closed.

The panel knobs are on wrong ! They should be level to the rear when closed and up straight to open! I think it's around 1995 as she has the side ram PS.

Is that a French built 133? If it is, it will have a four forward speed high low box, but it will also have the 37.5 HP AD3.144 Perkins engine, rather than the 45.5 HP AD3.152 that was in the 135s. The Coventry built 133s were an economy version of a 135, same as a 135 but without a dual clutch, and with a Lambourn 'canvas' cab rather than the standard cabs on the 135s.

That is an extremely nice 399, I will buy one , one day , unfortunately not financially feasible for me yet and issue is they are only getting dearer

Difference between the AP & Fritzemeir...The APs were found on the 10 Series Fords while the Fritzemeir was mostly on the 7A 600 Series Fords ..Fritzemeirs were never sold on Fords assembled in Basildon England due to UK noise regulations then. Fritzemeirs were found on Fords assembled in Antwerp Belgium. I have seen some early 10 Series Gen 1s with the Fritzemeirs also ..
