Jules making Puritan Dillon uncomfortable for the first time. 29:04
The cork is a mini Tahona stone. It’s designed after the stone they use to crush their agave. Best cork in the game.
Recent bottles have had a different cork. The bottle is slightly different as well.
@@pickleeater3102my understanding is that the tops were produced in Ukraine. Given the current situation there, ET had to pivot.
@andrewdessert987 I really don't know how to respond; I mean, I have no reason to doubt you. A Mexican tequila producer sourcing their vessels from Ukraine seems odd, is all. Truth truly is stranger than fiction.
I still have my bottle (XA 5yr Paradiso) from 14/11/2020, best I’ve had when I started sipping. I got a 2023 bottle in NYE after searching for years but threw the bottle away. Wish I had to compare the bottles.
Another great video! El Tesoro validates Dillon’s anti repo/Anejo stance completely. But Siete Leguas and El Tequileno have a lot to offer in those expressions. It’s hard to take one stance for all brands.
Great video guys!! For a video idea, "Tequila Ocho Drinkthrough" would be sick!
Solid brand throughout. The only ones I don't have are the Paradiso and Knob Creek Mundial edition. My biggest gripe I have with El Tesoro isn't really a gripe....but the Extra Anejo is probably the best edition, even over the 85th Anniversary, which I find somewhat flat. Completely agree about the repo not standing out when the blanco seems like a Tequila standard.
Always waiting for your reviews. Love drinkthroughs!! Building my Tequila and Bourbon collections from all your great reviews!!!!
Great video!!! I'm the guy begging for the Balvenie Drinkthrough (TM) every week, still here 😂. I am somewhat amazed by the fact that Balvenie has essentially made zero appearances on this channel. It's widely available, quality juice. Maybe throw it in the ring the next time you do a 12 yr or 15yr blind? Cheers gentlemen ! Love the channel and content
Just face it; your choice of whisky is swine piss.😮😂
I kid, I kid. Seriously though......no one likes it.😅
YES! Another TEQUILA video!! I got my tequila glasses ready! 🥃
These guys are hilarious, obviously turtle t is the dominant one and the other two try to neutralize him. 😂.
Watching them review tequila or spare, (I know already what I like), it's good fun. 😊
Love the drinkthroughs👍, helps me decide which 1-2 to buy when i venture in to a new line 👍👏
I have an El Tesoro store pic Repp that is straight fire. Going to bunker a couple more bottles. Can't beat for 55 bucks.
Its 2° in NW Indiana right now; which means it's whisk(e)y weather. However, this video has given me dreams of summertime. Thanks and slainte from the tundra!
Cool flight. I agree with your guys assessment and that colorful paradiso is delicious. I got a couple lot C’s 2014’s left luckily. The old school ETOO (olive oil) bottles are amazing too. If you get to try an old Denton blanco or that muy anejo it’s insane. 👍🏽
Love your vids guys, good job saludos from Guadalajara Jalisco.
Nice Drinkthrough! These are great pours! I have a reposado store pick (60.00) that’s incredible!
Here in Canada, Qc, the Blanco went from 70CAN to 125!! I guess I won't be drinking El Tesoro ever again. Treasure indeed.
BTW, the red label of the reposado is supposed to be the same color as the red volcanic soil of their estates.

I would think Mezcals with the peñas cooked in the ground over fire is the true "gateway" into agave spirits in general for a smokey Scotch fan.
You forgot the new mundial versions recently released. Great video as always!!
I just saw Volcan de mi Tierra XA for sale at my Total Wine. $180+ 😫! But definitely one of my top 3.
When I learned about the El Tesoro aged in used Laphroaig barrels I was very doubtful about that. For one thing I don’t like Scotch that much, and Laphroaig is very strong and peaty.
However the Knob Creek edition is aged in used Rye barrels instead of Bourbon, which is very unique. Since Rye is more peppery and spicy than Bourbon I’m going to say it will make for a much more peppery and less sweet añejo Tequila.
I'm a peat head and I'm with Dillon on the Laphroaig cask Tesoro. I do not see this one as a gateway for peat heads to go into Tequila. Mezcal does that quite well. I wasn't able to get any peat on the nose or palate when I cracked it. I guess it's time to revisit this bottle.
Almost boycotted your channel when you misspelled Laphroaig but we all make mistakes....LOL. Great review guys. Would like to see a blind of Fortaleza core range against the three ET bottles. I'm a closet tequila drinker. Absolutely HAS to be the right moment to indulge. Go to is Scotch and then some bourbon. Cheers.
Idk who THAT GUY is but I hope ya’ll know “Drinkthrough” concept isn’t why your channel is special. I watch you for your dynamic AND perspective. New peeps may do more drinkthroughs but they will not be DJD.
Definitely one of my favorite brands. I must admit, though, that my Single Barrel Total Wine California reposado is one of my least favorite expressions. I was tempted to get the Old Town Tequila edition but didn't want to pay what they were asking. But all together, a great and decently priced tequila.
Top 5 brand for sure!
I can say i enjoy the repo. Im a biurbon guy 350 bottles deep in collection. Just stepping into tequila and for me is a good balance on my way to a pure blanco drinker. Not an anejo fan to me if i want a bourbon barrel aged product im drinking bourbon.
I love repos
Should have included the Knob Creek Mundial vesion too!! I have them all and only one I dont like is the Laphroaig peaty one!
Oh this will be fun
Try the Robert Denton import el tesoro vs the new el tesoro.. your going to have the same reaction you had with the new and old Paradiso, also you guys are missing the 70th- 75th -80th and 85th Anniversary bottles .. batch 001 extra anejo if you can get a hold of one is pretty special, aged 4-5 yrs and was distilled by Carlos's dad if I'm not mistaken
When will you do a Glenfiddich drinkthrough
I like they have differnces and some debate.. most reviews are all the same.. these guys are not on the same page or at least differences.. thats good,..
@CuriosityPublic , as I know you are aware, the old Paradiso will not resemble the current lineup due to many factors: ie agave age, brix levels, yeast type, barrels, water, cooking, distillation, etc..... To bad you didn't have bottles (ETWL or ETOO) from the same era as the old Paradiso. Perhaps there would of been more of an agave connection⁉️🤷♂️
El Tesoro is one of my favorites. In general I prefer blancos.
I wish the Tequila prices here in Chicago were as good as you guys can get them for. XA here is $150!!
Who is the other guy they speak of? I'm new to the channel
I’ve tried it and I disagree as well ! I love the first batch they brought out Witch was in a the old bottle .. and the fusion was perfectly balanced and had something about it that was musty but agave finish
What about the XA 85th anniversary bottle it’s so cheap right now. Wish I would’ve seen it here for the review
Can you guys do a starlight drink through?
I came across a limited edition el Tesoro reposado for a Costco location in Los Angeles. Does anyone know about this?
Fabulous Tequila!
The El Tesoro Repo is my go to for Margaritas. Good review. Going to be looking for that Extra Anejo. Also, I have a Single Barrel Reposado at 80.4 proof. The Sigle Barrel was a limited edition that was available at Navy liquor stores.
No way I'm putting a 65 dollar tequila in a margarita. But that's me.
@@thomascrompton7775 $65???? I get it for $30 at the local military exchange. The Blanco is $20 and the anejo is $40. I picked up a case last year, so I have plenty on hand.
went yo a Mexican restaurant yesterday. Asked if they had any reposado tequila. dude spoke english but acted as though he had no idea what i was talking about. it was weird
If it is distributed by Beam-Suntory wouldn't be aged in those barrels?
Id like the reviews to be a little more straight to the point ty
They recently changed the bottle design on the blanco and I wish they didn’t…
Even the blue bottle is nothing like it use to be. Late 90's it was fire!!!
Picked up the extra anejo tonight.. yeah, it's so agave forward for an extra anejo. I tired it next to 3 Amigos (not a great brand but additive free and cheap) and the 3 Amigos was SO much less agave forward. Hell, also picked up a G4 Blanco and poured that next to the El Tesoro extra anejo and the El Tesoro has more strong blanco agave flavor than G4 Blanco. I'm new to Tequila but G4 Blanco is very mid. Similar to your blind results I find it to be no where near as good as Tequila Ocho. I might even prefer Tres Agavez blanco over G4. I even like the presentation of Tres Agavez better than G4. G4 has no style.
rey sol review pls
Quoting John Milton are you? Author of "Paradise Lost". English author. Intellectual Curiosity
Time stamp 28:56 LOLz!
yeah - I'm surprised I got that past Dillon's Puritanical censorship.
Wish they made a still strength
Agreed!
Ahhh, Fortaleza still strength is my favorite. Pity it's unobtanium nowadays.
If you can find it… Try Villa Lobos® «BLANCO» Distillation Strength ! It comes from the same NOM 1139 - La Alteña 🤤
It’s a collab project by the master distiller Carlos Camarena & his family with Dale Sklar & his company, Wine & Spirits International.
According to the brand, they distill to near 40%. So it pretty much is still strength. If you're looking for higher proof from the same distillery, Tapatio 110 is fantastic.
Curious as to why a 5 year tequila is so much lighter than say an American whiskey? I would have thought the hotter climate of Mexico would darken the spirit significantly. Maybe I’m missing something..
Reused barrels.
I have found all the older expressions to have too much bubblegum. Was not a fan of Paradiso sadly
For me the anejo have a very pronounced fennel seed flavor and really ruins it for me.
It's the fifth element😂
Multipass!
