5:13 there’s an unlock button right above the compass on the map that you can use to lock/unlock doors without putting park. Great vid and glad your enjoying you new Y Performance!
Awesome video! I previously owned a Model 3 & sold it for a Bronco Badlands 2.3L Manual… Less than 3 months later, I’m trading the Bronco in for the Tesla Model Y. 😂 I’m back!!
I had the same issue with the doors being locked while dropping my kid off at school. Realized instead of putting it in park and unlocking the doors you can hold the right scroll wheel down. Then just tell the car to unlock the doors, doesn’t need to be in park as long as you’re at a stop and have “hold” enabled.
Nice video. Btw there’s a lock icon at the top of the screen that you can press to unlock the doors without putting the car in park. You’ll get a warning tone when the passenger door opens but if you’re stationary the car will remain in drive. If you’re in the driver’s seat and open your door while stationary the car will automatically go into Park.
I recently test drove both the Model 3 LR and the Model Y, and both cars are very good, but the Model Y is really kind of ‘boaty’ especially on the highway. The Model 3 felt extremely tight and maneuverable. I ordered a Model 3.
Those diamond stitched floor mats look great! My Colorado mountain driving has to deal with a lot of snow, ice and mud during winter and early spring so I'll probably get both and switch them back and forth based on season. Thanks for some great tips. Cheers.
👍 Keep / Dog Mode for teens who want to stay in the car when the adults leave ... Truth. Nice accessories recommendations. I wrapped ours in PPF also and blacked out all the chrome. The only "bad" I've encountered with ours (when compared to our nicer i.c.e.) is the seats. Tesla doesn't make luxury seat throughout . . . Great vid!

Or you can just tap the little unlock button at the top of the screen….I’m always learning something new
You can also unlock the doors by pressing park a second time
I believe you can press and hold the door open button for 3-5 seconds to unlock or lock the car too. :)

How ist the suspension? often heard it is very stiff? How does it compare to your prev. Cars?
Yes it is stiffer than most cars, but sports suspensions usually are. Its not an issue
I agree with Chip. I love my MYP. However, test drive the performance version as not everyone likes a firm suspension.

I was going to do some PPF but decided against it after cost. I’ll just touch up rock chips as they come….have a few small ones already
PPF has prevented it so far & comes with a 10 year warranty.

@@jedcsh1 mine came without the spoiler…..it was on back order. They came out a month later and put it on. It’s so small you really don’t notice it
