Out of everything I’ve fixed on my Z replacing the window roller was by far the most annoying and frustrating of them all. Lining up the three tracks was an absolute nightmare since I forgot to remove the external trim on the top rail. I’m pretty sure all my neighbors heard me curse for two hours straight lol. Keep up the good work, really enjoy your content.

Another great video , I just searched the web for Nissan 300ZX for sale in South Africa and only like 4 popped up , one guy was selling hid 1993 Nissan Fairlady 300zx for R265000 ( almost $14k ) , so finding one by me is rare . The guy who is selling it stays in Pretoria while Im in Durban . just an interesting fact from half way round the world. and its a convertible too
I had to replace the drivers side window motor on my Z. Of course I did it in the middle of Summer and that black urethane holding the vapor seal was so nasty when I took it off. Yes I ruined a pair of pants as well. Great video!
I rolled mine up most of the way and could get the two nuts off the windows without removing the speaker or seatbelt. There are two access holes you can get to them.
I just want to note that you should be careful of blowing the hole too much as you can make yourself extra work if those have hoses in the pillars and if they get knocked off by shooting too much air.
to replace the top roller only, can you just take the upper pillar trim off that covers the track, then roll the window up and use a pliers to unscrew and replace the old roller?
You could if you have good pliers I reckon you can. I attempted that the first time I replaced one and didn't have luck so I've always opted to pulling the glass since. I usually do the full roller kit but prices have gotten outrageous lately for small parts for the z32.
I had these rollers installed today. A few weeks ago I put new seals around the door and t-top seals, on both sides. And both sides are still leaking in at the carwash. Does anyone else have this problem? Ran a wire to make sure the t-top drains were not plugged. Maybe the drains were just overloaded by the massive amounts of water at a touchless carwash?

What seals did you go with? Blaster z or oem?

@06:38 that is a 10mm nut/screw from factory. someone def been in there and used wrong hardware for that window trim.
