Good choices by your wife. If MY wife had to pick stuff i'd be dead within 12 hours. Frozen, starved all while dressed in a nice T-shirt, flip-flops and a hat.
If you find a flat rock lay it flat in front of you and you can grind the top lip down flush on your can, rubbing it in a circle till you see juice on the rock then simply pop the top offf. Old hobo trick a old timer taught me.
Trashbags are really a great survival item. Not only are they great for making shelters (though tarps are better). They also can be used as a water proof jacket. They can be filled to make a mattress. They also do hold water (as long as they don't have scent)
I started watching because I enjoyed you guys living off the land. I still enjoy watching you do all of the stuff that you do. Thanks for taking us along with you.
My dad used to rub the whole top of the can on a flat rock. It would grind down that lip at the top and eventually the lid comes off. If you do it right, it sands down the edge and you can use the can as a cup!
Courtney did a good job at getting things that would challenge your ingenuity.loved the video dude and that shelter was awesome thanks for taking us along Chris.😊☮️
Two ways to open a can. First the top is just a folded lip. Rub the top on a flattish rock until you can see the seams, and then you can pop it right off. Second put that lip on a straight edge, then hit the can downward, basically trying to pop the lip/lid off.

Courtney had your best interests at heart, she thought through all the items before purchase...😂😅 The Hot Wheels rod was slow to develop, but did it ever! Love what you're doing 😊
Personally, I would have been very cautious with how hot that fire burns, considering you had it over a tree root, which can catch fire (especially in Canada where they've made it so you have to have elevated fires for that reason). Otherwise, I'm really impressed with your ingenuity and creativity with the different materials she gave you. And that barb wire was some good luck right there. Good for shelters, like yours, good for tying (somewhat) things, good for making tools, making weapons, other structures like a raft if you're near water, etc. If you're surviving out there long term, what I would do is make a bat house and put it on the border of my camp so they eat the mosquitos. And you wouldn't have to worry about them flying into your tent because of how you have it set up. Awesome video, really enjoyed it.
Great video totally love it 🤣 you should make part 2 going to the same place and see if that shelter still there, using the material you got left. And craft something to hunt with.
