My Grandpa was a old school trucker.
Used a long crowbar to change tires on his rig.
My brother and I were little kids, so to save a little time on his hands he had us air up a new tire for him.
Me and my brother were scared straight thinking that tire will blow up in our faces at 70 lbs of air.
My grandpa laughed so hard watching us checking the gauge every 5 seconds.

Thank God someone asked that question. I work in the US Army as a Construction Equipment Repairer and always used a cage on every tire I worked on minus the Cat 621 Scrapers and Hough 100C 5 yard loaders, too big for a cage so a D7 Dozer blade was used as a shield. When I went out into the trucking industry, that is where I got to see the power of a cage. Zipper ruptures at 110 psi are not fun at all. Hope you all stay safe out there and never have a tire failure while inflating. A 22.5-inch tire at 70 psi explosive force can launch a 16 lbs bowling ball half a mile. The human head weighs only 8 Lbs. I am sure you can do that math. Also, single-piece rims are safer than multi-piece and K series times but still, a tire sidewall failure is not safe at all regardless of the rim type.

Nice tool! So is the golden rod! But I've never jerked the air outta tire! It would hurt! Anyway it DOES work great on a truck tire! But on a passenger car tire you'll never break the bead off the rim that easy cause car tire sidewall are too soft ply! That the main problem DISMOUNTING a car tire!

If you bend or break this tool's handle you are either using it wrong, less of a chance. Or, you left it laying down and ran it over with a vehicle. I used one in a 30 bay truck shop for 3 years changed more than a fair share of tires with it and I was a mechanic not one of the two tire techs. In a week I would say 200 to 300 tires changed in a SWIFT fleet. I just talked to the Tech and I worked in Syracuse, NY shop from 2002 to 2005 and he is still using that same golden tool from back then. Great tool for over the road trucks. Not so great for my military vehicles I maintained.
