My pre loved Chanel medium bag broke and lost the ring that holds the shoulder chain. I went to Chanel in Orlando, they treated me with so much respect, regardless…they said it’s wonderful to see their product…took me to the private section while they fixed and replaced the part. Hand it back to me after they got it cleaned too.
the first thing i bought at Chanel was a jacket, not a bag. so many people have 5+ Chanel bags but no clothes. i guess Chanel wanted to get rid of the ‘Zara basics + Chanel bag’ crowd, which is fine by me.
Lets not forget that they did not just keep raising their bag prices but have kept raising their clothing prices as well… to the point where their apparel also costs more than any reason might justify… alas…
@@SuperDacob correct. but all the crowds in line outside the stores wanted were the bags in order to have a status symbol. for the price of a bag you were able to buy a jacket but they did not.
It is so refreshing to hear you received top notch service at Chanel. Beautiful buttons!! The silk bow is so pretty. It is so great you didn't have to line up...standing in long lines is not luxurious. You look so elegant today Dacob.
The RTW for most fashion houses is the crown jewel of the designer. I had worked corporate for a French luxury house, I’ll never forget how they knew and broke down the different customers in their boutiques. The RTW client was always the most sought after and, if they bought cruise collections as well they were the apple of their eye. I’m not surprised as a RTW client you were given a great experience.
This is how luxury brands need to act by offering great customer service and stand behind their products. Happy to see Chanel being kind and respectful to you. I have no problem paying more to get that kind of great service.
i find it sad that people think they're part of a non-leather luxury house by buying a bag. specially when they have no style, let alone the house's style. it goes haute couture, rtw, bags, shoes, perfumes (and beauty), sunglasses - unless the brand started with something other than couture. if you buy sunglasses to be "part of a brand", you're crazy. it was probably made by luxottica and never seen by the creative director.
Love to hear about people's great customer service experiences. So much of our lives we spend complaining about little petty things. Wonderful to hear about times the experience went right.
wish you'd remember what i commented months ago: "for couture houses, that is the product, RTW is the consolation prize and bags are who knows what made by who knows whom who knows where". the modern fashion house hierarchy is very clear about what is a brand product and what is a souvenir: if someone decides they are part of an haute-couture house by buying a bag, that't part of their collective wishful thinking.
quality is paramour (even for these luxury brands like ysl that LICENSE their perfumes or all the others "paris" brands who produce everything leather in italy), but sometimes it's not achieved. maybe we'll give the benefit of the doubt to chanel, and say that they got too greedy with the growth spur and also couldn't keep up with high demand. please tell us when their leather goes back to decent.
a friend got a cashmere scarf from hermès and it started forming those little balls. what does hermès know about cashmere? the loro piana scarf was €20 cheaper.
it's like a restaurant. we have to go to brands for what they made a mark on - i like it that you stressed that point. once we went to a seafood place, great food. my mother ordered pasta, it was awful. to this day we laugh... at my mother, not at the restaurant.
Dacob, I LOVE hearing this. Your experience makes me so happy and I am encouraged to delve into some of Chanel’s products. My grandmother was a Chanel woman through and through and I love enjoying the luxury world as a way to remember her. I have a medium classic flap with a loose stitch. My SA said it was an easy fix and to bring it the next time I am in. Hearing your take on bag repairs gives me pause…at least if I try to get it repaired, I have received fair warning that it may not come back as I’m hoping. Thank you, Dacob. This was an awesome video. ❤
Went in today and had excellent service. SA took her time. I wanted to try the new small coco crush bracelet. Loved it. Bought only a wallet. I’ll be back for the bracelet.
Chanel in Australia doesn’t offer invite for sales unless you are VIP - and the vip status is different from year to year - for example I was Chanel customer for around 20 years- but if I didn’t buy any of the clothes but just shoes in the last year - I haven’t spent enough to be invited to the sales
I love Chanel clothes. I have a few skirts and a vintage cardigan. Not a huge collection by any means, but they add a lot to my overall wardrobe. Also, in their bags I like tweed. They are fun, playful and always highlight outfits
What are your thoughts on the tweed bags‘ quality? These are the ones that I also like, but people complain about the declining quality of the leather bags and I wonder if I should jump in before the next price increase.

Good to know that in the US Chanel has been more laid back. Not necessarily so in Paris after New Years 2024 specifically Galleries Lafayette. Although the queue was quite bearable with just 10 mins of waiting due to the fact that tourists have no idea that the boutique was relocated, the CA was still a pain rushing to make a sale. Stocks for 24C are pretty low perhaps its after the holidays, no Christmas packaging, the ribbon used for the box was the thin one, no 24C catalogue and whats weird is that you cannot try on the mini 22. By far my worst experience at Chanel in all the different countries I bought Chanel from! 😠
Oh dear, I am sorry you got bad service there but it does not surprise me… why would one shop at Galleries Lafayette at all anymore? Too touristy and superficial in my opinion. One could not possibly expect deep service there. At least I would not expect it nor would I look for it there. It gives me major tourist trap vibes in my opinion.
Went to the recent V&E exhibition and wow was amazed! Incredible to admire the beautiful work of Gabrielle Coco Chanel, the heritage of Chanel is definitely their couture and ready to wear, timeless and elegant. 🖤🖤
I Have a great SA and have many RTW pieces. I only get the pieces that I can wear as much as possible. I have a few tweed jackets, some knitwear and pants- So far so good. 🤞🏻
I think I'm getting the same feeling with you. Since covid started I've never had a good shopping experience at Chanel. I even vowed not to enter the main boutique at my local location ever again. Only recently Chanel opens a new store in Saks and the SA was super friendly to me. The shopping experience was great too.
I just got a gorgeous COCO Handel in the small size, Caviar with the burgundy handle 'lizard" embossed style, so a throwback to a vintage style from the 2024 pre fall collection. It's burgundy inside too and its gorgeous. I got a mini coco flap last year too and some RTW, perfume, costume jewellery, shoes, and happy with it all...
Just returned from a trip to Singapore, Malaysia and Dubai and also…no lines at Chanel and very chill, enjoyed my shopping experience much more 😀. Wish they would make the 2.55 in jersey once more🙋🏻♀️
And I have another experience. In May 2023 I bought a jacket in London, but in wrong size. A seamstress from my local boutique adjusted my jacket (1week) and I got extra buttoms. Perfect .
Hi Dacob, I went in Chanel on December and I had same experience. It was pleasure to be there. I tried on a few RTW p. and I bought 4 pieces. I met fabulous SA. Joy🎉
NGL I wanted to scoff at the positivity for this brand. But hearing how they took care of you was very nice. I wish all the heritage brands would go back to a time where they took time with the customer. Ever since the brands started catering to influencers it feels very fast. Last time I was in Chanel in 2019 in Beverly Hills the SA was rushing for a sale. That experience didn’t feel like luxury.
I was in Chanel in Toronto December 28, 2023 and had great service. There was no one in the store. Lots of inventory. Sales associate was very attentive. She let me browse and then was right there when I wanted to buy items. I was offered water and she showed me all the items I wanted to see. She gave me her card too and told me to call her if I needed anything else. I left the store pleased and a bit surprised because I have been there before and it was very transactional, no trying to build a relationship. I think it’s because that many people are no longer shopping.
All good points. I love Chanel bags for the fun looks and colors. But I also know they are just for fun and not longevity. Fortunately for me, I have not had any bag issues yet. They do have really nice clothes though. I love their tweed. And you are correct about the quality and craftsmanship. The other brands don’t do fashion the same as Chanel does fashion. Also, I have not seen long lines at Chanel in at least this past year. Not even for drop days. But the boutique was packed for 24p drop. There was a line outside and SAs were all busy. I’m glad to see you happy with Chanel again 😊
They may not want it to be like a supermarket with people lining up, but it’s garbage either way. Even my bestie who works for Chanel won’t own it, Chanel staff laugh at how people are readily willing to hand over all that money for cheap quality materials put together poorly- even the staff agree🤣🤷 at this point the price increase is just greed, but you know they’re literally laughing all the way to the bank. I’ll stick with Hermes, Moynat and Delvaux, hands down.
@4lb280 I call bullsh*t. Your bestie probably can't own it. What do they make a year as a sales associate? Unless of course, they still live with mom. Do you think we give 2 shits if sales people laugh at us? An item is worth what a buyer is willing to pay. How is it any of your or your "bestie's" business how one spends THEIR money? Chanel isn't exactly poor quality. So you can stop the snobbery. Moynat and Delvaux? What are you 100?
Could you do a video the classic tweed Chanel little jacket? Getting ready to purchase one this coming fall on a upcoming trip to Paris and would love your take on it, thank you
I love how you brought up LV fashion I love their luggage but clothing is hideous. It’s not about the fabrics, they don’t make one piece of clothing without massive logo its very obvious what the strategy is at LV RTW
I don't buy at Chanel because I can't affort it but I by everything at Max Mara here in Italy, and I get the same service you get at chanel, yes this is luxury . Bags I buy at Hermes and also I get an ecxellent service there
Totally agree with you! That’s what I have been saying to all my friends for the last 4 years! I only by RTW from them ( sometimes don’t have a big budget)- but I got the best quality and the best service! Chanel is a fashion brand! Not a leather band! Give them a chance in something they are good and famous for, and you will be thrilled!
I can’t agree with you more, my experiences to date at Chanel boutique has always been great but start of this year, it’s been even better! The boutique is quieter and I’ve been able to spent a lot of time with my SA and it’s been such amazing experiences each time. She never ‘force’ me to buy anything but I always ended up leaving with something cause I guess it’s my experiences there with them. Love it! It will be a dream for me to own a beautiful Chanel tweed jacket. One day!
I just watched a video from last season were the influencers were going to the fashion show, I was really surprised how some of the outfits including the bags looked cheap , meanwhile I saw a lot of beautiful dressed women too!
I'm glad you made this video. Good to know about the clothes. I've been waiting to lose 30lbs before I buy an outfit. I've been wanting a tweed suit for sooooo long. But I need to be skinny to drop that kind of money on something so nice. At least I know that if I do, the item will come with the luxury experience you'd expect and get from other serious clothing brands.
While sounds lovely, there are shenanigans in the clothing as well…like glued sequins and no amount of comfort while shopping would justify a failing in quality and this from someone who geeks over their tweeds.I don’t think they did any of this for the customer experience.
What a great true luxury experience! That is what I hope for and never experienced. I wonder if this experience will continue or maybe it is because you have such a dedicated SA and a long purchase history. Will they provide such service to someone newer to Chanel’s brand?
Yes, noticed same in Dior and other brands even in Christmas and NY period in Dubai. Half people in comparing with last year. But the assortiment is less now
A sales associate at LV told me that LV and Chanel get their leather from the same tannery.... So LVMH purchased the tannery and now Chanel only gets the 'left overs' 😅 *all alleged, not rooted in truth or fact* 🤣
You do not need to make an appointment to visit the boutique. You can walk in but Paris might experience more traffic so be ready to maybe have to wait in front of the boutique a bit before entering. Paris is very tourist heavy.
There is something about Chanel that frightened me. I think it is the strict siluette resembling a uniform, the area it developed from with strict repressed women who grew resentful towards their children when they sacrificed work with staying at home when their men became unfateful or exchanged them out all together. It is something about the heritage that just makes Chanel very scary to me. From reading about Chanel Gabriel and it does not seem she was a pleasant human being either. The prices reflecting so much greed without good quality or aftercare also makes it scary.
Great way to bring us back to central …. CHANEL does NOT covet leather as you say. I only wonder if you got better treatment based on your purchase history? I need buttons for a dress. Wondering if they would indeed help me the same way? I have only purchased a few items from boutique ( collect vintage clothing) You have given me the idea of trying 😍😉😉😉
Im not a Chanel customer. Is it possible to ask SA when there will be a discount of their cloth? I admire jewelry and chanel cloth. Probably buy it if i've found something that can go with my style. Im a Celine customer. They fix my cloth and do alteration for my size. For the bag if i buy from them , they will fix it. Never had any problem with their bags yet. We shouldn't throw away our cloth easily. Fast fashion damage this world too much already. I love the blue bow you've got. Super cute.
Fast fashion definitely damages our planet and climate. I agree. Chanel does two sales a year, usually around December/January and June/July but they sometimes do not make sales public or do not place all sale items for sale publicly. They sometimes offer sales to select customers. If you are near a Chanel fashion boutique it does not hurt to ask them if they have public sales around January or July. They might say no, but at least one can politely ask. 💖
Chanel, to me, has always been makeup and perfume first, clothes second and the rest afterwards. Chanel can be really classy and beautiful, some of their not so logo heavy pieces or not so granny-esque pieces are to die for but the rest, yeah, tacky. Chanel is the Zara of high end fashion.
One time I was at Chanel in Monaco and this was terrible- Balenciagas staff was very welcoming and professional though. About Chanel though I haven’t seen such not cold but freezing behaviour from the staff. Such soulless place. One of the sales people I asked about a specific colour- this was the worst behaviour from a sales person I have experienced- he seemed eastern european that seemed that he thought he was a big deal was so gross the whole way of his behaviour. One lady told me this your shopping assistant After experiencing his “niceness” and the boredom which he wasn’t hiding I was like I wanna leave this place where they hired rude and snobbish individuals he didn’t seem to realise that he is a serving staff and he will be replaced just like that if they decide to.😂with one snapp! The sales people there are either very miserable or very rude people. I don’t have another explanation for that. The terrible impression will not be changed!
I used to get that treatment from Cartier in Melbourne for my watch and reptile band until staff changed and Asians employed and it was awful. No service in effect.
Interesting way to put it. Chanel is Fashion, Louis is Canvas, Hermes is for leather… I like that analogy.❤❤❤
Yes, thats my motto when buying these brands. Stick to what they are really good at. ♥️

If it's true, maybe LVMH increased the prices for Chanel 😅
Oh that is very interesting… and I wonder if it is true…
dacob do you know when monaco cruise 23 is gonna go on sale? dying for my racing suit !!!!!!!
Should go on sale this summer… around June/July… but not sure if their apparel will go on public sale or if it will only be kept for private sale.
Dacob i am going back to Paris in March. Do i need to make an appointment to visit their store or can i just walk in?
This is the way their treatment of customers should always be. Perhaps they sent the SA's to a training class.
Por Dios, claro que tienen que empezar ser atentos con sus clientes, de lo contrario tendran que comer sus bolsos y sus productos ellos mismos
You are right. The houses have their specialized skills and products. I'm taking notes and following your advice. 👍🏼🫶🏽❤
Wugo, wugo. Chanel, the Return. Chanel, forever.
Dacob, what are your thoughts on Chanel tweed bags? Do you have any information about their quality?
I have a hunch that Chanel is watching your videos.
@@SuperDacob i will give try. ❤️
Hows chanel beauty products?
Im totally a zara+ chanel bag kind of girl. Cause Im not rich. Im a pohka playa poverty kind of ho.
Very informative…
I wish I could wear Chanel clothes but they never carry my size, I’m plus size 😢
This is a nice view point.
They won’t earn less ever! Chanel is Chanel period💫
Merci

LV is good also for shoes I hope
The people buying the Chanel handbags just want to show off they can't afford the clothes.
😊 the luxury vibe: when I go to my Saab dealer and he advices me on how to maintain and restore my 20 year old Saab Cabrio ❤️❤️❤️ priceless for me
I used to get that treatment from Cartier in Melbourne for my watch and reptile band until staff changed and Asians employed and it was awful. No service in effect.
