The new version to me smells like a bright warm breezy summer afternoon, while the old version smells like a foggy early autumn morning because of the dense soil note.

I wrote my comment part way through while watching the video. Yes, “Cristalle is no longer a smoker.” That ashtray thing was EXACTLY the thing I detested in Cristalle before! Yes! Thank you for helping me put it together. It was too of the earth and had a lingering essence from something toxic. Yes, an ashtray made damp! At least how I experienced it on my skin and made it a no go for me. I know others may wear it differently. Beige on me is wet paper towels with the scent of my elementary school harsh powdered soap combined on me. On my supervisor, it was beautiful!

I'm intrigued!! I'm going to try this one soon at the Chanel Beauty Boutique. I was never that crazy about the EDP. I'm with you Dacob, on the melon note in the original EDP...not a big fan of it. I'm a lover of the EDT, but the notes sound so pretty in this new EDP. The honeysuckle and iris is reeling me in.
Its more mellow now but in my opinion in a good way 🥰

Hi Dacob, After watching your live recording and seeing that you like Chanel Cristalle so much, I purchased my first Cristalle Eau de Toilette spray, Cristalle Eau Verte Eau de Parfum spray, and COCO Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense. I received them 2 days ago. I love them all! But, between the Cristalle Toilette and Parfum, I like the Cristalle Parfum more. My next purchase will be Gabrielle Essence Eau de Parfum. The new version of Chistalle edp could get more depth when layered with Miss Dior original edt(not pink one). It really works on me.

I'll keep an open mind regarding Cristalle's reformulation. I believe I will always love the heftier,soil scent of the predecessor. Luckily, I hoarded a few bottles. It is nice to know the reformulation was nicely done. 😃

Hi friend, after having watched and re watched a 100 times this precious video, I eventually bought it!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 And I absolutely adore it, this jasmine/iris combination is divine, and I see it as a rebirth of the fragance, like, almost giving the aging and lonely Coco a second chance...❤❤❤

Omg seriously darling the way you described the new bottle version, I need to order. Everything you mentioned airy, fresh sunkissed laundry smells is right up in my alley. I love N 5 L’eau so much during spring and summer. Not the OG ashtray accord vibe that I’m not fond of. My mom and grandma were chain smokers and I’m a 17 year cancer survivor. That kind of smell don’t appeal to me. But this new flanker is something that I think I will enjoy. I love citrus and fresh cut grass. Always uplifts my mood. I love your golden girls analogy. I can only imagine Blanche not wearing that. She’s the “walk of shame” kind of gal. I wonder what Dorothy and Sophia would wear? 😂😂😂You look fabulous my love 😍

Great review. I have the chance to have purchased over Christmas both the new Cristalle EDP and the new Cristalle Eau Verte EDP. Love them both and your review is spot on as always. Cristalle is the year round floral, fizzy, airy companion while Eau Verte is more for summer and reminds me slightly of Eau de Rochas before it was massacred. Can’t wait for your review

When I smelled the new bottle, much of the sadness and melancholy seemed gone. My memory of the old edp was “do you believe in life after love?” I wasn’t getting that from the new bottle.
bought the new EDP and I am new to Cristalle. Glad I liked it as I blind bought this new EDP. Just decided to try and get my hands on the old EDT + EDP for comparison!!! Will be interesting to discover all these scents differences for sure. Hope I will like the old versions too.

A little unrelated story i guess, when i smelled chanel cristalle edp in the new packaging somehow i was a bit taken a back by it, not because it smelled bad, but because of how elegant it is … a class act of a fragrance and i was somewhat shocked because why did i didn’t buy it previously and miss out on cristalle before ? Surprisingly to me the older EDP (thx God the SA had an older edp tester still on display with the new edp) smelled somewhat much more perfume-y and less airy more dense almost oily like green oils, still fresh but it lacks that laundry that is still damp that is being dried in the morning sun kind of feel … from that point on i realize that i have to have it and plus with the new packaging it is finally cristalle-ine looking and everything fell perfect for me … the only thing is i promise to myself that i would only buy this fragrance once i have my own apartment / house so wish me luck u guys ❤❤❤

I think I like Olivier Polge’s take and nose better than any of his predecessors except Ernest Beaux. I mean no one at Chanel could outdo Ernest Beaux! He was the founder of the house’s classics from which most all of the perfumes to follow were born. Fragments from Beaux’s foundation seem to find their way into all of the Chanel’s to follow. I have not tried this new version of Cristalle, but am now tempted! I did not love Cristalle much before. A little fuzzy fluffiness sounds like an improvement to me. It makes sense to me that Olivier Polge was a musician prior to becoming a perfumer like his father. Many of his perfumes seem like a delicate part of a masterpiece symphony that transports you! I feel his work brings a heavenly quality that elevates. I am a huge fan and will truly cry when he leaves!

I'll have to try it because I have a bottle of the Jacques Polge Cristalle eau de parfum in the same monolith bottle. I could never wear it. It was too aggressive... too abrasive... like fingernails on a chalkboard. I never did think of it as a chypre because it lacked the oakmoss. Michael Edwards' Fragrances of the World calls it a "Crisp Citrus". Maybe. It's a tough one because of the hyacinth-tinged honeysuckle accord. For me, it's a green floral. Tough one. Lovely review... looking forward to trying the new one.
The 70’s edt is the actual chypre. The 90’s edp is like a 90’s version of an echo of a chypre. Haha. And the current edp is a breeze.

How would you compare the new Cristalle compared to Gardenia?
Hi Kim 💖🥰 To me they are very different. Gardenia edp has a fleshy green medicinal coconut tone to it while the current formula of Cristalle edp has a balmier dryness about it, with a more sparkling ✨ clean Crystalline aldehyde note to it.

Cristalle edp is not distributed in the US. Chanel decided to not sell it in the US. I have no clue why that decision was made nor if they might one day change their minds.

In some countries chanel decided to distribute just the edp or the edt and in a few other countries they released both concentrations.

I sorta sensed the aristocratic nature of the fragrance before you even stated that it was. Chanel gravitated their clothes and bags towards that direction so it’s understandable that they would do that with their fragrances as well. It’s just something we have to accept with the brand moving forward
I wish you would do a review on Nina Ricci L'Air du Temps. It is a very old beautiful fragrance and has been around since 1948. You have never mentioned it!!!!!

Chanel No5 edp bottle has been used for other Chanel perfumes for decades… No19 edp, Coco edp, Coco Mademoiselle, Coco Noir and now Cristalle edp. I think its classic and befitting.

I'm a fan of Chanel Cristall Eau de Parfum because it is my perfume self and I love the sharpness and earthiness of this perfume. So, I understand that the new version is clearly not for me). I was so afraid they stopped selling it, because all of a sudden it wasn ´t available in stores anymore. I bought all I can get, also vintages, not to lose it.
Then I wrote to CHANEL and they told me, it´s just a new outside, they did not change the formula. Hm. Just happy it goes on and - that I found you! 🌟
PS: I miss the lightblue Cristalle body lotion, they stopped producing it 2015.
PPS: While I smell a hint of watermelon in the old version, I feel a hint of mint freshness in the top note of the new one.
The Eau de Toilette is my favourite, too. CHANEL CRISTALLE forever, anyway … 🥹
