Good video, loved the intro, really gave a feel for the journey. Congrats on getting through your first. I don't fish big tournaments, just clubs and club opens but I always find my first tournament is the worst - gotta shake out the cobwebs ;) Can't wait to see ya smack 'em next time.
Orillia Fishing Thanks and yeah the cobwebs and butterflies are bad in the first tournament. I would love to fish a clubs but in my area the fish more tournaments and I don't get every weekend off. Thanks for watching!
Keep grinding my brother, it'll come together soon. Trust that! As always, great info and I love the production value. Your shooting and editing game is taking off. Way to go my man.
I started to get out of the tournament scene, but this video really highlights the excitement and value of fishing tournaments, particularly draw style events like this one
Benjamin Nowak I love the draw events. I didn't do well in this tournament but I did pick up something from my boater which I used a week later to catch some smallmouth at another lake. That's what I'm after.
First off, thanks again for the gear on the contest! But, I wanted to tell you, I just sold my house on Norris lake. I fished that lake for a few years, fishing is horrible there! The water level fluctuations during the spring kills all the spawn eggs, most of the time. In addition, it drops off something serious and is so deep, not much cover. I'd stay away from Norris, but if you have to fish it, you were on the right side of the lake, New Taswell is way better than over by the freeway/Twin Cove
Realistic Fishing That's fine man. Just take your time and when your ready find the right fit for you. Lots of derbies and small clubs that are great to start in, they are local, and cheap.
Bass Angler Nation yeah man I've learned Im no co angler. I've been on the front of a boat to long. Hahaha but it's all about the learning process and taking my lumps.
Hey BG, like the tournament and practice vids, my question to ya, from your practice vids i watched you didnt fish the same areas as what your boater wanted to . how much of a curve ball was that for you
warriors57 It can be a big curve ball. I try to think about the baits more than areas. What baits can I get bit on. When I find a bait that works I put it down and pick up another that I think will work. Split all baits into 2 categories search and target baits. Search will be baits that you can cover water with. Target baits are baits that you fish slower around cover or structure.
those tourneys are always tough
lojo.fishing Yeah man you'll have'em you just have to miss on and be ready for the next one. Thanks man for watching.
