- This is my second meet up tournament for the 2021 season in the TNKATT.
It was a cold day and it took some work to get the fish to bite, but i had my chances to get some bass in the kayak.

Stealth is key
In winter it’s awesome to catch any fish, but really exciting to catch a good one.

That first bass would get my blood pumping starting a tournament off like that. My heart would drop just the same if I lost a good bass like that too, I feel for you man. It cracked me up when you got your first one with one eye and said no wonder I got him. I caught about a 5 pound striper with only one eye this year made me think of that then I felt the same about it even though it's been a couple months since I got it

Go going with the hellgrammite. Niko needs to rename that to Johns's buddy. Seems as though you always catch fish with it. Don't want to sound picky but, the beard could use a little off the bottom. Maybe the curl? Love you still, keep up the winter fishing

Looking really cold, cristal clear sky. But on days like this, anything can happen. (Hooked my by far biggest pike on a day like that, "hooked" only. I saw her and she was about 4 foot long. She broke the line on a tree) Greets from germany. P.s.: small tournaments are ok, but I hope you never start going for the big bass tournaments.
Ive missed so many on norris because they bite so lite in late fall hopefully youll be fishing the tnkatt one on norris on dec 9th be good to meet ya it'll just be my 2nd tournament met josh on the last one on norris with etka

I can't tell much on the hook or jig you are using, but is there one with a longer shank that might sit back a tad further on the hellgrammite body and have a better chance of staying hooked up? Just went and looked it over again. I think a little bit longer shaft on your hook and you may hook up better. I know it usually helps me....but that's coming from a guy who who you beat about 1000:1 ratio on how many fish you catch per year 😁

Not sure what size you was using but make sure your drag isn’t set to light so you can set the hook good and the hook penetrate the fish

lots of house boats for sale on that lake with services, water, sewer, electricity, a lot of people live on that lake system. I been looking into myself.

If i see how hard and fast amaricans drill their bass, i am not suprised that they loose so much fish. I do 4x slower to drill them. Not much fish coming off the hook here
It’s funny we all have a big box of all kinds of stuff to catch fish, but the old soft plastic always comes through .
