Catfish Dave catches the ENTIRE population of channel cats in Norris Lake. Honestly, I think they jumped your baits in hopes out getting out there and being relocated to a better reservoir. Thanks for the video
My new friend Dave is a real inspiration. I'd be cussing and throwing tackle over the side--and he just stays calm and finds a way to have fun. Hats' off.
This is my lake and people tell me they catch blues there all the time,I'm 50 and fished it all my life and never got a blue,I don't target catfish but I've got a lot of channel and flatheads,I'm a crappie man myself but so glad to see you here CFD,it's great crappie fishing but sux for catfish, great video, hope all my blue catching buddy's watch this and and say I told you no blues here!! Lol,thanks CFD,love your stuff bro!!
Hey man I'm going to Norris next week to visit family. Will be taking several family members with me kayak fishing and were planning on throwing out jugs and fishing for crappie/bream. Any tips on areas of the lake to concentrate on?
@@tjtewshews5531 the crappie are done spawning, catfishing is tough so I'd concentrate on bluegills, anywhere you can find shallow Rockie bottoms should be good for gills and crackers, they are spawning now. Boat ramps are good also,I'm up in the Powell river side so don't know many spots in the lake,I'm a river rat! Lol,good luck and be careful.
Let it be said that Catfish Dave is the hardest working Fisherman in Eastern Tennessee. Dave you need to check but there's a good chance you just set the lake record for catfish. lol Great job!
Dave, this is a great idea for a video... I love watching you but a change and challenge now and then makes it interesting. Can't wait... Gonna sit back and enjoy. Sorry about the weather... Fishing sucks without a towel. @Catfish Dave how did you pick your spot? Good gosh, don't hurt em. I'd even take some pity on them and throw over a bunch of bait for them to eat. Not seeing much in the way of food available for them. Great video Dave. Thanks for taking us along. Was fun. I'd say you did well sir.
Great video, I like how you keep it real. It’s not always going to be big blues all the time you go out hunting for them. I like the way you go out there and fish different water ways looking for that big blue that’s going to break your record. Thank you for your time on the water
Catfish Dave got a tree pounder. I'm an expert at catching those buggers. Gotta say thanks for reminding me that Vienna sausages are a great boat snack.
Think that’s why Dave gets the most consistent views of any catfish TH-camr. He actually has a personality. Not tha fake happy crap these other TH-camrs do every trip
Been raining for weeks here in Volunteer land. I did not expect to see a video from Catfish Dave, but here is one. Thanks Dave! Monday and Tuesday, no rain, wife got an 8 pt buck Monday (yippee), hunting stuff now put up until next year, bring on the winter cats. Norris does not have much flow, guess no Blue cats as a result. Pouring again today. boo! Been wanting to try some catfishing down where I hunt next to Cordell Hull in Smith County, but heard that is channel cat only territory.
Here at about 3 minutes in I say he's going to bag a 25 lb blue cat. We'll see… 🙂Hey, that was some pretty channel cats. Up there that far on Norris I would eat one every now and then. I'm laughing because those are some fun cats and you gotta admit it. Well, no blues but me and you both had a good time and we all know it. lol ☔🎣👍 Thanks, Dave! They don't call you Catfish Dave for nuthin'.
I caught a blue cat fishing Dale Hollow back in November 2021. Caught it on a 12’ Okuma Longitude using 40lbs test and a Daiwa Seagate 50 conventional non level wind with gizzard shad head
Congrats on your phenomenal day. Don't know how long you were out there to catch them. That don't really matter though. You got them , that's what made the day. Way to go Dave. Keep on hooking and reeling. Take care, God Bless.
Dave... you make it look so easy today with the video. Lol.. you know? You can get towels for sets of 3 at dollar general. Lol. Killing me with no towel. I take 3. One on belt for hands, one wet to wipe, one dry for my butt. Lol. Great stuff, frickin effort alone would have been considered content with one catfish. Thanks for the video and look forward to the next one.
One good thing about my cuddy cabin. It has a hard top to get out of the rain, and if it gets too bad I just go down below. 🤣 Thank you for another video
My daddy caught his pb flathead out of Norris lake back in early 90s. We use to fish it alot when i was a kid. Use to be good striper fishing but idk havent been there in years
Dave unlike what other people tell you. Norris lake ain't all the bad. I caught several catfish on Norris. How ever I fished mostly in the spring. But I've caught all 3 species of catfish. My uncle had caught 3 flathead near 4 pounds from the bank. My cousin has caught many good ones on hugs. This year. Just to let you know . Another buddy. Which I think has passed now has caught many over 50 lbs limb lining. In the spring time night fishing. The problem is. Most people dont fish for the big cats. I was proud to see you fishing on Norris. I'm hunting now . But when hunting season Is over . I'll be fishing some. But just to let you know. There are some big fish in Norris. Thanks for the video
Them was some nice channels Dave ,,,people have been putting blue cats here in lake hickory for many years,,and if you catch more than one a year , you are a wizard,,now thirty pound flatheads are a dime a dozen ,,easy to get a boat full of those. Also there has never been a skipjack in these lakes
Don't you guys have big channel cats down there? I've seen 25 pounders up here in northeast Ohio. Either way man you are a beast. I bet you can catch catfish out of a puddle lol.
We got em, but big ones (20 pounders) are found in slack but clean lake waters, and you catch 20 5 pounders and less before you pull in a big one. Good eating, but they don't bend the pole / burn the drag.
Sometimes they just hang out on that one-way street😂 Was hoping the Blues would get ya some blues😂 I canna tuna catfish😳 how does this SNARK tuner work? Got no directions/instructions/... destructions...😆
PEPPERJACK CHEESE!!! Dave we’re practically buddies!!! That’s my favorite Oh btw, thanks for adding a lake to my list of “Lakes to Avoid for catfishing-Norris Lake”
hi Dave I,ve been watching you for a few years now and know how you like to fish new lakes i use to fish lake jackson in georgia a lot mostly for bass and I put in at what use to be Martins marina down by the dam fishing a crank bait on second cove just past the islands on right and I hook a catfish that was pulling my large bass boat around like the trolling motor was on tried several times to turn the fish with not much success had 14lb line which finally broke, ive caught a lot of large fresh water fish in my life largemouth strippers, but nothing has come close to that , would love you to give it a try ! Elza ,
Nutin better than a soppin wet ritz in the rain....except for a soppin wet catfish in the rain.....Sounds like a Rancid Crabtree quote....Spot on !!
Catfish Dave catches the ENTIRE population of channel cats in Norris Lake. Honestly, I think they jumped your baits in hopes out getting out there and being relocated to a better reservoir. Thanks for the video
I like channel cats. They taste just like catfish.
My new friend Dave is a real inspiration. I'd be cussing and throwing tackle over the side--and he just stays calm and finds a way to have fun. Hats' off.
Wow Dr. Dave what a great day! You showed those cats who's boss and you did it all without a dog barking in your video.
You are the man sir! Thank you for your videos. God bless you
The Go-Pro comments were hilarious! Keep up the great work you're the best 👌
Great video Dave!! Thanks for the effort. What a phenomenal day, in the rain no less.
Dave, your devotion is amazing, you are the man! Many thanks 🙏
Your best show. I watched it twice. Both times 6:30 am after a 12 hour shift. Music and rain WOOO.
Let it be said that Catfish Dave is the hardest working Fisherman in Eastern Tennessee. Dave you need to check but there's a good chance you just set the lake record for catfish. lol Great job!
Trying a bad lake on a bad day... and sharing it. Bless you. And I had no freaken' idea you had that cat in the boat.
This was a great entertainment experience. Thanks , Dave
Phenomenal Catfish Dave! Glad to see you got some rain gear too!

Great video on a rough day! Congrats on catching the 4 Channels at Norris!
Great video, I like how you keep it real. It’s not always going to be big blues all the time you go out hunting for them. I like the way you go out there and fish different water ways looking for that big blue that’s going to break your record. Thank you for your time on the water
Glad to see channel growing. Keep on cuss in’ and complaining; we like it.
Do you ever fish any bridge structure like the one at the 2:52 mark?
Hi Dave, I lived on Norris a few years recently. I caught flatheads mostly with my biggest at 63 lbs. using live bait, mainly bluegill’s.
thank you Mr. Dave for the nasty weather you braved to get a few catfish, get em Mr. Dave!
Been raining for weeks here in Volunteer land. I did not expect to see a video from Catfish Dave, but here is one. Thanks Dave! The master has met his match..!!! The real challenge is to land a blue from Norris lake..!!! Semper-fi sir..
Great video Dave..You earned those channel cats...
Dave... you make it look so easy today with the video.
Lol..
Appreciate your dedication to the sport. Very few would face those conditions.
Good job Dave you hung in there despite the weather and made a great fishing video.
One good thing about my cuddy cabin. It has a hard top to get out of the rain, and if it gets too bad I just go down below. 🤣 Thank you for another video
A cuddy seems like it would make for a fantastic catfish rig
I about lost it when that cat hiss and scream came on! Nice channels
Good job C.D. Most folks wouldnt go out on a day like that.
My daddy caught his pb flathead out of Norris lake back in early 90s. We use to fish it alot when i was a kid. Use to be good striper fishing but idk havent been there in years
This guy is hilarious!
Great video Dave keep them coming!
So what type of rods and reels are you using today? Just curious!!!🐳
This was a fishing video there were little fish in this video and that makes it a little fish video. LOL Love ya man.
Dave unlike what other people tell you. Norris lake ain't all the bad. I caught several catfish on Norris. How ever I fished mostly in the spring. But I've caught all 3 species of catfish. Not 4 lbs ; but 40. From the bank
Well Dave, better than a skunk. Take some blues over there and turn em loose. Only way to change that lake.
More hang ups than hook ups lol! Pretty much sums up catfishing in Norris. You caught more in 1 day out of there than I have all year.
You luanched right beside my house lol lots of biiggg bad, but only ever got one tiny channel cat
Back in the 80's the next world record striper was expected to come from Norris. The average fish was 35 to 40 lbs.
Hot summer about 15 years ago killed a lot of the huge ones but they are back to good size which is the reason fishing for everything else is so bad
I've been skunked the last 4 times out, glad you're catching fish 🐟
Great video Dave
Well you showed him again and as far as that rain suit l hate wearing them dang things myself but you done good thanks for the video
That cat 🐈 snuck in your boat again!
glad to see you get some decent rain gear
"We've got a course set for adventure" 😄😄😄

I Googled that lake wow its beautiful. The river system to it is Awesome. Great video
Sometimes they just hang out on that one-way street😂
Was hoping the Blues would get ya some blues😂
I canna tuna catfish😳 how does this SNARK tuner work? Got no directions/instructions/... destructions...😆
At least no dogs barking 😂.
I guess Dave needed a new challenge, after reeling in all those big blues
Hey brother thanks for the sharing , I think the blue cat thing is propaganda lol.heard the same story man lol. 😁
Being hung has never been one of my problems. 😂
Visiting new places is interesting to watch and you are doing recon for everyone else
There were catfish caught, it was a catfishing video! Attaboy Dave- tough day, tougher lake and you persevered. 👍
Hey Dave, when you get done with Norris. How about trying Boone?
I want to see you try Douglas lake
love the R& B music
Can't believe it, I guess that's why call you Catfish Dave.
I’d rather have a bad day channel catfishing (or phenomenal in this case) than a good day at work!! Catfish Dave!! Catfish Myth Buster extraordinaire
What brand and model of boat do u run .
Am I the only one who yells at their TV when Dave misses the first couple seconds of a bite
Come up to Wa state. That weather is the norm.
He really was just trying out his new raingear, next stop Douglas Lake
PEPPERJACK CHEESE!!! Dave we’re practically buddies!!! That’s my favorite
Oh btw, thanks for adding a lake to my list of “Lakes to Avoid for catfishing-Norris Lake”

I have caught 2 Big Flat Heads on Norris. The Biggest being 52lbs. Scaled at Hickory Star.
Yes you'll get a catfish, but don't call me Shirley.
