    Good vid ! I’m about to replace the glow plugs in my 1HZ powered Troopy, but one plug has melted at the end so I have to use an extractor kit and probably the adjoining injector to remove any debris from it 😳

      Oh wow that turns a small job into a very big job! Best of luck with that 🤞

      I have had a few requests on a scoop video and I may do a showcase. There’s not heaps to cover because I didn’t make that one myself 😂

    Great video for the 1HZ.
    How would this work on a 1HD FTE Eek...

    • @tomyork1145
      @tomyork1145 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      FTE’s don’t have glow plugs

    • @WillsLandcruiser

      I second Tom’s reply. They use a glow screen in the cross over pipe to heat intake temps on startup 👍

    Hey mate my ‘99 hzj79 has been starting really rough in this cold Melbourne mornings and blowing a heap of white smoke on initial start up too. Just did this test and all plugs came back with the light on… any ideas what next to do? Haven’t checked the relay yet.

    • @WillsLandcruiser
      @WillsLandcruiser  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes even if there is continuity in the plugs, they can be really slow to warm up and that will still cause rough cold starts. Otherwise I’d recommend a compression test because with low compression, it’s going to take more effort to heat the cylinders

    • @joesarrieto8434
      @joesarrieto8434 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WillsLandcruiser awesome thanks for that. Out of interest what can cause low compression? Bloody hoping it’s not that

    • @WillsLandcruiser
      @WillsLandcruiser  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joesarrieto8434 Can be a number of things. Worn rings (rare in a HZ), small crack in head gasket or head but there’s normally other symptoms for that, pinholes in the bores, etc

    Hey mate just wondering do you have any rust problems behind the back door near the seal? Cheers.

    • @WillsLandcruiser
      @WillsLandcruiser  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No visible rust on the back door, but I do know that’s a common thing with the 100/105 series cruisers. Always worth getting onto rust sooner rather than later!

    Hey does Ur 1hz have a slight seep oil leak around the head gasket on drivers side down near the back not like back behind the motor just the drivers side, mine Na and has a very slight leak like slight and has been doing it for like 6 yrs

    • @WillsLandcruiser
      @WillsLandcruiser  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How long since you changed your tappet cover gasket? A really easy gasket to change and might just fix your leak! If not that, then if it’s been doing it for 6 years and the HZ is still going strong then don’t fix what ain’t broke 😂

    • @stan_smith395
      @stan_smith395 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WillsLandcruiser yea aye like its almost just vapour that how minor it is like I run my finger on it you can feel the oil but it's just enough too, but iv hered alot of stories that that's just how they are but yea dunno aye just doing it on drivers side and isn't going anywhere just sitting around gasket not going anywhere else

    • @WillsLandcruiser
      @WillsLandcruiser  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stan_smith395 I wouldn’t stress too much about that then. Little bit of oil like that isn’t going to hurt!
