Thanks mate. Yeah the white smoke was also associated with the rough starts. When I started the car afterwards it was perfect, so no more smoke

with that amount of corrosion at the wire , i would not be surprised if that was causing poor glo plug performance.

Great video! I have Prado 150 1KD-FTV glow plug location a lot more trickier to access compared to Prado 120. Do you know the torque spec for the glow plugs.

Yeah I'm glad I didn't have to do much with the 1KD engines.
It's not a huge torque setting, around 80NM comes to mind, but I don't know exactly.

The torque spec would be more like 13 or 20 Nm. 80Nm sounds way too high, but I'm not an expert.

@@Kalevanpoika I agree with you 20 - 26 Nm range sounds more likely - given 100 nm is used for wheel nuts - I am also not an expert.

Caused by starting while plugs are still glowing squirting cold diesel on the red hot plug. Coming up to 600k on my hilux with original glow plugs

hi! Mine's glowplug won't get hot after turning on ignition for a while... May I know where's the relay located on this engine? I have replaced it already but there's no luck of starting the engine...

Are you getting any power to the glow plugs at all?
Sometimes the Bus bar that connects them all gets corroded and may not be transfering current.
