Check out What's In The Box as I open up this all new Aircraft Carrier Model Kit of the USS Midway from Trumpeter in 1/350 Scale! Order Yours Today at squadron.com/1...
Finally , a well done unboxing and preview video. Thanks 👍. Most of the ones I see are guys looking at each spru and wondering what the name of a part is. Anyway great video!
I'm glad I watched your presentation on the middway. Glad to see that Trumpeter has finally got a middway class. Now, i have to wait for them to our shelves here in Australia 🇦🇺. Now i can get two more to complete her other two sister ships. The coral Sea and the Franklin D Roosevelt. Then, I can put a full complement of aircraft of 137 in total, including large bombers.
That will be a very nice collection once you get them done! Hopefully they will make their way to you soon... if you can't wait, and don't mind paying the shipping... we ship to Australia everyday!
@SquadronMMD that would be nice 👍. 1 greatly depends on the price of the Each ship. Because anything that From overseas doubles in price and then there is the shipping that you mentioned. 2 And that depends on the cost of shipping. Just might have to wait till they hit Shelves here in Australia 🇦🇺. But I might get a surprise that the cost of the ship might actually be the same as the cost that you would be selling and with the shipping thrown in.
Looks like a great kit, skegs notwithstanding. I noticed there is no yellow gear or tilly crane. Hopefully Trumpeter will release some aircraft kits to flesh out the airwing. I am sure the 3D print folks will be coming out with the post 1947 or bridge update. I have one on pre-order and looking forward to building it.
Sadly they modeled the skegs completely wrong. They did the post-1955 version rather than the as-built. Going to require a huge modification to be correct for 1945
They are pretty good build wise... I have built several of their carriers and battleships with no big issues. I hope to get into this one soon as well... hopefully it goes together well!
CV was a designation of carrier at their inception(CV1 USS Langley). CVB was a designation (at the same time) of a large carrier when the larger carriers started showing up( post Essex). Beginning with the Forrestal class, all carriers were classed as super-carriers and were designated as CV's. After nuc power came around CVN was added..
Hey Sir. Got a question were you in the Military? I actually was in the U.S Marines. I have been on a few ships. But not on this one. Nice model though. To expensive for me. But have fun and we will watch ya build it ok. Take care
@@johndesalvo7738 would love to see the museum one day… and the others out there as well! Gotta get to the Texas and see it too…. Too many museum ships I’d love to see!
I am taking over the job of replying to comments on our TH-cam channel.... sorry this was never responded to before. Thank you for watching and make sure to check out our latest videos!
The model is excellent and large, but there is a big minus, which is the assembly and painting instructions. Too much compression and fine print,sad...
Hopefully the instructions in these kits will be able to be followed easily enough... I hope to get started on this kit soon and will be able to know the answer!
I wasfortinate. To visit iss midway ,cape town, must have been 1954, on way back from korea, open day, on boardf 9 panthers, f 4 corsair, f2 banshee and what must have been s 55 or bell hsl copters, which as a boy of 9 i had no clue, all dark blue livery,
The whole shape of the stern of the ship is wrong. The stern goes from being squarish at the top going down to a point at the waterline on the real ship. It is still square on the model. The skegs apart from being the wrong version for the time are also the complete wrong shape. They should be thin at the ends. Not squared. The sides should flare into the hull no be totally vertical. Really needs major work st the back to look right. Just Google USS Midway in drydock and you see what I mean. Really Trumpeter a quick search online could have saved you. Not sure about this one. With all the errors and why did they depicted it as commissioned? When the Midway as in the vietnam war would of been more logical. I mean they already have most of the aircraft they can use from the Intrepid kit.

Can't wait to start this kit, Brandon. Nice in the box preview.
Thank you! It won't be too long now!
Looking forward to this kit. I hope a future 1/350 modernized Midway or Coral Sea is in the pipeline too.
I agree! Hopefully we will know future plans for this soon!
Maybe a deck transplant?

I appreciate the comments! Hoping to get better at the videos as I go!
Just Subbed, Looks like a real nice kit, its certainly on my list of builds. Looking forward to watching you past and future builds 😄👍
Thank you!!
Can't wait to get my pre-ordered kit and make some changes to have Panthers on her.
That will be awesome! Would love to see pictures when you get done!

Nice one!... thanks from down under 👍🇳🇿
You Are Welcome!
About time they brought out another famous ship
Yes! This one has been on my want list for a long time!

I would assume that they will... hoping to hear information on that soon!
Tip of the sword. Midway magic. Spent a few years on board that beautiful flat top.
Thanks for the review Brandon, looking forward to receiving the kit I have on pre-order.
Hi I got the Yamamoto 1 350 scale Premium Edition by Tamia it's a great kid a lot of detail parts I think it's over like 1500 Parts in a kit
That Yamato kit is a really outstanding kit for sure!
That's pretty huge! Beautiful model. Thanks for sharing!
Trumpeter has very nice detailed models.
Yes indeed!
I started with 350, hated it moved to 700. I hope they scale this down to 700. Otherwise I only get the ARII 1/800 CV41 circa 1970 modernization
I am sure it is a matter of time before we see it in 1/700! I sure hope so!
I like Squadron book very well. More details about the military history
Sadly they modeled the skegs completely wrong. They did the post-1955 version rather than the as-built. Going to require a huge modification to be correct for 1945
Good eye! I will have to take a closer look!
How so, can you explain? I want to have a correct version also, but I'm not up to date with the ship history yet.
thanks for review, wow that is A LOT of plastic!!! Never built a kit from Trumpeter, how are they build wise?
They are pretty good build wise... I have built several of their carriers and battleships with no big issues. I hope to get into this one soon as well... hopefully it goes together well!
Not a CV, 1945 it was a CVB. CV is the modern designation for a carrier.

Glad to see the planes aren't clear plastic.
I had the Trumpeter German Tank that was one two rial cars. 1400 parts.
Very nice! Would love to see how they turned out for you!

Hello! I was not.... however, my love for this particular ship comes from that my uncle served on it. You take care as well!
If u ever make it to San Diego, it’s tied up on the waterfront as a museum! Definitely worth the stop!
@johndesalvo7738 To many Democrats in Calif. Not going there. But thanks.

@@jamesmaroon6161 didn’t say u had to pack up and move there bud, easy! 😂😂 I left 4 1/2 years ago.
Do I see simulated planking on what is supposed to be a steel flight deck?
could this be converted to the Franklin D Roosevelt CV-42 ?

When are y'all going to start shipping?
Today!! PreOrders are headed out today.
Any news if Midway will be available in 1/200th scale?
Why on earth did Trumpeter do the 1945 version of the Midway, it looks like they scaled up Revell’s old version.
Revells CV42 was the later version with the enlarged bridge. Had they scaled up the Revell kit it would be a flat bottom model with no hangar deck.
Good eye!
The original configuration in 1/350 is a nice addition. Was hoping for this.
The model is excellent and large, but there is a big minus, which is the assembly and painting instructions. Too much compression and fine print,sad...
