the best part about this game is how crazy the fans are. the forums have had to delete confidential documents several times due to fans posting schematics and what not from vehicles that they work on that aren't "acccurate enough" in game. lol!
Been there seen it done it, that T5R engine has been sitting there for years, most components that you what are long gone, but worth a look just for the old school Volvo feeling
@@Legotruck82 oh, yes! I was wondering where I've seen this tail light. I was convinced I knew what it was, but for some reason my mind went french cars from the 70s. In any case, that's not a Volvo, lol. 🙂
I spent nearly 20 years driving past this place living within around 15 minutes of it. I always wondered why it was only Volvos there, I thought it was a bit odd, and to an extent I actually thought it was derelict as a shop / breakers. Apparently not!
I was up there about a month ago, 6 hours round trip but worth every minute. Brilliant place - what Barry doesn’t know about Volvos isn’t worth knowing! A proper old school place run by a proper old school gent. Mike - get your T5R soon, prices are starting to go up now… get it while you still can!
T6 is a great engine, the first gen T6 with B6294T engine have 272hp. Later on the B6304T2 have 281hp, the B6304T4 have 300hp and the B6304T5 have 345hp. The Volvo SI6 engine B6304T2, B6304T4 and B6304T5 are great to tune and make some power. The first gen i don't know so much about.. Then there is a non turbo version.
Why would Richard want another "project" vehicle when he does not have enough time as it is to get on this thing and host it? And he has an old Land Rover that was in pieces for decades already. He does not need a 2nd one in shambles.
depressing when you find something too late. My dad had a V70 R pre covid. Due to his health he didnt drive it for the 2 years at the height, and after that, with his health worsening, rather than MOTing and Taxing it he ended up paying a scrap yard to take it away.
I have a memory from the days when I did emergency call out for accidents on the motorways.... can't remember what day or month..but it was in 2003.... M5 under the M49 junction M5 north bound.... Volkswagen Jetta rear ended a Volvo 440.... the Volvos rear bumper ended up pushing the drivers seat under the dashboard... the rear end of the Volvo ended up being more that twice the width of the original spec.... the Jetta had the engine inside the passenger compartment...... Yes it was a hard hit.......but a Volvo deforming that much.....
As an owner of 1 out of 2 top spec facelift C30s in Norway(D4 was the top model, with the T5 not even offered for the facelift and mine is even a manual). I appreciate the mention of the C30!
5 cylinder is probably the 3rd best engine 2nd is the T6 and then the redblock 4 cylinder is the best out the lot strongest and most capable of making power over its whiteblock counter parts
I know of another place similar to this not far from me here in Scotland. Place is full of volvos. Guy lives in a house with a field full of them. Car one: Triumph spitfire Car two: volvo s40 Car three: volvo 940? Car four: volvo 440 Car five: volvo s40/v40
mike, the only people interested in an all volvo breaker yard are all down the local train station, in their anorak's, righting down numbers in a book.
I have been past this site many times in the last 50+ years, only owned a Volvo relatively recently though. Definitely some treasures in there, might see if I can get some of the elusive option parts that mine never had.
I bought my 1988 Volvo from there it sat in there 3 years and magically no one touched it apart from 1 part that was missing then 3 days later I took it for an MOT after a set of wiperblades and it went through an MOT with no advisories
I’ve recently purchased my first Volvo, 01 v70 t5m. Absolutely a wonderful car. Im stateside, so it’s a bit rarer. I think in my color it said under 30 were brought here. It will be Volvos from here on out. lol you guys are so lucky, manual Volvos everywhere😂
I have seen a yellow 850 T5 that has been parked under a car cover for years in a village not a million miles from me, i remember the car from 25 plus years ago same parking spot when it was on the road. always been tempted to ask if its for sale but i don't have the room/time.
I have the 2l t5 5pot engine . After stage 1 ECU remap got healthy 2bar from a turbonof the 2.3 t5 and it made 220kw to the wheels. Sadly the car is gone, but engine remains
No wonder a) St. Neots: they had an offbeat car engineer who loved his Morgan 3-wheeler & tuning twin-cam Lotuses and b) 5-cylibder was Ferdinand Piech's masterpiece and he was Porsche family ftom his Mum's side ....😎😉🤙
T6 great, the specially engineered gearbox to go with it, the complete opposite and unfortunately the weak point and prob the very reason that S80 is lying there as scrap. Known many a XC90 T6 get through 3 or 4 gearboxes in a short space of time
I have a Volvo 850 se that’s in amazing condition (been in an enclosed garage for over a decade) and recently took it on a road trip. I’m planning on selling it but not sure how much it’s worth (130000 miles) any ball park suggestions?

You found 400 Volvos and made a fifteen minute video?! Right. I’m heading up there. I’ll take a trailer
Get to it. I need headlights for an S80 V8
I've been getting parts there for the green v70
Been there seen it done it, that T5R engine has been sitting there for years, most components that you what are long gone, but worth a look just for the old school Volvo feeling
Go go go, Geoff! 👏🏻🗿
You found heaven.
1st car - not sure (some old french perhaps? Peugeot, Citroen, Simca?)
2nd - S40 1st gen
3rd - V70 1st gen
4th - 440/460
5th - V70
I reckon the 1st one is a Triumph Stag or Spitfire, going off the taillight show at 5:21ish, and the door handle. hard to tell tho.
It's an MGB. [ or Spitfire, deffo Brit ]
@@Legotruck82 oh, yes! I was wondering where I've seen this tail light. I was convinced I knew what it was, but for some reason my mind went french cars from the 70s. In any case, that's not a Volvo, lol. 🙂
Car 1 is definitely a Spitfire

Lol the volvo graveyard just outside st neots 😂
Thought the same before even watching the video ,superb place for Volvo spares 👍

Car 1 looked like a Triumph Stag

I didn't know we even had scrapyards like this left in Britain. It's great to see.
Why would Richard want another "project" vehicle when he does not have enough time as it is to get on this thing and host it? And he has an old Land Rover that was in pieces for decades already. He does not need a 2nd one in shambles.
I can't even remember the last time I even found a breaker's yard. At all!
@GeoffBuysCars would love this. Paradise.
I own two low mileage FWD 2.4 auto 5 cylinder estates, a 2005 V70 Ocean Race and an Alfa 159 turbo diesel. They couldn't be more different.
How low mileage? I've got a manual 2.5 07 c70 t5 on 33k
Ocean Race was about 3K more expensive at the time if I remember rightly. Worth it for the rarity though.

Get that "Landie" into the Cog!

One of the best looking cars ever made nevermind Volvo only is the C70 coupe (the Saint spec of Val Kilmer spec) it’s a more beautiful 406 coupe imo
Had a turbo 480..amazing machine.
5 cylinder is probably the 3rd best engine 2nd is the T6 and then the redblock 4 cylinder is the best out the lot strongest and most capable of making power over its whiteblock counter parts

Car four: volvo 440
Car five: volvo s40/v40
Where would that be mate? It's a breakers yard?
Geoff Buys Cars will sure to come have a pick for some spares...
Great video Mike, my guess is
1. Triumph spitfire
2. S40 from 1997
3. V70 from 1999
4. 440
5. V79 from 2017.
mike, the only people interested in an all volvo breaker yard are all down the local train station, in their anorak's, righting down numbers in a book.
1st car in the video despite it being a Volvo scrapyard there are non Volvos in there and I think the first one is a Triumph Spitfire.
I have been past this site many times in the last 50+ years, only owned a Volvo relatively recently though. Definitely some treasures in there, might see if I can get some of the elusive option parts that mine never had.
Porsche and yamaha are frequently contracted for help designing various car & motorcycle engines. Porsche made some great motorcycle engines as well.
I bought my 1988 Volvo from there it sat in there 3 years and magically no one touched it apart from 1 part that was missing then 3 days later I took it for an MOT after a set of wiperblades and it went through an MOT with no advisories
1st car is like a 79' triumph spitfire or something. I had one. Same door handles and lights

Had a V70 2.5, much fun , but if you ragged it, it was ruinous 😂
Series 2 109 landy is worth saving.
I have the 2l t5 5pot engine . After stage 1 ECU remap got healthy 2bar from a turbonof the 2.3 t5 and it made 220kw to the wheels. Sadly the car is gone, but engine remains
I came for the Landrover. I was dissapointed.
never knew volvo did a t6 twin turbo
Save the merc for Barry. it would be a great project.
C30 is a Fiesta
A mate of mine had a 850 T5 estate about ten years ago,yes he does regret getting rid of it.😢😢
Geoff buys cars would love that place.
1st Volvo looks like a 2000 Volvo V70 Stansted estate
Volvo scrap yard , that's unheard of ???????
No wonder a) St. Neots: they had an offbeat car engineer who loved his Morgan 3-wheeler & tuning twin-cam Lotuses and b) 5-cylibder was Ferdinand Piech's masterpiece and he was Porsche family ftom his Mum's side ....😎😉🤙
Car 1 I think is a Triumph Stag or Spitfire Hardtop
S3 109!! yes please
Now you show me this. Needed some parts for a 2010 s60 & struggled
Need to head there for parts for my 240
The first one I think is the MK IV Triumph Spitfire With a hard top
T6 great, the specially engineered gearbox to go with it, the complete opposite and unfortunately the weak point and prob the very reason that S80 is lying there as scrap. Known many a XC90 T6 get through 3 or 4 gearboxes in a short space of time
1 p1800
2 s40 first gen
3 850
4 440
5 v70 First gen
👌
Where is the yard and how can I get some parts or a Volvo? This is my dream place. My palace. I need to save these Volvos 😍😍😍❤️
I have a Volvo 850 se that’s in amazing condition (been in an enclosed garage for over a decade) and recently took it on a road trip. I’m planning on selling it but not sure how much it’s worth (130000 miles) any ball park suggestions?
Nice.
Just north of London 🤔 it's an hour north of London
Is that the place on the A1
does not mr hammond have a series one landrover?
1:19 Audi 80
Went to a Volvo yard , made a video, no mention of anything redblock
Rip volvo
White trainers in a scrapyard?
That's a sad place for a Volvo fan. 😭💔
Booo Redblock 4 cylinder is more reliable, stronger and you can tune it to more power, mainly because it has a closed deck and a steel block.
spitfire
save the engine.
Volvyard.
The video started out like a Mr Beast video
HWheel
First one a p1800
Doesn't look like one at all. I'm not sure it's even a Volvo.
It's a Stag
why did you change the name of the video
Geoff Buys Cars will be crying buckets if he watches this.😭
or buying buckets
Yep, you'll never find a yellow 850R, they were never made.
V
So this is what happened to part of those 1,000 volvos sent to north korea
Thumbs down for the clickbait.

Nope not mike again.. skipped
this is just trash.....
One man's trash is another man's treasure trove... there's spare parts there even a dealership can't get.
That's just up the A1 from me!!
@driftsnlifts wants to know
