Would you mind doing a short video on where those tubes connect? I am rebuilding a Ford 9N but there is no oil filter that I can see. And I would like to restore it the way it should be.
Unfortunately my tractor is put back together so there is no good way to see or film where to oil lines go. If you Google "Ford 9n oil line diagram" you will get some really good pictures and links to forums that discuss the oil the delivery system in detail. Good luck on your restoration!
@@FIXYFIXYCHANNEL Referring to the beginning of the video you see 2 oil lines hooked up to the filter housing. The front line comes from a fitting in front of the engine & is a return line hooked up to the bottom of the oil filter housing. The rear line heads around to the right rear of the engine to a 3way junction. This is a pressure line & is connected to the bottom fitting of the filter housing. And, don't go getting them mixed up now. Eh.. Oh sure it'll still run but sludge will not be able to settle out in the base of the filer housing. Also, note that some early 9N's have the pressure line hooked up to a fitting on the block just below the filter.
There is no advantage of this on these tractors other than the convenience of a quick screw on filter and less messy ! The cartridge filter filters just as good as a spin on filter !
I've looked at these on Ebay for my 8N. You sold me! No more basket filter for me...

This is going backwards to me I love canister filters but maybe I'm old fashioned lol

Correction, the pressure line is hooked up to side of the filter housing.

Only draw back is that the filter changes are messy but that's the only thing. Oil pressure is the same.

An easier less messy oil change sounds like an advantage to me and it looks super cool.
I would definitely go this route if the original oil filter housing was damaged (stripped threads) or replacement cartridges were no longer available.
