This crossing is very unique as there are four very rare Mk1 British Rail Western Region (BRWR) barriers. These are some of the oldest UK level crossing barriers, having existed since the 1960s, and are very rare to find. The crossing also doesn't have any alarms whatsoever, making it completely silent when it lowers. Since it is controlled from the on-site signal box and the crossing doesn't see many pedestrians, it doesn't necessarily need alarms.

Great video! ❤❤❤❤
Thanks 😁
What a very rare find very unique and vintage level crossing gates even though there is no alarms very cool nonetheless
Yeah, its certainly one of the more unique crossings in the area. Thanks 👍
Excellent Video!😁👍🏻👍🏻 Great catch of the HST! Really like these barriers! Hopefully going to come here one day.
Thank you 😁
Excellent shot of this unique, retro crossing!
Thanks 😁
this is not far from my house, i go here often for trainspotting, used to be controlled from the signalbox, which was the signalbox for the puxton & worle station which shut in the 1980s and is what the raised platform beside the crossing is left over from
Nice!
Thanks 👍
I was supposed to visit this and Hewish East LC a few weeks ago, but the line's been closed for engineering works due to the flooding. I just hope I make it in time to catch the old crossings...
Ooh it'll be quite tight as they are due renewals in February. Good luck.
@UKLevelCrossings Channel puxton and worle has been renewed now
@@Alfieslevelcrossings Has it now? Well I filmed it last month, and it's still the same, unless I'm very much mistaken...
@@TheosTrainsWalesOfficialapparantly it was ment to be
Excellent video and nice Crossing 👍
Thank you 😁
Nice crossing, but needs updating. Needs alarm & hew barriers.
Yes, its getting an upgrade in February 2024 I believe.
was there an alarm broken or none at all
No alarms at all at this crossing.
my local level crossing also i hope ur excited for the renewal colas rail were there today but they finished for the day
Lucky to have an NRS crossing as your local
I didn't realise renewals were finally happening. Its impressive the barriers here have lasted so long without replacement
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel hope it gets delayed
Yeah it’s quite sad seeing a renewal it’s due to their barrier power packs Ali the signalman told me
I’ve recognised on the GWR app for Weston super mare trains are late because puxton and Worle level crossing or Hewish level crossing failed to lower
Honestly, this crossing is dangerous because no alarm
Its not too dangerous. It is monitored from the on-site signal box which is visible in the video. The crossing is activated when it is clear of pedestrians and the barriers can be stopped easily if needed.
Great video! I love HSTs shame they are going
Thank you 👍 Yeah, its a shame, however their replacement is long overdue in my opinion
Nice crossing, but better with halogen imo
I was just glad I managed to film these barriers more than the lights tbh 😊
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel yeah the gate was super nice
If you’re blind : ⚰️
Barrier sounds?
