    Great video! Most notable thing is how frequent Dandenong trains are, it feels like a train in the opposite direction crosses us every ten seconds heheheh Thanks again and I wish you a Merry Christmas, hope you enjoyed it!

      Multiple the video time by 12 and that is how far apart the trains really were 😊

      Hi Luiz, my Melbourne train driver friend has given some information about the expected continued life of the Comeng trains. It’s a bit long, but if you would like to contact me by email, I can send it to you.

      I really should film trains one weekend at Carnegie, Murrumbeena, Hughesdale, Clayton and Noble Park and Springvale because I’ve been past those stations last month and they look nice!
      I’ll pick a day of the weekend where the weather is sunny so that I can get up early and go there.
      I live in Hurstbridge in the North-Eastern suburbs. 👍

    Im wondering why, at the start at like 0:20 we can see a comeng passing to flinders most likely, and then at murrumbeena there is already another train towards flinders arriving there. So quickly. Also when was this filmed? Also, note the pedestrian making a run for it at 5:30. How dangerous!

    • @tressteleg1
      @tressteleg1  ปีที่แล้ว

      The video is seen at six time is the normal speed, so with opposing trains if you multiply the space between those trains by 12, that would be roughly how far apart they are. Obviously this was recorded during a peak hour. Original video was published a few years ago.

    Double speed? Hah, great minds think alike. I couldn’t get over how many trains were heading in the opposite direction. My stars, it looked like one every six INCHES! These fast rides are hilarious… but I reckon the passengers would find the ride a bit uncomfortable at that speed! Another great video, Mr Tressteleg. Well done, thanks.

    Good stuff. So many names seem to be echoes of British places. Dandenong? Not so much.

    • @tressteleg1
      @tressteleg1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dandenong, probably of Aboriginal background.
      If you want to see a lot of British place names, do a google map search between Newcastle and Maitland NSW. Coal mining names have often been copied from Newcastle upon Tyne.

      The Cranbourne and East Pakenham Lines will be completely level crossing-free by 2025.
      I think he should do Cranbourne to Flinders Street via City Loop and East Pakenham to Flinders Street via city loop when all the level crossings are removed by 2025.

    • @tressteleg1
      @tressteleg1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @tressteleg1
      @tressteleg1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If that is the case, it is false economy because it would take more trains and crews to move the same amount of freight as each train would make less round trips in a day (or week). Up to about 40mph/60 km/h, wind resistance in not important, and that would be the main cause of speed loss.
