    Caught a small error in the wording but doesn't effect the settings or outcome.
    The 2pt gain and bias settings are tied to that source input, not the color temp selected.
    Advanced 20pt settings are what is tied to the color temp selected.
    Again doesn't effect anything other than the mistake in wording.

      Hey Classic. I really like 👍 your videos and streams with Fomo and the other guys. I'm interested to learn and to do my own calibration for personal use, and perhaps in the future, I'd be able to help family and friends. What are steps to follow in other to learn the basics and what do I need to purchase ( e.g, equipment and software). Is it to technical to learn? I have 3 TVs, so I guess I can learn while I'm using my own TVs as a practice. I'd appreciate any input on this. Thank you and keep it up 💯 . Hello from Houston.

      @@menacordero1 you can start with Calman home for "brand" (Sony, LG, etc) which is $145 and gives you the ability to manually calibrate any brand. Add an X-rite colorimeter for $300 and a used i1pro2 for around $400-500.

    Thank you for the great content! I just got my A80J and connect my inputs thru my denon Hdmi 3 erc/arc. When I set a picture mode it stays on that mode through all the inputs. Whether it's cable TV, Ninetendo switch...it doesn't change the picture mode. I would have to change modes manually. I was wondering if you know why this is? Thank you so much and keep up the great work!

    • @ClassyTechCalibrations
      @ClassyTechCalibrations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Switch and TV doesn't support ALLM. Connect the Switch directly to HDMI 1 or 2 on the TV and set it to game mode and it should remember that.

    • @haikparunakyan1317
      @haikparunakyan1317 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My setup is such that i probably won't be able to connect directly to the tv. It would be via the denon. Do you reccomend any of your calibrations that can be universal for cable tv and gaming? I believe native apps keep the picture settings and don't have the issue. Only when changing from Xbox, Ninetendo, cable where the settings remain the same and don't change.

    • @Ryans09G8GT
      @Ryans09G8GT 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, same here! Xbox series X in HDMI 4, eArc HDMI 3 to my Denon where I have my blu-ray player and Apple TV 4k connected.
      If I watch an HD blu-ray in ‘cinema’ but then switch to The Grand Tour on Amazon which is HDR, instead of switching to ‘custom’ where my HDR calibration is, it stays in ‘cinema’ with the HDR logo in the corner of the settings menu.
      Can easily enough change it to ‘custom’ but wondering if there is a way for it to auto-switch to ‘custom’ for HDR and ‘cinema’ for regular HD?

    • @ClassyTechCalibrations
      @ClassyTechCalibrations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Ryans09G8GT I think it may be an issue with Denon. When I had a Yamaha receiver it switched, but with the Denon I have now it doesn't. It is annoying I agree. So I run all game systems to TV directly and if you don't want to switch modes for TV/movies use Custom for SDR and HDR but keep clearness off.

DV bright looks great the after calibration report looks very good . Dolby dark looks good but the after calibration report isn’t as good as Dolby bright . The RGB balance is not as tight and the color errors are higher . How is my bright much more accurate then the dark according to the report ? Should Dolby dark be using SDR night 20 point ? Or is that just how the offset works ?

    These settings really made a difference on my A80K as well. How much can I increase the brightness over 30 without disrupting the other settings? The A80K is about 10% less on brightness overall.

    HOW do I set my A80J for Dolby Dark as you have it in the first part of the video and HOW do I set it for HDR?
    There are settings I cannot access (not able to highlight) which forces me to avoid them as I am following the steps provided here.
    ALSO I have my computer/ PS5 and/ entertainment plugged into HDMI plugins, WHICH access ports should I insert the correct or proper one of these selections?

    I'm new to this and a bit confused. When you're doing the settings for SDR and HDR, how do I get to each menu? For example, you did the settings for the game mode, which you said used both SDR and HDR, I couldn't tell how you got to each menu to make the adjustments.

    Are you planning on doing a video like this for the LG C1? Also (assuming budget is ok for both), would you prefer the A80J 77 or the LG C1 83" if you could choose one and why? Does the LG C1 83" need to be calibrated? Thanks.

    • @ClassyTechCalibrations

      I have a settings video for the C1/G1 already.
      I would get the 83" C1 for the size of the price difference didn't matter or for most gaming situations. Otherwise the 77 A80J is the better value.

    Hey Classy, I will be buying an a80j in a few days. I was wondering, for night time sdr/sports viewing, instead of constantly switching between standard and cinema, can I instead enable the light sensor on standard and let the tv adjust the brightness for me? or is the quality drop noticebly visible?

    These settings *do* look fantastic, but for DV content I definitely recommend setting up both the Bright and Dark modes this way, because, depending on the movie, one can look better than the other. He says Dark is technically more accurate, but on some movies it drains out an excessive amount of color. For example, Last Night in Soho *definitely* looks better on Bright mode (flip back and forth between Bright and Dark on the scene where she comes out of the tunnel and sees the Thunderball poster and you'll see what I mean), whereas Nobody looks better on Dark mode (weirdly, Nobody actually gets darker when you watch it on Bright).

      Some films I watch in gradient prefer and others on bright(John Wick)but I always leave DV in bright. On DV bright I have black level at 48 when brightness is preferred. On gradient I leave at 50. Is film dependent for me.

    Hey Classy, greetings from germany, thanks for your effort you put into these videos!
    I have some nooby questions regarding the different picture-setting-videos you made for the A80J.
    As a new owner of an 65' model, which of this videos is the one I "need"? Its very difficult for me to differentiate between them ;(
    A general question regarding the settings is why are you leaving Brightness to max and luminescene to high? I often hear or read that due to burn in prevention the oled panels shouldn't be pushed to their " brightness-limits"? Am i'm missing something out?
    I would really appreciate your help :)

      Burn ins burn ins every time you look around somebody is talking about burn ins bro stay away from those burn in seekers videos. Burn ins are not an issue it’s an issue if you are trashing abusing your TV plus it can happen to any type of TV. You can use max brightness on any settings on the Sony if you could and it wouldn’t be there.

    For HDR viewing when using apps like prime or Netflix, do you prefer warm or expert1?

  • @deadfishthesecond
    @deadfishthesecond 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So we’re switching from expert 1 to warm and adjusting 2 points to make it look like expert 1 so that the Judd conversion isn’t done in DV dark correct? But if we don’t need any 2 point changes from expert 1 to fix white point in the first place, DV dark is fine? I’m a little confused on if DV dark is broken from the start, or only if 2 point adjustments are made to expert 1.

    Thanks. I have setup my tv using these settings and it looks very good. I'd like to measure it with a colorimeter. What whitepoint did you measure against in the charts shown at the beginning? OOTB, they set it to ~d6850 right? The tiltle refers to a "fix" for DV. Is that because DV actually wants to apply an offset to D6500, vs the panel whitepoint?

    Sorry to get a little "off topic", but I am looking for advice/assurance:
    I recently bought a new SONY 55” A80J OLED TV. The majority of content I stream (movies and TV shows) no longer displays in full screen (streamed through Google Chromecast), even when I go into fullscreen from my app on my windows laptop. My new TV won’t let me use wide screen controls in picture display (it says “feature not available”, probably because I’m not going through an HDMI connection, but just using WiFi). Is there any way I can set or control the aspect ratio of the content I stream? I know the content is dependent on the original format in which it was created. I am seriously concerned about the long term possibility of OLED “screen burnout” if I continually have to watch content with two broad black lines on the top and bottom of my display.Thanks.

    Can the settings also be used with activated light sensor or is there something to consider? I do not want to change the settings every time, especially when using SDR. With HDR this has not been a problem for me, because I can easily switch to Dark or Light.

    Can you help us pick the right 4k UHD HDR Blu Ray player? The market space is a mess to research and selecting the right one is really difficult. I am not a gamer but currently use an Xbox S but am looking to upgrade (if there is a reasonably priced one) now that I have the Sony A80J OLED TV. I saw some expensive units reviewed lately but most of us can’t really afford units over $1000; really it feels like a equally matched quality 4K HDR blu ray player should be under $500. Thank you so much!
