Man you saved me, I was in the process of rebuilding one of my 880's and it was in pieces in a box, my wife knocked the box over and it somehow dislodged the safety assembly. I found the spring and BB but didn't know how it went back together. After finding your video I got it reassembled. It wasn't easy getting that spring and BB in place, took me quite a while and I had to chase the BB many times. Thanks for all your videos. 1-29-'22.

Got a little hack for you. Today while reassembling my 880, after replacing the O rings and valve, my safety slipped out and while replacing the ball and spring...well let me say, trying to replace it for the umpteenth time, the ball shot out, again, and this time I couldn't find anywhere. Now what?? So I got to thinking, & I remembered that I have some pellets with a little ball in the hollow point. So I got one and squeezed the little ball out and low and behold it worked!!! I finished re assembling my 880 and it works great. So, in a crimp and if you have any of these pellets, you have a whole bunch of balls that will work in the safety. You are welcome... 🙂 2-1-'22 Note from my comment below, I had it fixed once, then while fiddling with the receiver, I knocked the safety out again. I must have chased that little bearing 20 to 30 times before it finally disappeared for good.

Redwolf, that is actually good hack. But if you are shooting Gamo Rockets, I actually push peolpe away from those pellets because of the breech jams. Some 880s don't take those because the heads get stuck - the steel ball doesn't let the head form to the barrel.
But if the ball works and ammo works in your 880:

Can you go to this video and paste your comment there? I used metal beads from Hobby Lobby.

@@daisy880fanaticfixit9 Hi, I posted a shorter version of my hack on your other video. I haven't shot many of the Rockets out of my 880. A few years ago I bought a bunch of different pellets to try them out. I'll keep your advice in mind. Thank You for the info.

Hi again, FFI. I can't thank you enough for your time and support (patient, personal and professional) in not only elucidating the Daisy 880 [35, etc.] users with terrific, detailed and clear tutorials, but also for your keen sense of protecting our pockets from the infamous 'ripoff rats' (^_^) you allude to. ...Much obliged indeed!
Reverting to my old model (Rogers, AR late '70s / mid 80's Model 880), do you know if: a) there is a Safety kit, i.e., for the trigger guard type? The safety button is different than the new model button you've installed and illustrated above. If so, b) would it be separate from the trigger guard? It would seem that the button itself pressure snaps onto the groove / channel over the ball-and-spring assembly.
Jan. 29. I finally got to my project of refurbishing the 880; all parts are disassembled and cleaned per ... and THANKS to your expertise, dedication, and altruism. KEY advantage to be sure! The safety, however, is hard to switch side to side. I will clean some more and try a tiny drop of ND 30 oil to see if it will free the click motion.
"When you combine your goodwill with your talent, the world will smile a little more in its orbit."
Sincerely in admiration and indebted to you.
    God bless

Sir, thank you for the praise, but being praise worthy does mean having real humility, which means willingness to hand you over.
You are asking for assistance on a model I do not have any REPS on.
In this case, JL Missouri is the guy to go to. Yes, he has markups on these parts, but it's what the market will handle.
Search out his video on old style and try communication.

Yes, JLM is an excellent resource. Fortunately, the ball and spring under the safety button loosened up with cleaning and lube and is switching fine side to side.
And goodness, you're modest and humble too. 'o' ...That takes character! [For example, I like and appreciate how you give due credit and recognition to the gents that came up with the clever mod to flare the seal via an O-ring shim.]
      You're the best.
      Kind regards.

I know your 880 has sentimental value, so glad you are on the way to restoring it!
      You seem very determined!
Come back and celebrate when it's shooting 🫶

      Amigo FF,
Forgive me for bothering you with this Q. Your time is greatly appreciated.
Yes, you're quiet perceptive as well. 'Main reason for refurbishing the Old 880 is sentimental value: I bought it for my little son almost 40 years ago. Trying to bring it back to a healthy working order.
Currently slowly putting everything back together. I know there are quite a number of excellent blogs, diagrams / parts resources and videos (yourself, JLM, Ronno6, etc.). I've seen some of these several times.
Now, I'm usually very organized and neat when taking apart mechanical assemblies and electronic modules. But...
      In my array of parts-in-process, I have a solitary "extra"[!] black o-ring: ID 3/8 (or 11/32)" x OD 1/2".

Do you know where this came from / where it goes? I did not take apart the air valve nor the trigger assemblies.
Your disposition is admirable! For the cause.
      Best,

      @daisy880fanaticfixit9  ปีที่แล้ว

Amigo, hate to tell you, but that looks like your valve ring. That needs to go back on or be replaced.
      SAE 012 (Danco #7)
      ID 3/8 OD 1/2 Thickness 1/16
Otherwise, I don't have your 880 style. Could be part I don't know about.

You will have to take off recievers and push out Safety parts - INSIDE PLASTIC BAG - and lube BB. The bag will keep you from losing parts.
Check for broken spring. I got fix for that.
I see you watched both Safety videos. Please give me story of your gun. Is it new? Garage sale?

Danny, before disassembly, try putting some lube on the area. See if it works loose. Blaster Dry Lube perfect for tiny parts like these.
If you take it apart, you have to be careful with the screws, put them back right. I have other videos on that.
I've never had the safety stick like that. My hack video, with bead, has been tested and there is one for spring too. Hard to break a BB, so it has to be spring. They may not have put it together right.
If you take it apart - and looking at the spring and BB nside the bag - they look fine that means you just have to put back together RIGHT. They rushed at the factory.
If it STILL doesn't work after reasssembly, the TOGGLE alone is flawed.
Toggle arrow for order info in written section to order new safety kit from Daisy. Use a towel so you don't lose BB or spring - VERY tiny parts.
Try lube first before taking it apart.

Cristian, great that you found the BB. Most lose that and keep the spring. Another channel made hack for that - Bic spring. I will.send link for a how-to video I made.

Christian, on jam, if it is a barrel jam just run a rod down it, cock the bolt, and push out the pellet.
If you had the pellet fall back into the BB port, and couldn't shake it forward, take a pen and actually push it INTO your BB magazine. You then open up the BB hatch and shake it out.

Daisy 880 Fanatic Fix It awesome man and thats what I did (the rod) which was actually a wire 🤷🏻‍♂️ and it worked but now I cant find the spring hehe... so how often do you do maintenance on the gun? Or lube the orings?

    • @daisy880fanaticfixit9
      @daisy880fanaticfixit9  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Cristian, the 880 needs little oil. Just a drop of 30 SAE Non-detergent oil every 500 shots OR if your point of impact drops.
I have oil videos so check then out Pellgun oil or Super Lube O-Ring Silicone.good too. 30 SAE ND much cheaper.
Reminder, I gave you link to fix video for the spring. If you are talking about safety spring.
