    Best sheet metal tutorial on YT! If I may make a suggestion....you may want to consider changing your thumbnail to something "flashier" as the current thumbnail does not stand out enough. I've been looking for a tutorial exactly like this but always clicked on the other thumbnails. Great video though, thank you!

    Wow, this is the first video that sheet metal in any CAD really clicked for me. This is coming from a welder and fabricator learning the CAD side of things.

    This was the best sheet metal tutorial I've ever seent.. I will say that the last one is only disappointing because it doesn't have any bend lines.. I tried to use it for flattening aluminum boat hulls, and they were using darts and other features that are unworkable in the sheet metal module.. and the fabric approach worked but needed bend lines. Thanks for the awesome!

    This is amazing!! I've been fighting with Solid Edge, which makes the creation of Flanges super easy, but that's where its superiority to Solid Works ends. I've got an old copy of Solid Works left over from school, and I honestly prefer using it. It's just SO much more user-friendly!

      be careful with those old copies from school. Dassault is really cracking down. I have a buddy that just got hit with a huge fine after they found out he was using unlicensed software. We all did it, and I still have 2012 on an old computer, but yeah just a heads up. I always turn my internet off when opening the software. it reports it out somewhere and they come knocking. he had to get a lawyer and was able to get a $30k fine reduced to about $500

    Have you had any success reducing deformation selecting a different point from which you unfold? 34:36

    I have jobs which are cut all on laser which are then assembled together to meet edges without bending. How to make such designs with compensation for various sheet thicknesses?

    For anyone confused that they don't have see a sheetmetal tab option, you have to be editting a component, not a component assembly.

    • @goengineer
      @goengineer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      True! It will also show up if you are editing a part in context of the assembly too.

    Hi, I have issue in Soidwork 2017, when I give flatten view I am not getting Bending Reference line and even in drafting I am not getting Bending reference line, Kindly do the needful

    • @goengineer
      @goengineer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rolson,
      The bend lines are sketches so if you have set the visibility settings for sketches to be hidden or invisible these bend line sketches would also not show. Make sure your models show all sketches and that the sketch for the bend lines is specifically visible as well.
