I tried to send you an email but it keeps rejecting. Just tried again - I think it went through!
Great video. I buy my items at very low cost. I have a church resale shop that I go to ...all clothes are $1. so I can offer low prices on ebay which works for me. then again I am a 62 year old widow that supplements social security with my ebay sales and just having a lot of fun making extra money.
Mental reason we hold on to stuff is we don’t want to admit to ourselves it was a bad buy.😂
Thanks Casey
i think we all make bad buys, i view it as if it is only 10 percent of the time iam ok with that. Sometimes checking the sell through rate seems to depends on keywords we type in as well that was one gf my mistakes
Or not "quite as good" as we thought. its business, gotta take the emotion out for sure
We have to sing "let it go, let it go" to ourselves as we are lowering prices and setting up sales lol!
Sometimes it isn’t a bad buy. I noticed several brands in. Men’s clothing. That have just fallen from popularity. 2 months ago it was doing great. Now the price has fallen. It was a good buy. Just didn’t sell fast
Good Stuff. So I went through my store and researched prices again on the items that have been in my store for over 9 months. After I adjusted the prices, 3 of those items sold within 48 hrs! Thanks for the tips. You Rock! No pun intended. 😂😂😂
NICE!! It works
I have been doing this for the last few days. I have learned this. Especially in clothing. Prices are going down. Even after 60 days. I also learned that no matter how much you promote a listing it won’t sell if the price isn’t inline
CORRECT!! It's a hard thing for seller to learn, or to be ok with but you gotta do it
@@RockstarFlipper the hard Part is the realization that prices are falling. I used median sales price when I listed. 90 days later prices had dropped. I also played around after with sell similar.
Prices on eBay move like the stock market.
Ok, ok. You were correct. I had a great weekend of sales after I lowered my prices and added best offer. Thank you! :)
Very welcome! Keep at it. Consistency will snowball to a week of sales also
Great insight. Only time i wld say it doesnt apply is if you have snagged a holy grail discontinued item, via RA. Ill either hold till markets depleted or list high and wait. 😂🤷♀️
Thank you for the information! I stopped the video and went through my entire list. Several were above but many were to low! Everything is now close to median!! Identified many items that I'm not going to relist. Might bundle and try to sale that way. If that doesn't work, back to the thrift store!
Very nice!!
Those are honestly amazing prices for your consulting time and effort. I may take you up on that. Thanks!
Thanks a ton!! Feel free to email anytime Rockstarflipper@gmail.com
@@RockstarFlipper Already did! I'm Jamie. Thanks again!
Excellent video! Thank you ❤
I have to audit my inventory and get more sales... once we move we will glue our butts to the chair and list list list! 😅😊 I had 6 20' sea containers and liquidated 5 of them last year! I am working on my 4 car garage now and liquidating inventory and listing cool items that I know sell online! It's like a treasure hunt, but in my garage lol 😅😊😂! Have a great weekend 😀! Great video 📹! Joe Bee 🐝 from 🇨🇦 🍁 🇨🇦 Canada!
Wow Casey Amazing Video! Thank you 😊
Glad it helps thanks so much
Your videos have inspired me to do a thorough inventory on my store. I am going through everything and making sure it's worth selling and adjusting prices. It's quite the job but needs to be done. I'm worried that spending all of my time on this could hurt my sales because I'm not posting new inventory at this time. Thoughts?
Do a few each day, batch of 10 or 20 and list every day... this will keep your sales coming in! Have a great weekend 😀! Joe Bee 🐝!
AWESOME NEWS!! good luck with the audit
@lqdinfo6200 thank you so much!
My husband is sitting here with me watching this, and is repeating what you said to me LOL
Thats to funny (sorry lol)
I could explain actual throttling theory (programmatically, because I am a programmer) but I might save that for when I make my own videos.. someday...ok never. I am an introvert.. lol
but... and there always is one.. I see your advice play out all the time. I am such a nostalgic person and when I started selling some 23 years ago now, all of those things were important (and to my generation). I am just learning to let go of the notion that there isn't as many of those anymore, and new interest drives better sales.
they dont "throttle" though, per say. Algorithmic rotation of products vs amount of searches to listings makes it SEEM like there is a throttle when its just "rotation".
If there's no additional costs to keep it in your active eBay listing until it sells, and the inventory has already been purchased and accounted for, whats the rush to drop the price, unless you're desperate for sales, want to decrease your profit margins, or you just marked up the price higher to begin with than the item is worth? I get dropping some prices if they seem a bit high and aren't drawing interest, but that's not always the case. I've had some items sell after 6 months at their initial price, but if i had dropped the price earlier, i would have made less, in addition to having less inventory on display to help attract more buyers interests. Sorry, I'm just trying to make better sense of it, thats all.
Depends if you go over your ebay limits but no.
Yes this is for people who have a TON of inventory and nothing is moving. Usually the prices are overpriced and will never sell
Great advice Rockstar! Thank you so very much.
Anytime thanks for checking in!
Great video Casey!
Anytime thank you!
Great advice. As an up and coming reseller, I struggle with this myself.
Its a tough thing but its the right way to go
Great encouragement video for people who need to hear this.
It really is something a bunch of people need to hear
@@RockstarFlipper 👍
Thank You.
Very welcome!!
Thanks for the great advice!
You got it!! Thanks for watching
Could not agree more, I price just below the comps. A bird in the hand is better than a bird in the bush. lol
YES!!! especially if takes months and months
thanks Rock Star Flipper 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Anytime
This was great information!
Current items are listed and recent sold items are at or higher than my vintage Pokémon cards but I get 0 sales 😡
Good one!
100% sometimes it's just the price.
More times than not
So you're saying that 70% of the time, it's 100% of the reason? 😅
What exactly is best offer? I've heard several explanations lately
Buyers can make you offers on an item
There is more to consider when pricing an item.
Condition.
In my current category, there is a wide disparity between high and low.
The same item can have a range between $25 up to $100.
Buyer beware.
The price can really be too good to be true. Carefully read descriptions and see pictures.
My items are usually in very good condition and are tested if applicable.
This allows me to fall into the higher price range, plus shipping ($20-$30)
I maintain a modest inventory of around 500 items. Sales volume is no problem. Almost $200k last year.
It can be challenging, at times, to replace sold items fast enough.
I moved away from clothing a few years ago. I felt like a hampster on the wheel, churning out so many listings to replace the 400-500 solds each month. If your service was available back then, I probably would have jumped on board.
For sure everything matters like condiiton and model etc
Throttling is not a myth. You have a lot of listing and have sold straight for 5 days and then none for 2 and then 4 and none 1 day...pretty clear to see what's happen...
Except thats not what happens with my sales.. Go ahead and screenshot what you THINK i sold and ill screenshot the actual sales. You can't see accuratley what people have sold
@@RockstarFlipper I meant you as everyone (what happened to me) not your actual sells. I should of worded that differently.
I changed the name from alexa to computer on my fire box. Every time you said computer it dinged 😂
LMAO
I think a lot of sellers are over paying for inventory..
100% it happens
Take the fast nickle over the slow dime anytime!
Oh shiiiiii…… 🤦🏼♀️ You’re talking to me! *cough* 3000 active and only selling 2-5 a day right now. 😮😮😮
@@meganmawhinney oh Megan…..for reals?
"By now most of us are aware that eBay, for whatever reason, throttles sellers and limits their sales & visibility of items".
Why would they do that? They make money when we make money
@@RockstarFlipper true, but they feel the need to spread the wealth to allow all seller to have sells so they will continue to list items.
@@RockstarFlipper they also randomly delisted your items so…
THANK YOU for finally saying that the "hiding listing/throttling etc is BS, b/c it obviously is BS.
Ebay's algo shows items based on keywords used/how many items with those keywords/promo listings etc and it goes on a rotation fairly.
Ebay wants to sell as much as possible always.
So I had a $400 day Wednesday and $15 on Thursday… but it’s my prices?
You can't say "ebay is dead" because of one bad day... or an off day, Sure those happen here and there, you have to base it on the overall averages
@@RockstarFlipper i didn’t say it was dead.
According to Ebay your store has 2800+ active listings with 66 items sold this month. This averages just over 2 items per day in sales. According to this video, this means that you are failing. Maybe apply your principle to your own listings? Just an observation.
Dunno what you're looking at but I've sold 66 items since last week. AND you're looking at the store i have not touched in 4+ months as mentioned in a previous video.. Now do my other store...;-)
@@RockstarFlipper I was referencing store treasurechestfl. What's your other store?
So what's the name of your other store?
i like how you mimic her voice like she's a curmudgeonly witch because that is probably exactly what she sounds like
Not at all that I was trying to do, thats just a voice i use anytime i repeat no matter who it is ;-)
Also, if it’s clothing the longer you have it the more likely it will go out of style before you sell it.
Thats true
❤❤
Complete and utter bullshite.
@@midnightalley4586 thankfully real sellers made this work by the hundreds 😉
eBay sucks now. Wouldn't recommend anyone sell on the site.
Great video, Casey!
Thanks a million!!
