I’ve noticed the rat 2s come from factory right hand tip down pocket clip position. Always have to change to tip up. That knockoff was tip up out of the box.

bro it were 2 diffrent models model 1 and model 2 those are 2 diffrent products both made from ontario and model 1 is the bigger version and model 2 a smaller version
Did you not watch the video? They put a fake Rat 2 into a Rat 1 box. Both knives are the same Rat 2 size, but the fake one has minor but noticeable physical differences.
I got a nice clone on AliExpress for $10. I had hoped it would be real but I suspected it wouldn’t be. Still a nice little pocket knife for the price. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video, a lot of information conveyed without a word, nice. Had my two Rat lls in hand while watching, they real. The edges of the fake's handles had machine marks where the real one was smooth.
I got burnt on s counterfeit rat2 from eBay the counterfeit was way thicker than the real rat 2 also lock up was so tight on the counterfeit it took a coin to get it to unlock
I guess the wrong box is pretty telling, but I'm curious if knife makers vary their models a little from year to year. If so isn't it possible that these differences could be due to model year changes?
I got what l am pretty sure was a knock off Tenacious from eBay. It was a while between receiving it and looking at it. Decided to relist it with full disclosure about my suspicions. Still sold. It wasn't as obvious. Just had odd looking screws compared to real deal.
They are both real. One is the Rat 1 and the other the Rat 2. OKC makes both. They obviously shipped a Rat 1 on accident. Now if the box said Rat 2 and came with that knife in it then you would have something.
It seems like you didn't actually watch the video past the 30 second mark. It's only a Rat 1 box. The knife inside the Rat 1 box is a fake Rat II. As in the smaller knife.
What does it really matter at this price point? I have carried a D2 knockoff for years. The steel is plenty hard, fit and finish are good. Scales are even better than original. No complaints. I did buy an authentic R2D2, just to support the company but I have no problems with the knockoffs.
Mine appears to be real based on this video. But the fake one looks so close, it's scary. Maybe it's best to buy factory direct. I read they the just confiscated $500,000,000 work of fake Nike shoes, so buyer beware.
It's nuts that they're counterfeiting $30 knives, but thanks for bringing this awareness.
In germany you pay around 50€ for a rat II which is around 55$
its 60+ here :(.

Not as hard to open as it is to close, if that makes sense, hurts my fingers trying to close it since it’s so stiff.

He says in the beginning that they BOTH are Rat 2, but the box just says Rat 1. I assume he means box is mislabeled. I found that confusing, too.
