- In this weeks video I take a look at the good and bad parts of my 2005 Shogun Sport. Although the SS is a great, practical 4x4, it does have some poor features that any potential buyers need to be aware of. These are offset by some good points too. I hope you enjoy.
Me and my dad picked up one from 2003 on fb marketplace for 1800 quid and its perfect. No faults whatsoever so far after 6 months of ownership
Good review, I also have one of these 2.5 TD from 1999 and agree with you on most points, but I get around 31 mpg with some care . A great vehicle, a real 4x4 for real off road work or road trips at a moderate pace.
Great video and agree with all your observations, we are coming up to a year's ownership of a 2002 model we imported to Spain from the UK and love it, we converted for overland travel with rear drawers etc and the boot floor is level with seats down. I think the additional storage compartments for the boot floor must have been an optional extra, it raises the boot floor only by a couple of inches but enough for it to be flat with the rear seats down. Perhaps you could pick some up from a breakers yard, easy install and two big additional storage compartments...
Thanks - that’s interesting as I didn’t know about the option for boot floor storage 👍🏻
what is the fuel consumption of the 2.5diesel engine, combined
Hei nice videos you have! All you say about shogun/ pajero sport is spot on. I own one myself.
Only thing i can add is that this problem you with rear seats tear down and having higher " lip" and not straight is not neceserly there.
My is 2004 and when i put my seets down it is all flat, becouse the trunk is lifted and there are diferent palces to put in stuff.
And yea i am allso keeping mine for a long time!
Have fun!
Bye
Love my 20 year old shogun.
Just bought one of these yesterday and did a 160 mile trip home in it. I can confirm you are just trying to keep pace with other cars lol! Also it seems that the old girl has a drinking problem. It's already had 60 quid of diesel, it's now going to get a further 50 today and I may have a quarter tank 🤣. Good motor though.
Welcome to the club …. thirsty, noisy & slow 🤣🤣 but highly capable off road, built like a tank and super reliable. We wouldn’t be without ours 👍🏻
Yeah I love it already. My dog has also approved lol.
@@BombideersettlerRemap it to 145BHP
I agree with a lot you say,i have a 2007 ss and its fine on the motorway,i do 70 all day not to noisy in fact its not as noisy as my previouse Freelander.
Another enjoyable vid
I was looking at these many years ago but chose a 3rd gen Hilux surf instead. Kinda glad because it absolutely launches off traffic lights 😂
Er...I cared for my Tonka toys. Still miss them. Good video though! Thanks
Going to look at one soon. I had and sold my last one and that was a mistake. Mostly bullet proof. It ain't fast but it will pull a house down 🤣✊
To be fair low 20s isn't too bad. My 2009 1.6 petrol Mazda3 only gets 26 mpg around town.
0 to 60----YES
You don't buy a pair of wellington boots to sprint in. Loved mine warts and all
I have the same car this engine 2.5 diesel is have on fuel. I went from Birmingham to Dover 220 miles then i use full tank fuel i use 67 litres 😢
So how many miles to a tank does it get?
Around the mid-20’s
@@FastandFun it does 20 miles to a full tank of fuel? 😂 Nah it's only I want to buy one for a daily at some point as well! I had a land rover disco 2 td5 and that was awful on diesel 😂
@@lukebryant5362 sorry, I misread your comment LoL. I’m not really sure what I get to a tank as I rarely fill the tank fully up.
@@FastandFun haha that's okay I was slightly worried for a second tho! No worries mate!
@@lukebryant5362439miles is quoted from a full tank
i love my 2005 shogun.perhps you should forget about speed and go camping in one..as i do in orkney...
