As much as I like the ES 350 V6, I would go for the ES 300h. I can compromise on the horsepower for the mileage and the fact that it is more quieter than the 350. Both are good car but for me ES 300h gives me everything I need in a car.
I totally agree with you 100%! I have a ES300h as a loaner vehicle right now & I would too easily pick it over the V6. The CVT also gives it smoother acceleration as the 8-Speed in the 350 felt jerky at times at least the last couple of times I've driven one. The 300h feels much better balanced than the 350 with plenty of power still. The 350 has too much power IMO for a FWD sedan especially compared to my current RWD 2016 GS350 F-Sport which puts the power down MUCH better.
Mechanical engineer. As much as I like the ES350 HP the gas mileage takes a significant dip. A fair compromise is the Lexus 309 H F sport. At least it won’t be sluggish you will get enough HO. Nobody will mistake this F sport for a Porsche or a Maserati but at least you can put 87 gas
Adding on to it... driving in rush hour traffic (either in SoCal or Bay Area), you're pretty much mainly using the battery to drive too right? I'm from the bay, and looking into a hybrid sedan... just thinking if having a hybrid is ideal to drive during rush hour commutes.
I have the same car. As Ben said, you're not trying to look cool in this thing. It's super great on Gas. I get about 41 in the real world. It's not a Prius but more like a Toyota Camry with a lot of makeup on.
Mechanical engineer here as much as I like the ES 350 and the ES 300 H I would recommend the ES 300 HF sport you still get good gas mileage and you get a little bit of a umf Nobody going to mistake this for a Porsche Maserati but at least it will be fun to drive and you only have to put 87 as opposed to 91 gas Just understand that you’re not going to break any world speed record but at least you’ll t is efficient
I've driven luxury and sports cars, but in the end of the day, this ES300h gives me peace and relaxation. Best car I've bought as a daily. I'm in my 30s as well so not an old person car!
Same! I'm in my mid-late 30s and I'm actually looking into replacing my 2006 TL to the ES 300h F SPORT HANDLING as my daily driving because of the reliability, and fuel efficiency. With gas prices nowaday, and my driving habits (drive like old people haha), I'm looking into hybrids or plug-in hybrids. Just for driving locally, and commuting to work (CA traffic, this is probably great to have hybrid). I haven't test drive the ES 300H, so I am not sure what's the final call... but I did hear about taking awhile to accelerate to the speed you want/need to go... and that might be a con for me... lol RAV-4 Prime & Accord Hybrid looks ideal, but I'm more into luxury type... Lol I have always been an Acura/Honda fan, but because Acura don't have a hybrid sedan. I was eyeing the TLX Type-S, but I want a hybrid. I'm branching off and see what the ES 300h has to offer. I have an Acura MDX Type-S for my weekend/long trip car.
Where I live, a lot of Uber's who operate the "Premium" ride service use this, and ONLY this. I can get used ones for quite affordable rates but they have really high mileage
Only drawback? The backseats don’t fold, towing hook (?) is not an option (which is very normal to have in my country for a family car), it does not have preconditioning, either heating, or cooling. Also you have to grip the wheel rather hard for it to register that you’re holding the wheel. Otherwise it will start to complain that it wants you to hold the wheel, which you already are! These things are realy unacceptable for a car that wants to compete with the german 3… which is a real shame because it is so comfortable to ride 👍

I bought a 2022 WRX limited back in that year and have been getting tired of driving manual in traffic… plus having to pay for premium gas + 24 mpgs in a compact sedan. These have been popping up in my head for my next car
Love your videos but I would appreciate it if you would slow down a little. You seem to speak very fast and jump from one feature to the next at a lightning pace.
I drive a 2011 ES350 V6 FWD, and it runs perfectly fine. Despite being a 14-year-old car, I have had little to no problems with it. I am considering getting the brand new ES300h to replace it.
I own the IS300H. The hybrid system is probably older than ES300H. My car is 10 years old now and Lexus dealer struggle to fix issues that start cropping up (they are only good as servicing) so I am thinking to get ES300H. It appears better built , but I am yet to test drive one. I drove many UX250H from this vintage and they felt solid and the hybrid system is so much more useful at higher speeds. The 2.0L feels faster and more responsive than my 2.5 L is300h. The ES must feel even better...
@yangzhang5854 It depends on the options. A loaded Luxury Trim will probably be about $60k with tax etc. That's based on MSRP, but now it looks like prices are coming down below MSRP.
"Luxury Prius", that is exactly what it is, in a very good way. I am just upgrading from an 2016 Prius base model to a 2024 ES Ultra Luxury (the one in Europe with the power reclining and heated rear seats, a third A/C zone in the back and audio controls in the back arm rest).😸 But we do get the old "hyper chrome" wheels (slightly mat, bright chrome) and not the "vapor chrome" wheels (slightly darker, more polished chrome) you guys get for 2024 in the US. I like the older wheels better because they are more elegant.
I got the ES350. The V6 is very efficient, but Lexus only makes the fuel tank capacity 12 Gallons, which gives me about 325 miles of range. If they made it 18 gallons, I would have no complaints. However, they need an incentive to sell the Hybrid version. If you drive daily, get the 300H.
That's one fine looking car. I don't like those switches on the top of the dash. That ruins the streamline aesthetic really. Japanese do that though. They stick on unnecessary things like that with cars. Great looking car in and out. Would be hard to find a car as nice and as well built and in that price range.
Love the car but when i rent it for 3 days 1 major flaw i noticed is when u hit the brake it goes smooth then suddenly stops hard , i think they have to do a better calibration between regenrative power (to recharge the battery) and brakes. It was really annoying
Need a lighter color interior for floors. The black floor carpet shows dust and small leaf pieces. Can Lexus please give the option to choose a light colored carpet. My 2014 ES350 has it and it looks more spacious than black colored flooring.
as far as cabin quietness is concerned, how is it compared to non hybrid ES 300? I don't really care about gas mileage but, i'm considering hybrid mainly because it's known that hybrid is quieter than purely gas car. Do you see that big difference in cabin noise coming from engine when you step on accelerator and during driving? or since lexus ES is just so smooth and quiet, non hybrid trim is almost like electric car that you can't even tell whether you are driving hybrid or gas car? I currently drive 2023 MDX AWD and although it's smooth over all, I'm not so satisfied with noise level when i step on pedal (it seems it's even louder than my previous 2016 accord v6). How is it compared to MDX if you have driven one?
Is this really a 2024 I mean Lexus have the same interior from 2018 why are they doing this. Why can't they upgrade their vehicle interiors, i really want to buy a Lexus but the interior is uninteresting.
What are you talking about? The ES was updated a few times (new touchscreen) but this is no new car! So why should they change the (btw great) interior, only because of switching from Year 2023 to 24. if you want a completely new interior you have to wait for a all new ES. However you will be more than pleased with this interior, I‘ll bet.
Yes, but don’t expect to shine like in german ones. It is elegant and it is dimmable together with the dash and on the minimum brightness all leds (doors, dash and food lights) are completely off
This is on my wife’s 2024 NX350H, after remote started, the engine does not shut off after I open the door. I do have to have the key with me, step on the brake and push the start button in order to put it in gear.

Agreed. I hate torque steer in cars. So the V6 would kinda piss me off sometimes.
You are buying this car to own this car for the next 15 years no issues. You are not buying this car for excitement.
Actually, it's a car for the ones who get excited over reliability and value. I'm picking mine up next week :)
I just bought my new 2024 Lexus ES 300h/Hybrid today, and I love it.💯👍
Oredred mine yesterday from Lexus LIncoln can't wait, this will be our 9th Lexus
Been loving the Lexus es300h 2023 here to see any differences 😂 but as of right now I average around 47 mpg! A beautiful car 😎
the perfect cruiser, incredible fuel economy
I love that you do multiple vids on the same car~ it's like getting two opinions on the same channel & the reviews will always be slightly different.
Love that there is barely any piano black plastic to scratch
I have one, from December 2024, and it is a delightful car.
41 Mpg cruising on I-5 LA to SF, well above the speed limit, this thing is great.

Not sure what's to be torn about. Pretty simple. You want a car or SUV. You want 30-40 MPG or 17 MPG. You want to pay $50K or $65K
If you're talking about the GS, I'm pretty sure that has been discontinued. Or, maybe you're thinking of a used GS?
