I lost my daughter to sids a few months ago and I thought of this song. It encompasses how I feel. The sorrow, my faith, and my hope in the future.
The ranks of angel armies in Heaven are filled with the souls of children as yours. Just as your daughter, my grandson is along side her in a spectacular scene we will see some day.

We will be reunited with all that have gone Before us . I buried a son in 2005.on October 3 , 2019 God let me get a glimpse of our Soul with a Partial out of body experience or NDE . IT was the most life changing experience , I knew instantly that I didn't ever have to breath or eat again , no chronic pain . It literally felt like God was holding me in his hands.That small voice told me If I leave now my time here in this vessel was done , and magically I went back into my body . Ever since then I know Death is nothing to Fear it's a New Beginning to Immortality and Eternal life with our loved ones and Creator !!!!

Since Christ is Lord of heav'n and earth, how can I KEEP from singing?
:P I first heard this song through Enya, covering a version reworded by Pete Seeger, "...since love is lord of heaven and earth...." And supposedly he intended to lose as much of the explicit Christian theology as possible, but I think he failed wonderfully. That line always stood out to me, and is something I think we can identify with

I am going through the hardest time in my life I have ever had. I play piano at church, and our worship leader picked this song out yesterday. I loved it so much, I started searching different versions of it last night. I came across this one. Audrey, I have listened to this over and over. I have shared it with many of my friends. This song is healing my soul. Thank you for allowing God to work through you to share His love and mercy. Truly, my soul is being touched and strengthened in this dark time because of your singing and video. I thank Jesus for you.

When I was in college, I knew a girl. She was a marvel of every admirable virtue and quality imaginable: kindness, intelligence, beauty, piety, and wit most notably. I was immediately attracted to her. But I wouldn't say that I truly loved her in a way that moved my heart until I heard her singing this song.
I haven't seen her in years; things never worked out between us. It still hurts a bit. But hearing this makes me think of her and smile.
This hymn always puts me at peace. Besides when it's sung in a congregation, this is probably my favorite rendition of it!

Madies - you may not be close to a Christian but God is close to you..in fact, He made you in His image. So much so that you have the spiritual insight to reach into, and be comforted by, words that speak of balm for the eternal soul. The question to ask yourself now is 'where do I want to spend it?'

This morning I remembered this song, and so using a phone, I looked for it on you tube, and listened to several versions before I found this one. What a blessing! I posted about it on my openbook facebook page, and then listened out loud with speakers. Then the tears came flowing, and I clicked the replay over and over. So cathartic! So beautiful. I love the video of rivers and forests and mountains and aerial views, and the lyrics swiveling and fading in and out at the ends, and the instrumentalists playing, and Audrey's voice gently and clearly calling our hearts. Such a technically wonderful, artistic video in service of a message so pure and inspiring. So sweet, so beautiful. Thank you so much. Muchissimas Gracias a Dios a Uds. I came across this song through by accident and in my mind it will be forever associated with a certain story but it also brings some sort of weird nostalgia and calmness. Like I'm thinking about those I love and who love me back as I hope, but I find comfort too - even if I would lost everyone and everything, there is always Hope and Love.

It's wonderful to hear newer songs.... but also, there are many who simply want to sing along to old hymns, with their deep words, and do not enjoy all the other artists who do those hymns. So much better with a clear voice like yours. 🤗 .
I really think there is great value in getting old hymns (lots of them) out there... but with a better musical arrangement and more angelic voices. 🙄
New arrangements can lend a beloved old song a different perspective, as well. The version of this hymn I loved the most is almost a capella with a solo male vocalist; it has an ethereal atmosphere. This rendition has more of a martial tone, a confident, bold, victorious spirit -- 'Onward, Christian Soldiers' comes to mind, with our faces set like flint. Inspiring!
Everything that was going well has now has turned into pain and worry. This is when I must believe that God heard all my millions of prayers and He will take care of everything!
