      Turbo was a stud in the Ivy league, his one year in the SEC as a 5th year eligibility player he did not "make the active roster" for South Carolina. Would LOVE to see Miller make it but the odds are STACKED heavily against him. The 40 yard dash and bench press #s don't mean bubkis except to Kent Lee Platte. Bingo. I know WanDale is only 5'8" in high heels, but that's no excuse for overlooking him. CeeDee Lamb called out Robinson as a guy that's very difficult to cover. Robinson was a beast in the SEC as a latebreakout WR, he's the inverted case of Tyrone Tracy. Yet the spent more than a few minutes talking about 5th round rookie Tracy and completely overlooked WanDale. BIG mistake.

      He will see a lot of the Sequon touches in the form of a Wes Walker type role. The Giants WR core was overall young, where they needed 2nd and 3rd picks time to develop. As well as having an Alpha #1 WR to take attention off of them. Thank you, Malik Nabers.

    Respectfully I am so confused on the Malik Nabers take. It was initially said that in a few years he can be viewed as a top 10 WR2. And that he's not well cast as a WR1. I understand that ya'll are eluding to not liking him against press man coverage and having him lineup at the X. But he's 100% capable as he's still a little raw. He's a great prospect and was very deserving of top 10 draft capital and would prob be WR1 in most classes. That's not a WR2.

      Yeah they’re confusing a WR1B with a WR2. Just because teams have 2 great ones doesn’t make the lesser of the 2 a WR2. We absolutely cannot normalize having to have a waddle type wr2 to be considered a good WR2. Completely unsustainable.

    I for one am optimistic for this team. Strenghened up the Oline a bit, the receiving team got a bunch of speed now. Nabers, wan'dale, hyatt, etc. Edge rushing got a big boost. Some great pickups that will get their 2nd year jump, such as Deonte Banks (love his energy and effort out there). The combination of upgraded Oline should at least give Jones another second on average to throw the ball, and the receiver upgrades should be able to get open more consistently with more separation, which should combine to make a noticeable different in our offense. For this year I'll be happy with 8+ wins. Then next year when we get a new QB we can push for a 10+ win season.

    *Read this comment* This is going to be the duality of talking about this Giants team. Whereas they shocked a lot of ppl and the year after those same shocked ppl expectations out shined the actual problems the Giants have. This will be the opposite of that coin. Expectations are low, for the team, scheme and QB. I don’t think they will limit DJ the way ppl think with the addition of extra reinforcements to the OL I think they are going to finally be able to play the way DaBoll wants. Don’t be surprised if they start to shock the rest of the league this year with how they play and how free the offense will look with a reinforced OL. They didn’t draft a QB because they needed to build a proper setting for that QB like you said. But what will also happen is a chance DJ actually shows what he’s capable with an actual pocket and time to make reads and throw the ball. I’m not optimistic but my prediction is the Giants might DOMINATE the league by surprise

    I think the only thing I'd put in to this is that Slayton was our number 1 and led the Giants in receiving for like the last 4/5 years or something like that with little to no help. Nabors unlocks Slayton A LOT. That and you spoke a ton about Hyatt, who may fit that 2 OR 3 wr role. Because if Slayton is on the field. He honestly is objectively the one you will out resources towards over Hyatt. As Hyatt isn't as diverse in his skill set (yet), and... Wandale Robinson. Check his stats for the second half of the year once he came back from injury... An absolute WEAPON from the slot. This doesn't include potential receiving threat of Daniel Bellinger, who was catching EVERYTHING thrown his way in 2022 before his eye injury. With Waller gone and Theo Johnson in... Belly is opening up that receiving window for everyone as well. The receiving threats all over the place on this offense are kinda scary, IF they can get the ball.

    Granted for the giants it makes sense the talent on the roster was worse after year 1 considering they spent the entire first year tearing the roster down but you were just hoping for more from the draft class. Injuries did absolutely decimate them though. You lose your best offensive player in Barkley, lose your star left tackle, your top 2 qbs, your talented te, your #2 edge, your #1 cb, and signing guards off the couch because you ran through all your depth. This is a bit more solid of a base now but this is a true 6 win team in my eyes. They were a few plays away from being a ten win team with close losses against the bills eagles and a couple other teams, but they were also just as close to being a two win team with a bad call on Washington and a missed fg from NE. Wild stuff

    Malik, Wandale, and Hyatt will be deadly and a problem for coordinators. Never mind if the offensive line holds up, and Bellinger/Johnson can be a part of the passing game and not be required to block primarily. If the line is shapes up it'll look much better than you think. Also, Daboll is creative enough to get Malik into spots where the press will be less frequent.

    I disagree with the concept that Dabool returns to the offensive scheme of 2022. It was personnel based. Control the ball, control the mistakes, control the T.O.P, low scoring games. I see them with a healthy top 4 WR of Nabers, Slayton, Hyatt and Robinson I DO SEE 4 Verts. Why not? Also, the idea that Basham is any more than an injury replacement is HILARIOUS. He is a JAG. I see Ojulari being a Nascar package DT next to Dex on passing downs.

    Overall really good analysis guys. Very accurate macro persoective but I have some topics to note on.
    Mike wont be calling plays. Daboll has taken over playcalling all of the practices this summer and from the outside its pretty obvious whats gonna happen. Even media stuff Daboll has talked about how many head coaches who are offensive guys call their plays so yeah he wants to take that control of his offense for his vision.
    You're not all that wrong about Malik but I really feel like you're selling him short. He is a Tyreek/Waddle in usage/role immediately. They're gonna feed him the ball this year, he's gonna be in motion, crossers, screens, fades, slants, curls, double moves I'd say mostly. No he isnt a technically skillset complete alpha yet but there is no reason he can't grow into that by year 2 or 3. His stop start suddenness is insane, body control, RAC, hands ability to pluck is all way up there as a player and he isnt small at all he's a solid built dude with enough length. He needs to be refined technically in some route running biomechanics, gameplan, and releases dealing with press. Thats it and there isn't any reason he can't improve there to become an AB, Jefferson, Odell, etc as a 1. Hes 30 lbs bigger than Devonta smith with the same frame length while being faster and more explosive.
    I'd guess 90%+ of us Giants fans are only sad about where Snakeuon went not that hes gone. That money needed ro go elsewhere, they weren't in position to pay a back
    Andru is playing the nickel if that helps the closer to the LOS skillset outlook EJ

    • @rjharrold2907
      @rjharrold2907 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And yeah overall I feel really good about organizational outlook rn. Obviously as Giants fans we know things can just get fucked up quick but this year became the realization where they got back on the right track which is that the team is looking at 2025 and 26. It's really a very accelerated rebuild because there are huge value building blocks that were already in the building. Adding a really good OL coach, Nabers, and Burns to already having Dex, AT, Okereke, Banks, and a whole bunch of intriguing to be solid potentially good starting young players is a great spot to be in. WR core is set for a couple years at least imo and that there is a building block in every non qb roster area makes each unit need less resource attention going forward.

    • @rjharrold2907
      @rjharrold2907 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This year is probably gonna be a 7 to 9 win season, see how the OL and secondary do to add to them and get a new quarterback as well. I'm fully in on the value of having a rookie deal qb, that's the best path and the money they have goes to free agency and roll over for now. Back on the subject of them being back on track now yeah Schoen made a big mistake in overall plan last offseason. Saquon should have been gone because he was never a long term plan guy and DJ should have been tagged or tested the market because nobody else was gonna give him that deal. Kinda sucks we missed out on Caleb and Drake but at least we're in a good spot going forward and I'm praying this season isn't a total dysfunction that resets the staff because I feel like the framework is finally here to turn the team around just needs a little bit more time

    I guess u guys made this video a while ago cuz it seems like Waller retired over a month ago. I really don't understand the Daniel Jones dislike; he has never had an X or O line since he got there and the defense has been mid to horrible. I know that Jones is never going to be Patrick Mahomes level but he did make the playoffs without a good o line or receivers and he had Joe Judge as his head coach for a while. Last, the first team I really saw running 3-3-5 against 12 personnel a lot was the Eagles(3-3-5 under) during the Super Bowl year, the run defense had issues all year but was good enough until the super bowl(#1 pass defense). One of the main issues I saw with that defense is that it's hard to bump over ur run gaps(unless ur will can step down and play the edge) when teams go in motion so u can be susceptible to the plays that the Chiefs scored easily on during the super bowl. I didnt watch the Pats much last year so I didnt see how they did it but for most of the year during the Super Bowl run I really liked it, I just think that it's really important to have the right guys to run it cuz there are real weaknesses u have to cover up with personnel who can do multiple things.

    1. Looking at what they did offensively without Dj makes me think they want to go downfield and he’s had the opportunities to throw downfield but he wouldn’t (which I don’t blame him). The biggest problem is that he doesn’t trust his line anymore and it shows.
    2. I hope we play a defense that has KT Dex and Burns on the same field at the same time, that would be deadly if those edges can play the run much better which KT was ass at it. And I personally don’t like how much we paid Burns for what he has done.
    3. I think this year is the year that we truly judge how good Joe has done drafting because not many of our players that he drafted have turned into great players especially our first round players. Although our late rounders are good depth pieces. But most of our draft picks feel like we’re starting them because we have no other options.
    4. Brian Daboll should be a coach for us regardless to how well we do this year in my opinion
    5. There’s no way we should have let McKinney walk out the door without matching the contract he got. He played 100% of the plays on defense
    6. Dak is a bad plan, simply because he hasn’t gotten it done against the best teams in the playoffs with the cowboys
