Not sure how great the Cowboys' d-line actually was. They finished 13th in sacks despite playing the Giants and Washington twice, as well as the Panthers, Jets and Patriots. That's 40% of their schedule against really bad offensive lines.
All those teams were throwing Pick 6s instead of taking the sack so you can't really go off of that. Teams are game planning around Micah instead of our actual defense and why wouldn't they considering the next highest person had half the sack numbers that Micah did on our defense and the third person had half of the second
It’s other divisions weaker than ours and you don’t hear/say a peep about it. Plus division games are harder anyways. Actually EVERY game we play, is TOUGH, bc everybody wants to beat us. We know this and still don’t give them extra credit.😤 Let’s talk about that y’all

This team is an ideal reflection of ownership. Operating in their own version of reality where everyone still respects them for what they accomplished 30 years ago. They aren’t listening to anyone and will continue to point to their bank account when pressed.
Just came across you guys and enjoyed it. There is a strong RB class in next year's draft. I think they will draft their RB1 next year. We have a strong WR & TE room with players coming back from injury. Plus MM will use 3 TEs. Beebe will be competing for Center more than Guard...I am concerned Coach Solari won't let 2 rookies play on the line at the same time...that means Beebe, unless he comes out strong at Center. TJ Bass will probably take over for Zack (hopefully we get a couple more yrs with him). Don't sleep on Liufau. So far he has shown great instincts and FB IQ. I'm excited about him! Can't wait to see him play. No way he would have been there in R5 or later. Zim is an LB guy and he loves him! Al fought for Carson and he looks good. They are joined at the hip. So far...I'm really impressed with the rookie class, as well as the UDFA class. Cowboys always seem to hit it on some UDFAs every yr. They've also brought in 3 UFL players. I look forward to your next team.👍🤠💙
Dak Prescott going to want 50+ million, Ceedee Lamb is going to proably want 35+ million, Micah Parson is going to want to be the highest paid defense player so probably 35+ million, and im not sure how much they would pay Daron Bland since they are paying Trevon Diggs. Thats almost half the salary cap as of now going to 3 people with Daron Bland being unknown . The Cowboys are going to have to make some roster decisions.
I’m sick of ppl making excuses for Dak. He truly plays like Cowboys Cousins, he’s great when nothing is on the line but, when it really matters he doesn’t show up till the game is already decided. I’m convinced the “all in” was in reference to everyone that is “most important” fixing their issues or they are all out. The highest paid ppl-QB, head coach and staff fix the choke jobs or are out.
fans, we have to remember that this year is the first FULL season that Jimmy Johnson is in the ring of honor. The curse is broken, and perhaps this is the year everything comes full circle.
The lack of signings and the 1-year coach deals sounds like they want an easy excuse to clean house, not that they're tanking, but maybe Jerry is done with these guys and is just giving them a very last chance

@YoBeandon sacks don't tell the whole story. He consistently was pushed around inside, he allowed the pocket to collapse multiple times a game, and he couldn't move anyone in the run game. He was serviceable and nothing more.
I'll tell you why the Cowboys have it set up how they do on the contract front. After watching them lose to Green Bay 49-7 I don't even want to watch this team in the upcoming season.
What hate about these breakdowns is the fact they do them way too quickly. I’ve watched their breakdown on the Cowboys for several years and they don’t do enough research to accurately speak on things. Can y’all just reach to someone in Cowboys Twitter or have someone on the show with you to properly discuss what’s going on with the team?
The cowboys are the bar for settling that I’ve constructed which might be unfair but I don’t think cowboy fans could argue that. My team hasn’t been good the last couple of decades but if they somehow miraculously ended up being the regular season cowboys I’m scared that people in important positions on my team would pat themselves on the back for that though that would be an improvement. The dread of the inevitable lowering of the bar is real and I don’t want it. I don’t want to be the last decade of ravens, Steelers, and Cowboys. Give me the chiefs success. It’s a high bar but I must insist on it.
12 WINS ISNT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE WANT PLAYOFF WINS!!!!!!! IF THEY DONT GET IT DONE THIS YEAR (COACHING STAFF) THEN THEY DESERVED TO GET FIRED!! YOU KEEP GOING BACK ON YOURSELF IN THIS VIDEO, ITS EITHER DO SOMETHING TO WIN PLAYOFF GAMES OR STAY AT THE PACE WE AT, REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONS. DO BETTER BOOTLEG!!!!
2023 broke me. It DID feel different. Every close game broke our way except Philly and Miami. The other 3 losses were straight beat downs where we managed to come away without significant injury which again felt DIFFERENT. Then Jimmy got into the ring of honor. Seriously, it all felt different in a way I've not felt my whole life (I'm 31). I will never forget watching that Packers game in a dirty ATL airport terminal. Everyone laughing at the cowboys, while I sink into my plastic seat hoping no one notices I'm in blue and silver. Public humiliation. I had so much hope I actually was wearing my team pride in public in January, something I've never been able to do in my living memory (started watching cowboys in 2003). I'll never have this much hope again. Ever, it hurt too much
Man, I feel your pain but in a different way. I’m not a Cowboys fan, I’m a 49ers fan and I’ve been riding with this team since the Harbaugh years when I first started watching it with my family. I’ve seen the ups and downs; the literal worst coaching job in 49ers history with Chip Kelly, and the rise of the team. I couldn’t be any prouder of them. But this year, this last Super Bowl, I truly believe we will never win a Super Bowl with this team no matter how perfect we are, how talented or how great we work as a unit. This team will never win a Super Bowl. How many chances does a team get to be arguably the best team in the world with nothing to show for it? I feel a pain the Buffalo Bills and the Minnesota Vikings fans can feel when they watch their team go to consecutive Super Bowls or go to many Super Bowls in the span of 10 years just to lose them all in heartbreaking fashion because this team can’t get it done. We were facing the weakest version of the Kansas City Chiefs and we couldn’t win! I had to watch a replay of the first Super Bowl against them. We’re up because of our running game, the Chiefs score before halftime, we stopped running the ball in the second half, The Chiefs catch up, and then they win. The only difference is that we lost in overtime. Like you, I wore my colors and I wore them proudly in public. Sure I’ll get slack and I’ll be a bit embarrassed because of certain losses or maybe we just didn’t play up to par or whatever happened but I wore the logo with pride. Now I feel embarrassed to wear it because my team was the first team to get beat by the Kansas City Chiefs and we were the team that established the Kansas City Chiefs as a dynasty. Not to mention, we get shoved down the throat of the NFL fan base as being called the best team in the NFL and yet Nick Foles has one more Super Bowl than the supposedly ‘best team in the NFL’ for a few consecutive years. I won’t invalidate your pain or say mine is worse because of the circumstances , but I will say is as a Niners fan. I feel for you Cowboys fan. We’re both too great of teams with too much talent to just not get the job done.
Try being a Chargers fan. All the pain. None of the past success. At least you can fire up 90s highlights on TH-cam safe in the knowledge your team was once competent and clutched a load of Lombardis at one point. The only Super Bowl we've ever made saw an ass-blasting so severe the fanbase collectively pretends the AFC Championship game win at Heinz Field was the Real Super Bowl™ as a coping mechanism. Their only contribution to the Big Game since then was on a 4th and 29 play in 2012 when they unleashed a stream of explosive diarrhoea *so* powerful it propelled the Baltimore Ravens all the way to glory. Seriously. Imagine your team choking so badly on one play it produces a wave of momentum big enough for the other team to ride the crest of it all the way through the playoffs to the Super Bowl like Cody fucking Maverick.... God I hate the Chargers.
I feel your brother I’m 53 years old. I’ve been through the great times but it’s been a very long time since I’ve tasted another championship. Last season was such a tease and that playoff game against the Packers was an absolute disaster. I shut that came off in the third quarter because I knew it was over. They just did not show up for that game and what a letdown that was. I still have faith in this team, but I just don’t know what to expect anymore.
Cheap yes, foolish meh. They’ve done a good job building this team and couldn’t get it done with all they had, I say blow it up or at least let players and coaches prove their worth. What is foolish is not getting anything for Dak if u are indeed letting him go
@@Willthethrill478I think the trading Dak idea has to be shelved for at least this year. I just can't think of any glaring openings for him, largely due to what it would cost to get him. This sort of "win the superbowl or we will blow it all up" is reminds me of the 1993 Houston Oilers. Both teams lost in brutal fashion in the playoffs the year prior, both brought in new well respected DCs. I dont think this season will be as dramatic as the 1993 Oilers, but still, this is boom or bust for Dallas.
Looking back at the NFC East last season, the Niners beat the absolute shit out of this division with the exception of NY, who put up somewhat of a good fight😂
The lack of offseason moves and attempting to hold a monopoly over every players career is very clearly Jerry being completely out of touch and inept. Nothing new, just worse.
Jerry knows that whatever they do on the field has absolutely no impact on how relevant they are. As long he is alive, it's going to happen his way or not at all. He doesn't care.
More like scorched earth. He won’t be alive forever and the fanbase is shrinking. Younger fans never seen a successful cowboy’s. My nephew has lived 22 years and is a fan but never has seen success.

At this point I legitimately feel like the Cowboys are actually cursed. Mike McCarthys and Dan Quinn in the playoffs was inexcusable. I don't blame all the losses on Dak.
@@calebqueen2090 You might not want to hear this but I blame Dak & if the Cowboys are smart they'll let him go after this season BECAUSE Y'ALL WILL NEVER WIN WITH HIM‼️🤔🤷🏿♂️🎯💯💯 #DakIsYourProblem #IWasAskingBecauseIWanted #ToSeeYourAnswer
I didn't realize the Cowboys got Royce Freeman, but if you did my question is why go out and get Ezekiel Elliott? Royce Freeman is like a Walmart version of Ezekiel Elliott so having them on the same team is redundant.
Just a couple thoughts after listening (very good video btw) -McCarthys offense was significantly better than it has been in the past (Kellen Moore remained the bane of my existence) but I do feel like we gave him a bit more credit than he deserves. Sure he added some motion and more modernness to his game but it still lacked that extra bit of killer instinct. I feel, like it’s been since I was born in the late 90s, that the players are carrying relatively incompetent coaches. It was just the fact that whenever we got matched by a tough defense everything folded. The fact they didn’t move on from McCarthy kinda told me all I needed to know -I’m excited for Zimmer because I think he brings that asshole kinda mantra that Quinn didn’t, I love Quinn and appreciate everything he did but just like the offense when he felt overmatched and out coached it was just not a pretty sight. Zimmer may not bring the production Quinn did but I do think in terms of actually winning the games they need to I think that’s where Zimmer helps a lot. -Y’all have him his flowers but I don’t think people understand how much Dak elevates this team. His season last year was special man -I think the losses of guys like Kearse, Armstrong and Biadasz are a bit overblown. All heavy contributors and solid-good players but not deserving of second contracts with the team, particularly Biadasz and Kearse who were very mediocre last year at best. All were replacement level so I’m actually glad they let them go rather than overpaying. Also I’m pretty sure Beebe will be the starting center based on what I’m hearing outta camp but that could obviously change, Hoffman is super intriguing though if you haven’t watched him at all. Guys like Izzy and Juanyeh will step into Kearse roll and I don’t think that’ll be a huge loss while Sam Williams and Kneeland fill in for Fowler and Armstrong -it was actually refreshing to not hear the tired Zeke takes. It’s pretty obvious what he is at this point and what he’s still good at he’s very good at. Good pass blocker and good in short yardage and obviously loved by his teammates so I have zero complaints with that signing but not getting a burner beside him is bothersome. I like Rico as a relief guy but he’s not starting quality. I hope I eat my words but I’m not looking forward to watching that rush offense tbh
They usually start every season 4-0 bc NY and Washington are dogshit. Against teams with a winning record they win about 30-40%. They destroy teams like the Panthers and Titans and win their home games against solid teams. That's it, a 12-5 record with good stats. Found out as the frauda they are in the first game that matters.
Im a cowboys fan dont worry they dont deserve refuge anymore bring it bud its getting ridiculous im valley ranch i dont know if this even can be fixed anymore
You mentioned that the Cowboys were 10th in rush defense and guessed that the games they got torched on the ground might be aberrations. Teams just don't run against you when your offense is blowing the doors open. Same thing happened with the Niners run D last year.
Cowboys have been a work in progress since Johnson left. They always get so close and break down in the end. I don't think jerry will hold another SB trophy in his lifetime. Those days are long gone, maybe the next generation will have better luck.
Everyone can get mad but Jerry and Co. built some very good teams. Players gotta play and coaches gotta coach! It doesn’t help that the defense was a wet paper bag against GB and couldn’t make any plays to give the offense time to get going. When you’re down by 30pts it kinda changes your game plan.
Jerry picks the players and in some cases, he's got such a weird cheap mindset not to pay them what they are actually worth until the market drives up their price where they are very expensive. He also picks the coaches as he doesn't want a scenario like 3 decades ago where the coach got more of the credit for overachieving with the roster. In the end Jerry overlooks those things, the Cowboys punch it in the regular season but always gets finessed in January. Very typical.
The Detroit Lions are America's Team! The "only" people who like the Cowboys are their fans lol... Everyone else can't stand them or their refs... #OnePride - when your favorite team is no longer in it - the Lions are who America loves right now...

Really wouldn’t surprise me if Dak has the best year of his career this season. But as a lifelong Cowboys fan, I’m sure he’ll play terribly. This team is just not UNDERSTANDABLE. Been following this team for 59 years, and this one’s got me flabbergasted.
Anyone who is a diehard Cowboys fan KNOWS that QBS thing is flawed because our line was mid at best and our run game was terrible and predictable. All success for our offense came through the QB, there was no “support”. The receivers relied on him throwing passes with defenders on his literal hip. The defense relied ENTIRELY on Dak and the offense scoring early and often. When the offense needs good scoring defense our defense can’t do that. Got ran out the stadium. The implication that the Cowboys gave the QB everything a QB could want when the opposite is true is enough to click next video.
If there is one thing you can count on the cowboys for its there draft team picking great Olinemen and Duke Manyweather training them across the street. Guyton looks incredible, He's giving Micah a hard time and biadasz was there week link in the run blocking. For some reason the Oline coach loves Brock Hoffman and he will likely start but he isnt an upgrade to biadasz. Cooper Beebe will be an upgrade to biadasz at center when the coaches get there heads out of there butts.
As a Cowboys fan I’m truly perplexed by the praise this team gets. Do they have talent? Yes but that amount of talent does not equal quality wins against good teams. We consistently beat bad teams. The only game we played this season with grit and physicality where they did not fold was Seattle but yet this good defense gave up 35 points. Idk wish my team the best of luck, I just don’t understand the praise they receive. And this years schedule will most likely expose what I’m thinking. I don’t see more than 8-9 wins
The Cowboys are one of the cheapest teams in the NFL. They spend to the cap but they dont push money out. In the last 5yrs the top teams in the NFL have spent hundreds of millions more than the Cowboys. Mike Fisher, explained how the Cowboys handle the business and the Cowboys are just included in the rest of their holdings. Essentially, this year the Jone's chose to invest $100m cash in a stock (i cant remember which one), rather than pay the signing bonuses that it would take if they signed Dak and Ceedee. I expect Deedee to be signed before the season starts. I think they let the Dak contract get too far down the road, and now they cant sign him. Dak is just going to wait to hit the open market.
The Cowboys messed up by not signing Derick Henry. That team wins by running the ball often and early to take the lead with explosive passing plays using Lamb and a turnover generating defense. They’re going to learn this year with yet again, another ineffective rushing offense when it counts.
I feel like people forget zekes rookie year was 2016, everyone talks about him like he’s frank gore on the colts but he hasnt even hit 30 yet, I think he’s still got a few years left as a solid number 2
This team is really a good not even great true GM away from winning another Super Bowl and I mean that with every fiber of my being. The team has the very good qb, the elite receiver, the elite pass rusher and a good secondary. The problem is none of the other pieces are consistent enough and the FO doesn’t add any valuable vets to fix that
I’m really annoyed of hearing all the time, three 12-win seasons in a row. Big deal, I couldn’t care less about the regular season. The way I look at the last 3 seasons is we have a 1-3 record in the postseason - that’s what matters.
Smartest thing Jerry could do is not sign Dak or trade him to some chumps that he can trick into thinking he’s a great Qb. Over half the league’s starting Qbs would have made a super bowl with the talent he’s had around him his entire career.
They haven’t won a championship in a long time but they consistently put good teams on the field year after year which is impressive. It is fun to mess with their fans though.
I am a life long cowboys fa, they need to blow it up. Suck for a couple seasons and draft a high upside young QB high in the draft. Itll never happen though
Same ol' song and dance man. Jerry had opportunities to build a team on a 'cheap' quality QB with Romo and Dak that feel on his lap and he never made the most of it even in financial terms. Hell instead of just giving Dak a good long term deal, he kept cheaping it out until Dak's value went high that he wants a contract to reset the market. So now Jerry gets to live a world once again where he has no long term starting QB.
Anyone who is a diehard Cowboys fan KNOWS that QBS thing is flawed because our line was mid at best and our run game was terrible and predictable. Not sure how great the Cowboys' d-line actually was. They finished 13th in sacks despite playing the Giants and Washington twice, as well as the Panthers, Jets and Patriots. That's 40% of their schedule against really bad offensive lines.
as long as they were generating pressures, probably forgivable enough
All those teams were throwing Pick 6s instead of taking the sack so you can't really go off of that. Teams are game planning around Micah instead of our actual defense and why wouldn't they considering the next highest person had half the sack numbers that Micah did on our defense and the third person had half of the second

fans, we have to remember that this year is the first FULL season that Jimmy Johnson is in the ring of honor. The curse is broken, and perhaps this is the year everything comes full circle.

They actually posted that the AFC South will be next.
The lack of signings and the 1-year coach deals sounds like they want an easy excuse to clean house, not that they're tanking, but maybe Jerry is done with these guys and is just giving them a very last chance
Decker was eligible.
Have to say, as a Scottish Cowboys fan, and big fan of the show, really disappointed there was no gear on show 😮 especially after having to suffer that Kelly green trash 😂 pretty sure it was the same last year EJ 🤨😂

"LOL" - Lions fans
EJ called Tyler Biadasz a super veteran in the commanders video and said in this one “playing for as long as he has” when the guy is 26 and has only started 3 full seasons 😂
He also played like shit all 3 years
@@adamjabado4197 I thought last year he only gave up like 2 sacks in 1k+ pass blocking snaps. Or was that propaganda
@YoBeandon sacks don't tell the whole story. He consistently was pushed around inside, he allowed the pocket to collapse multiple times a game, and he couldn't move anyone in the run game. He was serviceable and nothing more.
@@adamjabado4197 I hear ya
I'll tell you why the Cowboys have it set up how they do on the contract front. After watching them lose to Green Bay 49-7 I don't even want to watch this team in the upcoming season.
What hate about these breakdowns is the fact they do them way too quickly. I’ve watched their breakdown on the Cowboys for several years and they don’t do enough research to accurately speak on things. Can y’all just reach to someone in Cowboys Twitter or have someone on the show with you to properly discuss what’s going on with the team?
Playing chicken didn’t work with Dak last time, it won’t work this time lol
Decker reported as eligible
Trevon Diggs tore his Acl in week 3
My brother, you're not alone in this.
Not getting those extensions done and having all the coaches on 1-year deals is just cheap and foolish.
"Cheap and foolish" is the Jones family motto
Cheap yes, foolish meh. They’ve done a good job building this team and couldn’t get it done with all they had, I say blow it up or at least let players and coaches prove their worth. What is foolish is not getting anything for Dak if u are indeed letting him go
@@Willthethrill478I think the trading Dak idea has to be shelved for at least this year. I just can't think of any glaring openings for him, largely due to what it would cost to get him.
I'm basically discounting all other NFC teams.

AFC North:
Cincinnati- has Burrow, no chance
Cleveland- locked in with Watson, probably never making a trade like that again

Jacksonville- just extended Lawrence
Houston- Stroud
Indi- Richardson. I guess, if he turns out to be an rg3 situation?
AFC East:
Jets- Maybe, if Rodgers gets hurt at some point before week 9
Bills- Josh Allen... nope
Dolphins- Dak is better than Tua, but is it by so much that they'll pay what it would cost to get him?
Patriots- just drafted Maye
AFC West:
Chiefs- nope
Broncos- after the Russell Wilson experience, and just drafting Nix... Nope
Chargers- Herbert, nope.
Raiders- actually makes some sense

This sort of "win the superbowl or we will blow it all up" is reminds me of the 1993 Houston Oilers. Both teams lost in brutal fashion in the playoffs the year prior, both brought in new well respected DCs. I dont think this season will be as dramatic as the 1993 Oilers, but still, this is boom or bust for Dallas.
That Football Life popped in my feed this morning and I just watched it. Funny I saw this comment because I’ve had the exact same thought
Thank Goodness Jerry Jones doesn't care about winning like he cares about money - else the league would be in trouble! #OnePride
Why do the Cowboys gotta be the Cowboys? Because Jerry Jones.
Looking back at the NFC East last season, the Niners beat the absolute shit out of this division with the exception of NY, who put up somewhat of a good fight😂
The eagles put up a good fight until like, the 4th qtr. You forgot.
Brett & EJ you’re late but we still love you!

Yeah, you can go ahead and put an asterisk next to that perfect regular season home record
At this point I legitimately feel like the Cowboys are actually cursed. Mike McCarthys and Dan Quinn in the playoffs was inexcusable. I don't blame all the losses on Dak.

I didn't realize the Cowboys got Royce Freeman, but if you did my question is why go out and get Ezekiel Elliott? Royce Freeman is like a Walmart version of Ezekiel Elliott so having them on the same team is redundant.
Just a couple thoughts after listening (very good video btw)
-McCarthys offense was significantly better than it has been in the past (Kellen Moore remained the bane of my existence) but I do feel like we gave him a bit more credit than he deserves. Sure he added some motion and more modernness to his game but it still lacked that extra bit of killer instinct. I feel, like it’s been since I was born in the late 90s, that the players are carrying relatively incompetent coaches. It was just the fact that whenever we got matched by a tough defense everything folded. The fact they didn’t move on from McCarthy kinda told me all I needed to know
-I’m excited for Zimmer because I think he brings that asshole kinda mantra that Quinn didn’t, I love Quinn and appreciate everything he did but just like the offense when he felt overmatched and out coached it was just not a pretty sight. Zimmer may not bring the production Quinn did but I do think in terms of actually winning the games they need to I think that’s where Zimmer helps a lot.
-Y’all have him his flowers but I don’t think people understand how much Dak elevates this team. His season last year was special man
-I think the losses of guys like Kearse, Armstrong and Biadasz are a bit overblown. Guys like Izzy and Juanyeh will step into Kearse roll and I don’t think that’ll be a huge loss while Sam Williams and Kneeland fill in for Fowler and Armstrong
-it was actually refreshing to not hear the tired Zeke takes.
4 games vs the giants and redskins who were using linemen off the streets helps too.
DAK NOT CARRRYING?
LETS GIVE UP 200 RUSH YARDS
SURELY WE'LL WIN LOL

Cowboys have been the worst team in the past 20 years with the amount of talent that has walked through the doors and no championship

I usually ask. “Who in these comments has watched their team have success as an adult”. Let’s limit discussions just to a standard of you actually saw the success during adulthood. That’s reasonable. Jet fans can’t wave around their Super Bowl win. It was too long ago. There has to be a cutoff.

Didn't drop a game at home until it mattered
Cowboys won’t be dreadful but won’t be great this year. As per usual. Still not done anything try try to stop the run.
It's kinda crazy because they used to be the team that spent the most money in the 90s.
They lost to the CARDINALS!!!! Check those numbers again. Blown out in playoffs.
Right because thats a dumb idea
Same ol' song and dance man. Jerry had opportunities to build a team on a 'cheap' quality QB with Romo and Dak that feel on his lap and he never made the most of it even in financial terms. Hell instead of just giving Dak a good long term deal, he kept cheaping it out until Dak's value went high that he wants a contract to reset the market. So now Jerry gets to live a world once again where he has no long term starting QB.
This is the best title haha being a cowboys fan I hope you guys know some upside I don't know.

You talk the same thing what if ..... just bad coaching you play to win the game. Not putting up stats!
Jerry Jones = More successful NFL version of Jerry Reinsdorf?
If the cowboys don’t have a great running game and offense line it’s over 6-11
I could see 5-6 wins if Dak, Lamb, or Parsons gets hurt.
