@@eliogarcia3963 - when I saw his TV show, it was late 1950's because I was in secondary college at the time and as I've been a working concert performer for most of my life, I learned a lot from watching how he presented himself in his shows plus one or two mannerisms which worked for me later on TV as well.
@@Imzack1 - Thank you for the complement. I've had a life in professional music, largely aided and by the enthusiasm and showmanship of Liberace. He was my musical mentor in my younger days and I'm now fast approaching a young 80. 😄
This dear man made so many people just so happy watching him play that piano with such ease, he didn't even look at the keys a lot of the time , what a master musician who played such beautiful music. A wonderful talented and humble truly fine gentleman .
These 50's performances are wonderful. They are so innocent and respectful of the source material. A very diligent fellow who sought to entertain people, but always bring good music forward. It would be hard to do this same type of thing today; so little interest in instrumental music except in europe for jazz. We have straight up symphony hall recitals of great pianists. I think YoYoMa is the closest we have to liberace today in terms of a wide range of music styles brought forward in collaborations with a variety of people.
What is so amazing about Liberace, you never see a piece of music in front of him. What an incredible memory he had to be able to play so many 100s of pieces of music without any musical score in front of him make him one of the greatest pianists ever .
I agree with u all let us all pray we get rid of wicked virus soon his music. And my best friend and my daughter are keeping me going I am in do much pain
They interviewed the people who lived with him in his house (maids, friends, etc..) apparently, the man never practiced. Went directly to the shows and started playing. Now thats incredible
How I miss these years of listening to Liberace play. His playing was always elegant, and beautiful. He also had the most wonderful technique, coupled with very strong arm and finger strength, and very good posture. besides being very talented, he was also taught well...Peace!
He was magique to ear wen he play never we gone a see a man bring the music and the piano so wonderful I remember him wen I was young is was spectacular.,🌹
5:53pm. Magistral, genial. Liberace,único como Pianísta de excepcional talento musical y humano. Nunca habrá otro , como él. Ha hecho escuela en mí. Honor a su memoria,y mi gratitud, para él, por siempre, amén.
Lovely to see Liberace enjoying himself. When the dancer came on, his face lit up because I think sometimes that musicians enjoy seeing the physical manifestation of the music. Although it is heavily edited, it is a wonderful piece of film and the dancer makes the best of the limited space that television, in those days, had available.
Liberace was a prodigy and a virtuoso and a very fine musician.Anyone who says otherwise knows nothing about piano playing nor music. What talent and enjoyment he brought in his music. What a difference with today's mediocre "talent" of so many so- called "artists". There is no comparison of today's crap with this man.
Some other nasty person also said of him on another youtube video, "another pedophile" and whoever said it obviously doesn't know the meaning of the word.
At a bar in Boca Raton that I went to on occasion, probably about 1986, I expressed my admiration for Liberace's talent. A guy at the bar wanted to beat me up!
My man, Jean Micault, concert pianist and a pupil of Alfred Cortot, always told that Liberace was a fantastic pianist and when himself spoke about Liberace he got stupid reactions from his colleagues. Pure jealousy : Liberace had a real beautiful sound, incredible technic, sensibility and intelligence. His polish-ukrainian roots made him a musician, a great musician in all sense of term.
I like what you wrote, and agree, but hesitantly. After all, I am 85 years old, and the piece does not last too long. Just so the death and the end of the piece don't come together/Would you mind if I just listen a number of times before dying?. donrjr

I agree with u all praising wonderful Liberace and am sick of the stupid brain dead Moran's who slag him off because they believe the.nasty untrue spiteful lies about him take ones mind off coronavirus scare xxx
I'm not a fan of the orchestral accompaniment here - think it detracts from his piano playing Btw was astonished to find that the dancer is still with us having later became an actress and appeared in at least one Star Trek movie!
I used to race home from college every Friday afternoon to watch this genius on television. I'm now 78 and I'm still blown away by his artistry.
Гениальная- это музыка Чайковского❤
What years was his show?

Liberace Mr. Showmanship from Las Vegas. ❤
He never looks like he's actually trying - beauty just flows, from his hands, from other musicians, from the dancers...
Agree
Teachers constantly scream not to look at keyboard ( how could one sightread?)

Didn't know it at the time but this man began my interest and appreciation in classical music that is still strong at 80 years old.
This type of performance are so rare in ourdays, and this type of star have faded away

He's not even looking at the keys, he's watching the dancer! Beyond genius...
Right. Great
And he never misses, either. Robotic precision with astounding ease.

I know and whatever the audience asked him to play, he obliged. No sheet music at all, awesome man!
Maybe he was predestined to do this. He was born with a caul over his head.
Last true pianist

Simply marvelous.
Liberace and Spike Jones inspired my interest in classical music with there 1950's TV shows.

Me encanta como admira a los otros artistas, muy humilde y gentil de su parte, no es como otros.
Bellísimo!!!!!!
Tchaikovsky and Liberace. Music does not get any better than this!
Oh my word.Thank you Liberace for.playing one of my favourites. Waltz of the Flowers. !!!!!
From my point of view, Valentino LIBERACE is an extraordinary and wonderful American pianist. Marvelous!

Enchanting!
Es algo esplendoroso como ayuda la música a gozar la vida que tenemos gracias a Dios y a quien lo comparte desdeChile un abrazo grande 🇨🇱🥰
Do not worry, it's just another work of two perfections, Tchaikowski and Liberace.
Everything he does is magic:)
GREAT TALENT. GREAT SHOWMANSHIP. BADLY MISSED.
Someone once asked him if he could play the Minute Waltz in 30 seconds. He answered something like, 'Let's see", then he did it.
Now this is art
Great pianist.
The ballet dancer was wonderful...😊
Wilda Taylor is still with us at age 88. She continued an acting career into the early 2000s.
Virtuoso, entertainer, arranger. A triad classical musicians are lacking A LOT.
Very nice indeed.
