My grandmother knew Liberace and we went to several shows in NYC at Radio City Music Hall. One year when I was 4, he took off his diamond cursive “£” pin and gave it to me. I still have it and wear it when my husband and I go to the opera, the ballet or somewhere formal. He was quite lovely and kind to me.
This was entertainment and Liberace knew exactly how to entertain his audiences. Nothing today can even come close to this style of entertainment and there are no performers who can come close to Liberace.
I would stop saying "Liberace is the best" if it was possible for someone to fill his slot but it will never happen because they don't make celebrities like they used to do
sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
He brought such beauty to the world through his performances and joy to the senses of his audience. One of kind....a true artist. God bless you Mr. Liberace.
I always loved hearing Liberace play he would get it so wonderfully and his whole body was you could see the whole music flowing through his body I hope you keep showing more of the Liberace as much as you can because I would really love to hear him play ever since I was a little kid I used to hear him and his brother on TV
Liberace did it best. And he did it more lavishly than anyone else. He was one of a kind, and awesomely talented. His glitz and glamour remain iconic and nobody has ever compared. RIP Liberace, you were the master of the ivories.
Nice, damn nice. Liberace was the best at what he did. I enjoyed the hell out of watching this video. Liberace was the most flamboyant entertainer whoever lived, an extremely good looking, talented man who was forever in tune with his every audience.
I loved to watch him waaaaaay back when I was seven years old- positive vibes from this man. He made you forget what got you down. Mesmerized then, mesmerized now. I will always have these memories!
Liberace put life in music on the piano. I believe these gifted composers of the past would be proud and delighted with Liberace’s performance of their music. Bravo !
i met him at a rest. fifty years ago a very nice man seemed like a very kind man years later i won a piano compettion he had in 1980 a great experience may he rest in peace
Liberace was without a doubt the best piano player known, he should have been knighted for the brilliant and unique style of music he brought to the world.
Good entertainer but nonsense to say he was a great pianist. He was a very good pianist but nowhere near the standard of very best classical concert pianists, be it past or present.
Do you really believe for decades millions of people around the world are wrong, but you are right! I guess you must be the genius . jealousy will get you nowhere Ha Ha
Oh my God! What a performance. A true talent. A wonderful genius of music. This performance took me into another world. Wonderful masterpiece. Thank you for uploading this. Thank you!
He was an eccentric but what a loveable, sweet eccentric with charisma, class and old world charm. I love individualists with their own style. I miss him...
Hi Vilda, thank you so much for your kind encouragement. It inspires me to continue uploading these clips, I'm pleased that I've received such a good response from posting them. Thanks again.
Thanks for finding these they really are amazing Lee was wonderful and needs to be experienced by everyone even if you weren't there in real time because of TH-cam we can all enjoy artist of the past like Liberace
Liberace was a wonderful person and an amazing pianist. Thank you for posting these videos so we can all enjoy them! I love them so much but there hard to find. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Lee , all I want to tell you is I was 13 years old when you passed away and you're very messed my mother played your music every day in our home and all I can tell you what gave me much inspiration and you are a beautiful person , no one in this world will ever be able to touch you you're well missed
Ahh, let us just go back to those early days of television and watch, listen, and enjoy the Absolute Master of the Grand Piano, "Liberace", weave his magic fingers over the keyboard! In my humble opinion, there is none better.
Dear Mr. Liberace, or Sir, as some would have it. You 'were' a genius, plain and simple. To this day, I would ask, show me another who can do what you did, and I would have no problem leaving you behind. No one has ever come close and I don't think anyone ever will.
***** You are absolutely right. I, too have seen more than a few pianists who were as good or better than Liberace. Silly thing is, as much as I love their music, I can't remember any of their names.
+Gui Serbee thats because he had flair, showmanship and pizazz....and he was in show biz. he just had that stage presence. and of course he had talent and a certain x factor
Jon England My apologies for taking so long to reply. I just wanted to say thank you. So many people wish to argue, degrade or otherwise prove me wrong. We, as human beings find joy in so many things and yet, when Liberace took to the stage, you knew you were in for something very special.
Remember when television entertainment meant something? I was nearly moved to tears watching this. Not by the music, but by my own sentimentality over what was presented to TV audiences years ago. The talent, the care that went into the show as a production. Alas, gone now. I did get to see this kind of thing on TV when I was growing up, when I was far too young and dumb to appreciate it. A rare joy to see it again.
The only man who could ever be so entertaining while playing the piano that I feel as if I am disrespecting him if I look away. Mr Showman, there could not have been a better name for him.
Hi Tom, funny that you mention that. I have the same feeling: That it would be disrespectful to Liberace if I didn't watch the YT video until the end. He really puts me in awe of his talent, always, also when he is singing, dancing or in a sketch. 😊🙋♀️
Good entertainer but nonsense to say he was a great pianist. He was a very good pianist but nowhere near the standard of very best classical concert pianists, be it past or present.
+Kat Pun I have quite a few from my PC. I knew his brother George, who lived in San Fernando Valley. Not far from me. He had no talent. lol. Liberace I believe is Italian. His devotion to his mother always moved me. He is indeed a genius. I loved dancing waltz's for many years. Also the polka's. I married an Italian man, and he could really dance. I think that is what kept us together for 24 years. How I wish Liberace were still here, to see in person. RIP.
You are right, dear Beth Miletti. Liberace was a piano genius. He is my favourite pianist. I love watching his performance... very enjoyable!! Though I do not know him, I think he is a very nice person. And I will always remember his smiling face. May he rest in peace!! And thank you so much for your wonderful comments, Beth!!🎹🎵
A great artist and entertainer. As a young boy in the '50's, I would go to the movies every Saturday. It didn't really matter what was playing, I would just go. I saw Liberace's film, "Sincerely Yours". All the patrons there were mature ladies.
one very underestimated pianists of all tine,, fantastic liberace,,i just love to watch him play..full of fun too,,, r.i,p.....he was truly mr showmanship,,music still lingers on,,
Listen, to the tones of that piano. C sharp, Mr Liberace. May heaven be intwind with your enchanting abilities. He seemed to enjoy what he brought forth.
That was a beautiful example of his music and imagination, quite an unexpected production 😊he was ridiculed by some arrogant purists, but he taught millions about classical music in a way they enjoyed as well as loved. Our world was a better place because he was here.
I can't watch Liberace without my heart breaking all aver again. There never was, nor will there ever be, anyone like him. I'm not sure everyone appreciates his full breadth of talent. He could play Frederick Chopin or the Tiger Rag with equal skill and gusto. He was the most stylish and gifted entertainer of our age.
He’s so friendly and happy. ❤
Oh how wonderful .. great memories you have. I would loved to meet him.
Great story. Thanks for sharing.
The piano comes to life Liberace love you forever😂❤
He was magnificent. He was so talented and most of all, kind. I believe he had a heart of gold.
Wonderful warm smile. You cant help but adore him.
Just a brilliant pianist and a wonderful showman. Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️
A real genius at the piano he had fun using his talent to make beautiful music he made it look so easy didn’t he.
This was entertainment and Liberace knew exactly how to entertain his audiences. Nothing today can even come close to this style of entertainment and there are no performers who can come close to Liberace.
Some overstyle might be due to the USA, the country where you should bear an opulent behaviour!
I would stop saying "Liberace is the best" if it was possible for someone to fill his slot but it will never happen because they don't make celebrities like they used to do
Andre Rieu comes somewhat close, but true still a lot behind.
Nice though to watch a Rieu show as well.
JoelM,
LangLang tries his best to copy his flair...
sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know a trick to get back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
He brought such beauty to the world through his performances and joy to the senses of his audience. One of kind....a true artist. God bless you Mr. Liberace.
I was so fortunate to see him live. There was no one better
I always loved hearing Liberace play he would get it so wonderfully and his whole body was you could see the whole music flowing through his body I hope you keep showing more of the Liberace as much as you can because I would really love to hear him play ever since I was a little kid I used to hear him and his brother on TV
AMEN!
He was such a showman and always so much fun to watch and boy could he ever tickle the ivories.
Never did he need sheet music absolutely fabulous a true geniuses, gentleman and showman God Bless
I bet he was just fun to hang out with! Very kind, and great sense of humor!
Absolutely brilliant performance. A musical genius who is terribly missed
Liberace did it best. And he did it more lavishly than anyone else. He was one of a kind, and awesomely talented. His glitz and glamour remain iconic and nobody has ever compared. RIP Liberace, you were the master of the ivories.
Perfect entertainment of its kind - and he could actually dance!
This is beautiful, what an amazing entertainer he was
Nice, damn nice. Liberace was the best at what he did. I enjoyed the hell out of watching this video. Liberace was the most flamboyant entertainer whoever lived, an extremely good looking, talented man who was forever in tune with his every audience.
I love his small talk at the beginning, he is so likable and relatable.
Awww. My love. He was so amazing.
Nobody has ever come close to the talent of Liberace, on the piano he is the king
How he melts the notes together is brilliant.
Liberace was way ahead of his time. He was incredibly talented!
I loved to watch him waaaaaay back when I was seven years old- positive vibes from this man. He made you forget what got you down. Mesmerized then, mesmerized now. I will always have these memories!
BEAUTIFUL !!!!
Not only an amazing musician to the highest standard but looks like a very good ballroom dancer too! I am always blown away by this incredible man!
I never cease to be amazed by this great man..Rest in Peace, dear Lee

Aww so beautiful. Brings tears. If ever there was a legend it is/was this gentle MAN.
Amazing he made all his piano playing so interesting he could tell you something about it

Liberace put life in music on the piano. I believe these gifted composers of the past would be proud and delighted with Liberace’s performance of their music. Bravo !
For bringing back memories of watching you with my Granma. Thank you "Lee" ❤
Very exceptional. Thank you for sharing. Love it.

He was more than an excellent pianoiplayer - all by heart! A comparison with classical piano players don't reach his ability!
Loved his playing miss it so 😭😭😭😭
Not only does his mastery of the piano take our breath away he dances a mean waltz as well.
My thoughts exacty!
Exactly, of course.
Margaret Elvis
era un genio, eso era un pianista.
and when we compare that to the awful dances that our young do , theres absolutely no comparison about which is classy and beautiful.
There will never be anyone like Lee Liberace
Boy, that is for sure! A Master Pianist!
So wonderful was his improvisational skill that there was no like him.
Oh my God! What a performance. A true talent. A wonderful genius of music. This performance took me into another world. Wonderful masterpiece. Thank you for uploading this. Thank you!
John, you have no idea what you're talking about.
Yes, he does, Gregg, you're the one showing ignorance. Mind Mother, Hon. If you can't think of something nice to say, then shut the fuck up.
I enjoy the tidbits of history of music that he added into his perfomances
Liberace is one of the most charming guys I know of
Love this and the way he plays it.
He was an eccentric but what a loveable, sweet eccentric with charisma, class and old world charm. I love individualists with their own style. I miss him...
He was a good entertainer and showman, but not one of the a GREAT Classical pianist's of his time as some placing comments on here seem to think.
Liberace was the best! Thank you for this video
Hi Vilda, thank you so much for your kind encouragement. It inspires me to continue uploading these clips, I'm pleased that I've received such a good response from posting them. Thanks again.

+Gui Serbee And there, Mr. Serbee, is your point exACTLY..... Liberace is MEMORABLE, above all else :-)
***** i dont think liberace was essentially a concert pianist. he was 100% a showman..of the highest degree..
Jon England My apologies for taking so long to reply. I just wanted to say thank you. So many people wish to argue, degrade or otherwise prove me wrong. We, as human beings find joy in so many things and yet, when Liberace took to the stage, you knew you were in for something very special.

Liberace is pure Magic, the Greatest of all Time
What a great smile!
Liberace could handle all sorts of music,,jazz, boogie woogie classics, no other pianist will ever come close to his talent
Many can and a lot better as well. Great entertainer but NOT a world class pianist as he would have said himself.
@@lovemetu world class indeed👌
OMG!!! Stupidity reigns supreme!
1st hear him, as a kid 70s,! when my late gran liked him,!!
What a fabulous talent. Lee was a great entertainer and everybody's friend.

@@cathrinrehder6652 Exactly! You have to let the man finish before you can move on😤
He was so much fun! My mother loved him and saw him twice in Vegas
He was wonderful at the piano!!
Fantastic as always!
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Best pianist of all. Chopin would adore him.
Good entertainer but nonsense to say he was a great pianist. He was a very good pianist but nowhere near the standard of very best classical concert pianists, be it past or present.
I suppose the closest we have today is André Rieu with his shows.
Truly amazing. You know, he was the highest paid artist and entertainer of them all in the 50s, 60s, and the 70s!
Liberace played "The Blue Danube" on piano wonderfully !! I would like to dedicate it to the ones who love Waltz.

It’s too bad when we appreciate someone for his talent after that person is gone. All we have left is their recordings to back their memories!
my late gran liked him,,!! rip gran 1988,! , i born 1968,!
Regardless of his sexuality, he was Mr. Showmanship! No one can ever deny that!
Just wonderful!
