I was working for a business machine company in Southern California during the late 70's. We had a service call for a repair at a Country Club in Palm Springs one day so I made the drive out. When I got there, it was just after noon and there were a lot of older gentleman in the building. Any way, after I finished the service call, one of the men asked me if I was hungry, as they had a real nice lunch menu and he would buy me lunch. At first I tried to excuse myself, but he was kindly insistent. I accepted, but was a bit shy about it. The man, by this time I realized I recognized him, but couldn't quite put a name to his face, walked me to the dining room and told the Maitre D' that he was buying my lunch and to give me anything I wanted. It was then I finally realized, THAT"S LIBERACE !!!! I stood there a bit, totally star struck, but accepted his hand-shake and couldn't thank him enough. I I asked him if he didn't mind if I could get his autograph, he then said, "you go ahead and eat, I'll leave something for you in the office, make sure you check with them before you leave". On the way out, I stopped in the office and the woman who worked there gave me an envelope that had Liberace's photo and an personal autograph.
