What it would sound like to someone sat next to you (key noise, air going through the mouthpiece and so on?) this may be a large factor to wether I want to buy this or not. At the moment there’s lots of polished edited videos, or one of a performance of the sound through midi, but I would like to hear what it would sound like if someone was playing with headphones on and I was stood nearby.

Just build a noise room or a padded shed in the garden the travel sax is a gimmick it was the same with Lyons clarinet and now no one buys it.
@@romanchomenko2912 I live in a one bed flat in London, with my girlfriend and I've never played sax before, there's zero option for me to build a noise room or shed (that much room and money is a total pipe dream for most) and definitely can't learn with a normal sax in our small flat with numerous neighbours all around, not without my girlfriend leaving me anyway :D. I bought a Travel Sax so I could learn an instrument without having everyone hate me for being so noisy. If it's a gimmick, then I think it's an incredible gimmick and anyone in a similar situation to me will love this thing! I've just learned my first entire song and very chuffed with it.

Doesn't the use of a real mouthpiece and reed without an instrument just create the same horrific squealing as playing just a mouthpiece alone?!? How do you stop that noise? Does it take a special modified mouthpiece that prevents the reed from vibrating, or are you just supposed to play it with so relaxed an embouchure it doesn't sound?

I'm perplexed as to why I can't find any videos longer than a minute or two of anyone playing the Travel Sax. I really want to know what this instrument really sounds like before I spend my hard earned money on one. If it's as good as you say, you are doing your business a huge disservice by not showcasing what it can do. Do the sax voices sound like actual saxophones? Do you offer any type of warranty for this product? Is there a customer service department? How about durability? Are they made with a 3-D printer? These are important and legitimate questions to the consumer. Inquiring minds want to know. Thank you for your time.

But on the EWI you can play vibrato
It's not a saxophone, it's a midi controller that you active by blowing. Big difference, i.e. this instrument won't register timbre and pitch changes in the mouthpiece.

It's impossible to work on tone or intonation without an actual saxophone, so this is not a replacement for that. It's for working on stuff like technique or improvisation.

My one or two questions are, how would someone switch from the travels sax to a real sax. Cause if someone is playing a bari sax on that then they get a real bari sax, wouldn't be harder for them cause they dont know how to hold it or how far the keys are? My second question, couldn't there be a headphone Jack on the travel sax itself so you can plug it in your self and play with out connecting to your phone and can you also choose the sax you are playing on the travel sax?

I feel like this is such a misleading video. I think you should state very clearly that this is a midi controller, made from printed plastic that may bend and break . It doesn't matter what mouthpiece you have in, what read or even if you have any of that , the sound is produced by electronics triggered by the air you blow, just like any other midi controller of which the are a lot . Somehow you market yourself as a sax practicing tool and avoid comparison against other midi controllers of a similar kind ... What is it that you practice, if that is marketed as a practice tool ? I hate giving bad comments , but so many people are misled by these videos filled with catchy statements like: you can use your own mouthpiece and reed .... Why would you want to do that ??? It does not produce any sound , it's not a sax, this a simple.midi controller wrapped around cheap 3d printed plastic.

I'm a Japanese unnamed amateur saxophone playe, Kazuhisa Mori. Sure enough, there's no place to play the saxophone, so I'm in trouble. Your product is very interesting and its features and design are very attractive. All existing other wind-synthesizers are particularly badly designed. I feel that this “Travel Sax" is exceptionally beautiful. Also, the idea of using a real mouthpiece is so great.
However, I am worried about the current trade situation. I think this is a question I often hear, but do you accept orders from Japan? If so, how soon does it arrive?

The sax looks pretty nice, but i dont like the sounds in the app... Other e-saxophones like the Yamaha YDS have much more natural sounds. Maybe you can work on that. 😅

Sucks i can’t have one i am first chair tenor sax in my jazz band and my mom hates the sax and says i can’t bring it home as it is annoying and she won’t buy me anything related with the sax good thing my band director let me use a school sax and gives me reeds

Nice idea. But you actually only develop your fingering skills, there is no such thing as build up and strengthening of your embouchure. MIght as well buy yourself a curved soprano, almost just as portable at hardly half of the price and get the real saxophone experience. and if that is too loud learn to play soft (great for building your embouchure) and/or put a cloth in the bell.

Odisei Music Sorry, let me clarify. The amount of air to make a note for each saxophone is different, and they all have their differences in the air flow. Could Travel Sax be able to mimic these traits?

che mi ha dato è stata quella di avere in mano un oggetto che da un
momento all'altro si potesse rompere. Io non so come facciano a vendere
un oggetto così fragile stampato in 3 d a un prezzo sproporzionato.
Avevo acquistato anche un tubicino ricurvo in plastica al prezzo di
25,00 euro...pazzesco! era grande come un dito di una mano. Rispedito in
quanto non si connetteva allo smartphone ma se fosse stato funzionante
lo avrei rispedito indietro ugualmente. Non ho avuto il piacere di
suonarlo in quanto come detto sopra non si connetteva all'app, ma
ascoltando qualche video qui su youtube il suono è veramente orribile,
I'm sorry to tell that, but it's not more than a toy. There is no way you can learn to play SAXOPHONE with a help of this "plastic-fantastic" thing because of incorrect embochure which is all about muscle tention. Even for experienced musicians this $hit will not help to get any level higher, and i can tell that it will never simulate saxophone mechanical work as well. Sorry, but it's just a waste of money.
@@odiseimusicofficial Yes, i'm a professional saxophone player and teacher, and for me it's clear that that thing is just a toy. Even if somebody wants to have a breath controlled midi device, there's plenty of AKAI instruments.
If you understand what is wind instrument learning about, the first thing is a tone and the last thing is fingering, which i'm sure you haven't made to feel like with real saxophone, so you practise to memorize your feelings and when you take your saxophone, you realize that you waste your time. That's it!
