Seems like they thought the interview was a bit goofy at first, with the one mike and what not, but they seemed to open up as the interview went on. Pretty good questions, also! Good job.
Great to see a fan interviewing the band! Trey looked impressed you recognized Mike's DWD tone at @5:26. The band was cracking me up in Part I and Part II of this interview, reminding me of cheeky Beatles television interviews. But I especially loved the end credits with Junta's Golgi playing. The text font and the song give the whole thing the feel of a 90's sitcom. Well done!
ive watched this interview a few times and for some reason i always crack up when mike goes "ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh.."
I wish I would have gotten into Phish when you made this comment 10 years ago. Here I am 20 years old seeing Phish for the first time at Mondegreen this year. My mom saw them a few times in college because her friends were Phans. Guess when that was… 95-98. I live vicariously through her 😅
If you do NOT have a recording of the 6-19-94 Kalamazoo concert, FIND it (It's easy to find and download a tight snappy AUD of this). The Antelope is off the fucking hook - and the whole show smokes. The audience sounds very dosed, and the band feeds off the energy. June 1994 may be the wildest, sickest month in PHiSH history. 6-11, 6-18, 6-22 are all in my top 10 favorite shows, and this one is right up near them.
I LIVE about 4 or 5 miles from state theater. i've seen some great shows there...wilco, the ramones, john mellencamp, r.e.m. in 1985, sam kinison, todd rundgren, to name a few.
Trey 94: [keeps guitar rig simple] plays screaming solos Ffwd 5 years Trey 99: [rig has effects out the ass] plays solos filled with guitar loops that sound like bird calls
I don't know what I like so much about the early to mid 90's but this makes me smile!

trey is talking about the 6.18.94 bowie->MLB jam->bowie at UIC. so dope.
Absolutely timeless! Thx for posting! The REAL Phish before '97
I wish someone would have told me about Phish earlier, so I could have seen them in venues like these for $15. *feels slighted

Dude. You rock. You should try to interview them again in 2014 for a 20 year reunion. You are badass.
I love this idea. And start the interview with showing them a video of this interview. See if they have memory of it.
Time for that 30 year anniversary interview
wow, this was right after the first 'Chicago 94' concert
First time I saw them was exactly one month prior to this interview.
