2004 Phish makes me sad, but then I see amazing footage like this. I'm glad it wasn't all misery at that time. And also that the music never stopped after this ✌🏻 I realized Bittersweet Motel, Specimens of Beauty, and Between Me and My Mind are the Phish Trilogy. ‘90s, ‘00s, and ‘10s. Seems we’re due another documentary for the Sigma Oasis/Beacon Jams era soon 🤞🏻Hello from 3.0!
forum.phish.net/forum -in case you don't know of this site; Phish fanatics, info on all shows, song histories, etc etc. Good folks celebrating the joy and genius of Phish!
just gotta show him what he wants to hear. truth be told i wasnt too into phish until someone said, "hey you like funk though right? check out the island tour from 98" after that i learned to appreciate all the other stages of it too.
You know makes it great? It's that Trey lets it swim, especially in the beginning. I have always said the best jams are usually when Trey decides to stfu for a few and let the rhythm section groove. When Trey chimes in with just a melody or sounds, it's the best phish imo. Let the groove happen, and THEN blow me away. Pretty much what Mike has been saying. Play fewer notes. Wank just a tad less Trey and groove just a bit more. Still, he's a rock God and my all time favorite.
prague ghost for example, quite a few ghosts actually :) one I saw at Radio City ripped, but yes agreed Fishman is such a treadure and Mike and page are so Tasteful in what layers they add that Treys endless creativity is best applied in that format imo as well :) 12/7/95 slave is just phish encapsulated. Love the bold as love cover from Paris 2./18/97 too just so clean powerful but succinct doesn't stray.
It's a perfect example of what Ive been saying for a long time; the best jams/grooves come when Trey can just shut the F up, so to speak. The first 1/3rd of this jam Trey plays very few notes and mainly just lets it swim...which allows the rhythm section to really lay it down and have their own voices, and it shines. Dynamically this perfectly sets the stage for the shredding to commence later. We can build to something. Mike agrees that Trey plays too many notes btw, *See Bittersweet Motel
thats when you know its gettin funky like page standin and trey cluckin, lol i love ol phish........... and new phish, its all different and all awesome as can be......thats why phish is an awesome band....plz
@muleskinmcnugent I have this on my Itunes as Barn Jam. Always wonder'd where it came from. I knew I saaw the Vid somewhere. Lost this DVD a LONG time ago. Know I know!!!
@Sensigrf Nothing. But it changed a lot when actually recorded, still a great song. but i love that page lick in this video and the fish drumming. great tune none-the-less
my wish for 2015 summer tour is they start to play some groovy bluesy arrangements like the jam at 11:15... clean guitar tone that just sings and sings. Im done with all his weird filter effects. I would rather have a clean tone full of loops then a muddied filter effect that makes his guitar always sound like its straining to reach the heights we all know he can shred at.
Trey being insistent, saying “let’s just go jam” is so dope
One of the best guitar solos ever
Dude, Fishman NEVER stops talking about nothing. hilarious

Yes indeedy.

The bonus DVD was even cooler than the CD.

11:20 on is PURE BLISS.

Such a sweet little jam at 11:15- 13:35.
jerry and trey both consistently say "you know what I mean?" coincidence? i think not

I think you are fixated. You know what I mean?
+nilram gnomesayin?
Timothy Christopher sayinsayinsayin
Hendrix did the same thing. I think smarter people have a hard time communicating with most inferior intellects. It's a different form of language.
thats when you know its gettin funky like page standin and trey cluckin, lol i love ol phish........... and new phish, its all different and all awesome as can be......thats why phish is an awesome band....plz
Fishman's drum cave has no numbers. Trey likes to practice. Page we love you don't worry.

'if i went and saw phish, id be watchin fish'
Like your a big group of Africans playing drums together, which is kind of what you are
The jam at the end should have been on the album.
It's a jam to 46 Days, so it kind of is.
@@kevinb311 This was recording footfage from Undermind not Round Room.

They do -- that jam is the origination of 46 Days
*THAN, not then.
Trey is a SAVANT (11:00-end). The incredible thing is that is that he is socially functional taboot.
Poor trey just looks smack-a-doodle-doo'd in this. Glad he's sober now
ohhhh oh oh 11:45
welcome, friend :)
What's your favorite Phish song?
Fishman's understanding of geometry is limited tbh
