My Grandparents brought me there when I was small, 8yo. I loved the tortoni for dessert.

It's very good comfort food... they do a great job at Chef's. However, it's not high end and then, some similar scale restaurants I've been to have been superior (Like the Oaks Inn in Endicott NY).
Not a negative review - but for people not familiar with the area, Chef's is a nice place to hit before a Sabre's game or concert downtown. I'd recommend Lombardo's, maybe Sinatra's (but mileage may vary), or even Giancarlo's.

I thought the food was amazing when I ate there. This shows not about saying "this is the only restaurant" in the area. It's about highlighting spots people should know about. Every area has 10-20 awesome independent restaurants of varying degrees. No matter where you go there will always be a restaurant that's better or worse than others, that doesn't mean those restaurants aren't solid picks. We all have different tastes and budgets :)

everything there is "delicioso" however , the real test is to sample the meatballs and marinara , 'cause that defines an authentic Italian (or Sicilian) restaurant !!! ... be sure to tell the Chef "molte grazie" before leaving 'cause that's what "Famiglia" does !!!

I can understand those who have not had real Italian food love the place. Having been in a long term relationship with an Italian I found it not that special, and definitely not as good as what I regularly get at home.

Exactly!!! Us from Bufflao avoid this place like covid and they have the audacity to sell that bullshit pasta sauce for over $4.00 per jar here in the supermarkets. If you want good Italian food in Buffalo go to mulberrys in Lackawanna if you must

Come on guy your supposed to be a food critic. You go to the restaurants with the biggest hype not the best food. Next you’ll be telling people the Anchor bar has the best wings in Buffalo, they don’t. Or Schwabl’s has the best Beef on Wick, they don’t. Try La Bella Sicilia on Genesee Street. Family own for 30 years has the best Italian in Western New York. My proof is how hard it is to find parking 7 days a week. Stop acting like a tourist and try real Buffalo food. Like the steak sandwich at The Old Pink. Ever go to Founding Fathers rated one of the best bars in the country. Try their hand cut fried bologna and onion sandwich. Most people from Buffalo will tell you Chefs is just average. That’s how good Buffalo food really is. It’s your job to find it.

Sauce is way to sweet and pasta over cooked unfortunately I prefer the pasta down the block at Seneca buffalo creek casino 😂
