Oh my gosh, I have never been able to make biscuits. I did this tonight and WOW!!!! They are delicious!! I will never be able to thank you enough. I did the recipe exactly as you said, and it was absolutely perfect even the amount of milk. I ended up just having those for dinner lol. I’m almost 80, and haven’t cooked for a long time. The things I will never be out of. Thank you thank you thank you.❤❤❤❤
I made these night before last and they actually lasted from dinner through breakfast the following morning (just my wife and I) but they made very filling biscuits and gravy! Thank you for sharing.
If you added sultanas , they would be known over the pond as Rock Buns or Rock Cakes as they are craggy and look like rocks , greetings from a sunny evening in leafy green Belfast 😊
Hello! My maternal grandparents were from Belfast. They came to America in the early 1900's. Granddad used to show me pictures of Belfast. He took a trip back in the 70's. Beautiful city.
I once grabbed the pepper instead of one of... salt, I think it was... realized the mistake & added the salt. But I have to say it was a tasty mistake, that pairs well with cream soups.
This is basically my cheddar bay biscuit dupe from "RL". Just add in a cup of cheddar, and brush with butter heated with garlic and voila. But, really, any biscuit is delicious!
Just don't use pre-chopped cheddar for 3 reasons: 1) It does not melt right due to coating 2) They won't taste as lush 3) that coating on store-bought cheddar is not healthy but I cannot remember why, (it took my memory?). ha ha
Use a cheese grader with the butter over the bowl and toss every so often and it makes it the right size. You can then use your block cheddar after than.
Just tried these biscuits and the result is awesome, in Saudi Arabia Texas chicken have these biscuits and I was searching the recipe with different names, now I came to know the real name.Temperature for my GE electric oven is 13 to 14.
Wow! This was perfect! It tasted heavenly. This was my first time making drop biscuits and I just love how easy it was. I made mine in an air fryer for 12 minutes at 200ºC but, it still tasted exactly how it was supposed to. I have been trying to find a biscuit recipe without buttermilk because I don't have buttermilk. When I saw you add regular whole milk, I did the biggest sigh of relief. 😂Thank you so much for this video! 😁
Oh wow, just had these biscuits and chicken pot pie soup for dinner! ❤ It was delicious!! 😋 And sooo easy!! I don’t understand why regular biscuits even exist 😂
You are super a cook. Your sweets as delicious as amazing. Marvelous outside is crunchy and inside is fluffy. The beautiful crusty has yellow of color.
I love watching u cook and giving tips to beginners like me and others! I have a very special connection with goin' to the kitchen and see my mom cooking delicious meals ☺️ so excited to see ur future recipes and hopefully can u remake ur Oreo cake! Also I would like to see u make a Pistachio cake! My mom loves pistachios and I would love to know the recipe! Again, ur great John!
Hi John, I love this video!!! I don't have a scoop so what amount of biscuit dough do I scoop out. Also as you were talking about the different items that can be added, how much cheese could one add to the recipe? Thank you for sharing your beautiful videos!!
Looks so good! Definitely trying it. How would you adjust the recipe if adding cheddar cheese and jalapeños? Can it be used for sweet biscuits with add ins like orange cranberry? I love your scones recipes but hate when they don’t come out shaped well. This is probably more my style. lol. Thanks John for your wonderful videos and recipes. 😊
Hey, John! Love your channel. You have improved my cooking by a lot, and we owe a debt of gratitude to you. I was wondering, do you go to Church? It is a lot of fun, especially the hymns; and your cooking would be a huge hit. Trust me.😉 Thank you for sharing these AMAZING recipes. I gave a friend of mine some of your recipes for her birthday. I would love to read your books. Keep up the good work!
Wow this recipe is so very similar to what in my country we would call coconut drops. It is made with a little more sugar and dried fruits like raisins as well as grated coconuts. Some ppl would also add ground cinimon and vanilla extract. It's a really nice snack for anytime of the day. It can even be had for breakfast. Lol
Can yiu make a video on how fo make a Nigerian dish called 'chin-chin'? It is basically a fried crunchy snack that is SOOO delicious! The secret ingredient being nutmeg just gives it a beautiful flavour.
What you could do is put them on a baking sheet with the parchment like he did and put them straight in the freezer. Keep in mind baking from frozen takes longer. I have been making biscuits 50 years and have never put the dough in the fridge and then formed and baked the next day.
You know I really really like your channel. I like you more. I wish you would please, please write your recipes in the description. Also, I'm old and don't know how to navigate other websites.. even when I click on the recipe line. I can't usually find the actual recipe. A whole bunch of other dishes pop up but???

I might also add a bit of chopped parsley too, to the biscuits or the butter you brush on, either way.

Chilling the flour in the freezer for a few min can help the butter granulation if you're working it in by hand or are in a particularly warm setting.
Yes! Just pre-ordered your recipe book. I have your first book in my kitchen, and I would love even more recipes!
I made these last weekend to go along with some homemade chicken chili and OMG these were delicious! Thank you!

How long can the batter last in the fridge? For example, if I want to make the night before, but not bake until the next day. Could I do that?😊
Guys help like so it gets higher.
I need to know too.

I do something similar but use a muffin pan instead.
Can i use water instead of milk? Or even something like oat/almond milk?
Thanks for the tips
