I can’t believe I didn’t think of this myself! Every Christmas I struggle to find gift bags to fit odd shaped toys and gifts. This is a perfect solution! I can custom fit any gift I want to give! Thank you so much Sherrill for another great tutorial. 😊
This bag overall looks very simple to make but I'm going to have to watch it again to see how you actually stitched that last step after you boxed the corners. This would be one way to use up a lot of stash even if it's not Christmas fabric you could use it for Christmas gifts and then the recipient has a nice bag to use for storage. Super super great idea and an excellent tutorial.
They're great & I was just thinking too with the large bag that if it was made with batting & quilted instead of sewing on the ribbon tie to it, to leave it free and that way it could get doubled up afterwards as a sleeping bag or small blanket for the younger ones. So when gifts are put into it, have it tied up so that afterwards it can be taken away for safety if used as a sleeping bag etc. I might have a go at this. Thank you so much for the inspiration xx
The gift bag could probably be used for double duty if you made it into a pillowcase. Tie it up at the top with pretty ribbon. Last Christmas, I gave my daughter in law a Christmas ornament in a pretty zippered pouch that she could use as a makeup bag or for odds and ends.
I had a thought...you could also take your small leftovers from other projects, sew them together (or sew them onto batting or another piece of fabric like for strip quilting) to make some bags. I'm also guessing that the big bags will be used for Parker. Lol.😉

I thought somewhere along the line it would’ve became a drawstring with the ribbon. Do you just tie the ribbon around the bag then to create the drawstring look. I’ve made the bag but now need to open the seam to get ribbon all the way through.
Hi Leanne. You can make it a draw string gift bag, or just tie the ribbon around the top. I wanted to keep the project very easy and simple. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
@@TheSewingRoomChannel I just tied it in the end, I just couldn’t figure out how it would look, but I was happy with it. That’s all my wrapping paper safely stored away until December! Thank you.

Another thought 🤔...I think it would be easier to cut out the corners to box the bottom.
