    My god, you have the best Motion tutorials on the internet, period. Thank you so much for creating them. Even though I have Adobe After Effects, I would much rather use Motion since I'm a FCPX user and Motion is a lot more optimized for macOS. Before you came around there were barely any recent, good tutorials for it. PLEASE continue making Motion tutorials!

    The icon you were clicking at 12:16 is for *changing the layer group from 2D layers* (what's on top of what is decided by layer order) *to 3D layers* (what's on top of what is decided by Z value).

    Doooooooooooood, this is so helpful. I've tried to use Motion so many times over the years and always found myself bogged down by all the options. This helped me get things sorted in my head a lot better. I'm using motion to tweak existing titles to create new ones that use specific client colors and fonts. This has been hugely helpful. Thx BRO!

    Hi Dylan - great tutorial on Motion. I liked the fact that you didn't edit out the parts of Motion that you weren't sure about. Because there are parts of a software package that some times we're just not sure, but we can make it do what we need it to do. I'll be sure to watch some of your other videos. All the very best, Cheers Rick

    I've always been sort of intimidated by Motion but you just made it look so doable, really appreciate this tutorial and what you're doing.
    And the honesty when you said you dont know what that icon beside the lock button in the layers panel does is just rare...
    Anyway, i found that if you click on it with the HUD and with the Inspector panel in Group, it changes from Fixed Resolution to Flatten and the type changed from 2D to 3D. i think it might have something to do with 3D-ing stuff...

      Thanks for watching! -- I'll do my best to explain a potential solution over a comment. But I am definitely going to be doing a future tutorial on this very thing. Unfortunately this won't be as detailed as I would want it to be!
      So when you're in Motion, select your background. Go over to the properties on the left side. In the position properties, right next to where you can add a keyframe, you should see a small down arrow (when you mouse over it). Click that and go down to "Add Parameter Behavior" then select the "Link" behavior. Now drag your text into the "Source Object" box. You will notice the background moves perfectly with the text now. You can offset the background's position by using the offset properties at the bottom of the link parameters. Or you can change the anchor point on your background, and that will have the same effect.
      When you publish your project to FCP, you should see the background element moving with the text. Hope that helps you! Feel free to reach out if you have any problems.

    Import as Image Sequence is more for use with 3D animated content. When you export from say Blender you would export as an image sequence of your timeline. This would spit out all the frames as images into a specified folder. The reason is due to computers crashing mid-render. Rendering 3D can take hours, days, or even longer. With an image sequence you could start the render off where the computer crashed with minimal loss of time. There's nothing like rendering to a video format only to get to the last second and the computer crashed corrupting the video file...ugh

    Thanks for the video. I have a major dilemma….if you cannot use a motion project in FCPX, then where and how you use the motion blank projects? 🤔 I understand you have to create a template for in motion to use in FCPX, but what about just the motion project?

    • @TheFinalCutBro
      @TheFinalCutBro  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! The blank projects can easily be used to create VFX or 1-off animations you don't intend on using over and over. You would simply just build out the project, and then export a video of the project for final cut pro (or whichever editing software!). The great thing is, you can easily convert the project over to a title/generator/plugin etc. if you want to down the road!

      Haha I wanted to get into all those things in this video! But they’re all so involved, and probably each require there own video. But it’s definitely all planned! Thanks for your support as always my friend!

    Hey, wonder if you can help me? when I play the animation it goes way too fast and its hard to see what it will look like in real time. I think the playback speed is set way too high but i've tried/googled everything I can. Any ideas? thanks in advanced.

      Yes! I would love to do that. I did create 3 other audio visualizer types you might be interested in! But a circle one is definitely in order. Here's links to the other three if you want!

      @@TheFinalCutBroHello, thanks for the quick reply. I have seen them and very well done. I produce more hip hop/trap and was wondering if you knew how to do a cutout face that moves specifically to the 808/ kick I have included a link for you as an example to what I’m looking for if it can be done in motion 5 of course. Thank you again forth-cam.com/video/jyuUk15cu0Q/w-d-xo.html
