Love this! Stuck on one part though (completely noob question here), but how do you get that quick menu where you can select "Separate/Join"? Menu can be seen at at this 0:56 mark. Thanks!
OMG !!!!!!! THIS IS WHAT I WAS TRYING TO SEARCH !!!! You're my life saver !!! Thank you thank you thank you, I was trying to create some pipes and crazy stuff with "cables" for my "Blame!" world in Blender but I was struggled to how use pipes with cables.
this is amazing ... people do 30 minutes tutorials which I have to watch 3x to understand this is exactly what Im looking for in minutes. LIFE SAVER, time and money saver as well!!!! Thanks
Thank you! I kept looking for an easy way to make a cord and all I could find was tutorials kn how to make ropes and other complex objects! This is so much easier.
wow, TH-cam is really working on the recommendation filter, just a while ago I found a Roblox builder that started using blender and now I found these video! good tutorial, keep it up dude
This might be the best damn tutorial I've ever seen. You are the fucking man sir. I tip my hat to you. Maybe you can make a tutorial on how to make tutorials so we're not all out here wasting time learning how to make a cube, scrubbing through the timeline to the stuff we're here for.
Thanks. For once I'm commenting a blender tutorial. Thank you for not putting 10 hours long intro and outro. Thanks for not bombarding us with publicities. And thanks for getting straight to the point. Don't change
When extruding around the pipe at 0:29, is there a way to not get confused with the perspective? Like, for the extrusion to only touch the surface of the pipe.
please slow down a little, those who have never done this will get lost, shouldn't have to slow down to go through it, but ty so much I needed this!!!!
Its a real shame that you don't use software to display which keys you are using, especially at the end of the tutorial when your are splitting and editing the individual cables. I can't tell what you are doing so I can't replicate it :/
ปีที่แล้ว +1
Maybe this video is not for begginers me included, and is focused more in what you can do
He's not doing anything too fancy! So all he's just selecting an edge and using the move tool (shortcut G) and then moving them around freely/rotating them. And how he's getting a large area to move around he has proportional editing turned on (should be at the top of your workspace in the centre, it's a little circle symbol) and then just to the right of that symbol there's a drop down menu which I think by default looks like a smooth A or mountain peak, click on that to bring down the options and click "Connected Only". That way you move around anything inside your "sphere" (mouse wheel up and down to increase/decrease the size of said sphere) and it'll only effect the individual tube you're selecting, despite it being part of a larger mesh! Okay LOOKS like a lot of info but I swear it's v straightforward haha. Just turn on Proportional editing> Connected only> G to move/S to scale/R to rotate.
This was fast.. had to use .5 speed :) TY for this.. quick question, at the very end when you're separting the cables out 1 by 1 using proportional editing... how do you get the move tool to move only that one tiny wire? Mine always move the entire bundle.
Hello! can u tell me please how did u get them (wires at 1:07) to move individually, in my case at this final step i can move wires all together only..
Thanks for these tips!! One thing i notice when you're modelling is that in the viewport your models have this look on them with the white edges and I guess Ambient Occlusion? How do you get those white edges?
Gees. 1min is all it took for me to understand how to do it. THank you. this is what you should do, 1min superquick helpful tips. Love zero intro and outro, sick of those 10min long bullshit greetings and sponsor talks. you do you.
in the top left is a small group of buttons, those are the select modes, it has 3 modes, Vertices, faces, and edges, they should have little decals on them so you'll be able to tell (note the buttons are right under File, Edit, window etc tabs)
bro the edge slide instructions are very unclear, ive been stuck on it for ages now trying to find out how to add that shape to the pipe, i would like a clearer explanation plz
1:06 see that blue box (top middle screen) ? Turn it on and press the small box next to it, then enable "connected only" :). This is called proportional editing.
hmm.. my cable ends up being egg-shaped when looking at the crossection near a bend :/ any ideas what I'm doing wrong? edit: had to apply all transforms before converting to curve :D
Applying all transforms while it was still a curve worked for me. You just have to be in object mode for the option to pop up. Thought I'd mention this as I was working with curves rather than with an object that you convert to a curve. Thanks for commenting this btw! I was very confused.
I know its been two years but it might be because while in edit mode, you are in either edge or face select. you have to make sure youre in vertex select before you extrude since you just got rid of all the edges and faces in the first step
Cick on proportional editing at the top and select 'connected only' use rotate and move, scroll to increase radius of effect, if it doesnt work it may because the circle starts at about 1m radius and you need to adjust it to fir the scale your using :)
Super video !! I only have the problem that the Faces Extrude does not work (Timestamp 0:24). For me, it only increases in one direction, not evenly in all directions. Does anyone have an idea what this can be ?
@@BLOODCHROMEDESIGN Ahh perfekt...Thanks. Can you make Tutorials for beginners in a slower speed? 🤣. Sometime it is hard to understand with high speed 😃

when you created the bunch of cables at the end, is it then possible to animate them to move like cables and interact with each other?

How did you subdivide it at second 0.40 For me, nothing happens when I press CTRL+3

Too bad we can't see the keys you press. at 1:00, you select only the edges. how do you do that without selecting all the mesh ?

make sure you are in edit mode.

how do you move the cables independently at the last part without affecting the others with the O button
