I will put it by Total War franchises people may be jumping from to Warhammer. MEDIEVAL: Bretonnia 3 Kingdoms: Cathay ATTILA: Orcs and Norse Napoleon: Dwarfs Shogun: Empire
Ah that's a great analysis! Very clever way of thinking about it, I've not had enough experience outside of TW WH to make proper recommendations. Only a very small amount of Shogun 2 and Medieval 2. A decent bit of 3K. I think this is a great way of looking at potential ideas for newcomers! Thanks for the suggestions.
Very nice video! I think going straight into Tsarina Katarin after finishing the tutorial is a good idea. Sure, her position is a bit rough, but I'd say it's much more chill than Reikland. Besides, jumping straight into the flame (or ice, I guess) might be quite fun, plus you'll have some knowledge of the roster from tutorial. Oh, and Hybrid units are cool.
This was really helpful. I got the game a few days ago and have been struggling (still fun but man). Those battle suggestion factions seem really good and i think ill go with one of them.
I think that's fair, I do think Khorne is debatable. But I wanted to get more than just one option for WH3 - and I didn't want them both to be Cathay. Would there be another WH3 base-game race you'd recommend for beginners? or maybe it just really isn't the best place for most to begin. Anyways I appreciate the comment and I get where you're coming from - you're not the only one to say so!
Regarding khorne i gotta say this, Skarbrand is the most rewarding campaign in the game if you win battles. However there is a downside. If you lose a battle with skarbrand, just even once, your entire campaign can fall apart. Thats why i think skarbrand should be like 3th or the 4th campaign you should play. He is fun but game just as easily punish you if you lose a battle
The only reson i can se why the Empire is recommended for new players by default is becouse of how popular the faction is. Its a dice roll if u get a calm start or if your getting swarmed from every direction possable. U got orcs coming from the West i think its the skull smashers but i could be wrong about what greenskin faction it is so Helmguard guarding that mountain pass could be useless if they deside to go under it. U got the ships coming on the river from the North, The Beastmen tearing apart the elector counts from the NorthEast and the Vampires from the East doing the same. South is likly your only safe direction but even that can go wrong if your really unlucky with the goblins bordering Reikland in the mountains. So its a cointoss how many of those factions desides to steam right towards the Empire in the early game. This can ofc also flip if the elector counts desided they gonna play good and actually try to fight the Beastmen and the Vampires and the longer they can hold out to allow u to build up Reikland the easier its gonna be. What kills the Empire campaign is when those enemy factions goes berserk and forces u to battle them before your infastructure is set up. I love the Empire faction as a concept as they dont really have any god tier units that will win u battles on there own but u instead have to use more combined arms tactics to make the faction really shine. I started an Empire campaign not to long ago and it was almost like every single 1 of those factions hade a secret military alliance or something from Turn 1 as every single 1 of them came with a full 20 stack around the same time before Turn 15. That was a quick restart. 20:20 I have to Lore nerd out abit here but yeah if u wanna play as the end of all things Archaon is a perfect choice. I dont know mutch about the other lords in the Total war series but this guy has 1 hell of a legendary story and journey to become who he is, what he went through to became who he now is and most importantly who he was before becoming Archaon the Everchosen. Look for a longer detailed lore video on yt or good audio books and u will not be disappointed.
Lol the empire is so screwed right now, i really don't know how one could ever suggest it, the amazing experience on being jumped over by 4 factions at turn 15....
Grimgors’ new start is very easy now since he has Zhar Naggrund directly next door to his start, they’ll never declare war so you can just have a shit stack of basic gobbos raiding a level 5 settlement for the whole start granting as much income as you’d get from most level 5 income buildings
Also in my current Astrogoth campaign, Grimgor is rank 1 faction strength with 3 settlements, his armies are just that powerful with his black orc cost reduction
This all day, I have a new player in co-op campaign and basically gave her Tyrion, sisters of twilight, or any green skin faction as a starter. We went greenskins, while the start was rough with a couple of full stack deaths, it’s so easy to recruit a new army it really doesn’t affect the game. Not having to focus on too many different unit types helps a lot. The wagh makes so anyone can just stomp through enemy territory. The only draw back I’d say is when they try to control 4 stacks and get massively overwhelmed. Shared control really eases that for them though at least in coop. Tip I didn’t know about was if 2 players are greenskins they both can’t wagh at the same time.
Yeah I get where you're coming from! I had my doubts about it as well. But as far as base game WH3 races go I didn't feel there was much for better options. Maybe Kislev but I find their campaigns to be quite challenging overall. And I didn't want to just suggest Cathay twice! Any other base game WH3 races you think would work better? Or maybe WH3 races just aren't the best starting point for newcomers in general?
@@itsmehawkeyeg I found Kislevs campaign also quite hard. WH3 races might not be the best starting campaign with exception of Cathay. There is of course easy campaign and battle mode and auto battle. WH3 seems to favor players a lot more on easier difficulties.
Khorne is beginner friendly in Realms of Chaos campaign. I would put his initial challenge there as Easy, though his starting initial challenge in Immortal Empires would be Normal.
Khorne is NOT an easy faction for new players. However if a new play was dead set on maining khorn then they should purchase both beastmen DLC and learn torux the brass bull as he is similar to Khorne. Then once you understand how to do that then play khorne
As a person who just picked up TWWH about 2 weeks ago, i agree, khorne was not an easy campaign to jump into as a beginner. I backed out of it at turn 8 and switched to cathay for the 3rd time
im a new player to this game and tbh chaos dwarf economy is a challange of itself i realy dont get why the upgrades of armaments for units cost daily weapon resorces its so stupid i found out i got best economy when i dont upgrade my units and thats dumb

What would you suggest for Rome 2?
Ahh i love this! Napoleon and Shogun were my first TW games. Def gonna try dwarves and empire now

idk about khorne but everyone else was really good. especially wurzag he gets a rough idol at level 4

This is what happened to me as a beginner. Everything fell apart once I lost a battle 😂

The Empire is a good starter in a lot of ways but I’d recommend Cathay as well for people new to the game.

One of the best wh3 channels, excellent videos all the time keep them coming! Deserve so many subs keep it up
I don't believe that Khorne is friendly to a new player, the other recomendations seem all really valid though !

Honestly in terms of easy starting factions it's best to start with base game Total War Wahammer 2 factions.

How do you get those warhammer 1 and 2 races ? buy the game 1 and 2 or DLC in warrhamer 3 ?
Buy warhammer 1 and 2
Or buy the trilogy on something like cd keys
