Hi Dansky, great tutorial. I am struggling with one thing. I hope that you can help me. Using the command "create outlines" in illustrator I noticed that the outlined text is a little bit thicker than the original one, just hard to notice it, but there is a difference. Have you ever faced this issue? Is there any method which gives me 100 % the same result as an original text? Regards Marcin

You made that so simple! Thank you. I had been trying to put a stroke around the letter with fx.
Please search the appearance panel, there's plenty of guides to show you how to do this in a non destructive way that is far easier than this. Outlining text to make a keyline means you cannot edit that text without starting again from the beginning.

I'm just not getting it....mine does something different and although I havent clicked ARTBOARDS i seem to be getting a large border around the outside of the image which seems to be preventng me from seecting the text....I give up..
A better way would be to do it non-destructive in the appearance panel.

@@bigbanger7548i think it should be under effects ! but i'm struggling with it. when i use an offset path in the appearance panel it creates a space between the text and the path and i'm not sure how to fill it ugh

Im following along until the point where you change the border to black.. whenever i try changing the fill of the outer or inner it doesnt work
How we can reduce a stroke size from letters all together, after we put stroke and i want to minus that stroke size, but im doing by each one by one ( from a sign name)
Group the letters together if they’re ungrouped, and then apply to stroke. You can also try going to ‘Object -> Compound Path -> Make’ and combine the individual letters into a single shape 😊

I'm afraid not. Typically, I like to keep a backup copy of the text in it's editable form somewhere on the canvas just in case.

I was able to everything other than change the color. what Im I missing? All I see are the out lines.

Does not work for me at all. When i follow these exact steps it always just makes ridiculously giant circles around the object and i cant seem to get it to outline the letters. Even making the offset the most minimum possible its still just HUGE circles
Hey there! Have you tried going even smaller on the offset? If they're way too big, I would suggest trying values between 0.01 and 1 pixels, and then gradually increase or decrease it from there 👍
