While most people have commented that you went too fast, I disagree. Granted, I have been using Illustrator for years (lots and lots of years) so I wasn't looking for a beginner tutorial. So, the pace was perfect. Nothing is more painful than wanting to pick up a couple quick tips and have someone drone on and on about what the pen tool is, and having to sit through 10 minutes of video for a 15 second trick. Nice job overall!
One of the most thorough, concise, and well orchestrated tutorials I've come across on TH-cam. And you actually explain the techniques verbally & with type, where a lot of people fail by assuming the audience "knows." High Fives Mate, you've done a great job. Thank you for the knowledge shared.
Loved learning how to do something with such an amazing result! For those who couldn't keep up - take it step by step - split screen between TH-cam and Illustrator. Worked for me like a charm.
I know everyone complains about people being to fast with this type of stuff, but God al mighty, I really hate it when they're super slow... so thanks for the quick work... that's what pause is for. Keep up the good work.
University tutors are far different from Freelancers on youtube, these guys have more experience cos they work with so many Companies so they have a pretty awesome ways of working around the style of teaching cos they deal with it every single day
My new favorite tutorial account. Gets straight to the point and provides the meaningful steps clearly. Not like other tutorials that give 50 steps talking about grouping in the layers panel. Awesome video!
The trick with the brush ellipse made my day, thank you so much! The rest is very interesting, I use the appearence tool to make those effects and it also works wonderful, though it is a bit more difficult to understand and takes a bit of patience to get the trick.
I tried this today with the lobster 1.3 font and had a little trouble with some steps like the brush at the end and the blend with specified steps but I got it. I will definitely try it again with different fonts this was fun to do thank you.
This guy means business! I think he talks clearly, so speed isn't the issue. I'm pausing on every step to follow his instructions :) USA invited the unnecessary narratives on tv-episodes to extend the content.
Great video... I'm a novice at this aspect of design and was able to follow your instructions to the tee. I'm glad that I'm solid with Photoshop, because following your quick movements was much easier, whereas it would be much harder for someone without my knowledge of adobe products. I did however find that the curvature tool was easier for me than the pen tool when adding the cyan highlights. Again, solid vid mate.
I'm liking how you zip through the tutorial without the normal fill talk. Just right to the point where it's very easy to stop the video, mimic the action, and move to the next action without having to scrub through nonsense talk.
This has blown my mind! I'm looking into getting Illustrator so I'm not so much a noob, more of a total virgin. Been a fan o typography for some time. Can't wait to get started on this. Thanks Spoon Graphics Guy. And an honest-to-goodness northern lad to boot!
HI Chris, awesome tutorial. I am a proper noob following this step by step on illustrator and everything goes south at 3:30 - 'Give the originals a white fill to make them visible again, against the black offset.' I click white fill and EVERYTHING turns white leaving only the thin blue lines used by Illustrator (showing the typography). I don't understand why the offset is not black. I've completed ALL previous steps. Can you help?
i had the same problem but how i got it to work is you shift select the text so that each point is visible rather than highlight them. I hope that made sense.
Sorry. Didn't make sense to this super-new-noob. Had the same problem as Ando san. Partly because all of my text is connected, so I didn't have the option to do all of the steps the author does (ungrouping isn't an option for me, so I don't have to do shift select).
one suggestion, your talking and doing speed too much fast, this videos as a tutorial, so I suggest speed should slow so that it's easy to capture every step that you doing.
If you want more fonts like this, here are some of my other favourite script fonts: ► No. Seven - spoon.graphics/3bRhHf3 ► Fountain Typeface - spoon.graphics/3D3kHCn ► Saekana Script Font - spoon.graphics/3Ha3Gc8 ► Marttabuck Script - spoon.graphics/3fAYYHs ► The Honest Designers Script - spoon.graphics/3kkSG1U ► Buy all 5 script fonts with a 30% discount - spoon.graphics/3C03oRx
okay that was probably one of the best tutorials I've ever seen!!!! for people needing to learn a few new tricks, this video definitely did it. I can't wait to practice and make some cool new designs!
4:00 OMG. I had NO CLUE you could do that in Illustrator. This just made my month. THANK YOU!

funny how I'm actually learning more from your videos than I did from my tutors back in the university..
I know! I'm just realizing that I barely learned anything and I got all good grades. Feels like I have to relearn everything

You are spot on about buying quality fonts. I refer to this video over and over. Watching your videos puts money in my pocket. Thank you!
I tried this today with the lobster 1.3 font and had a little trouble with some steps like the brush at the end and the blend with specified steps but I got it. I will definitely try it again with different fonts this was fun to do thank you.
Straight to the point the entire video I don't know if I've ever come across that in a tutorial
You talk a just bit too fast me, but you're awesome!!! NICE WORK!! Thanks for sharing...
i watched this video with *2 speed :p
you can slow it down on youtube
This guy means business! I think he talks clearly, so speed isn't the issue. I'm pausing on every step to follow his instructions :) USA invited the unnecessary narratives on tv-episodes to extend the content.
Slow the video down with the TH-cam options
Fast the speed
As a new graphic designer starting fresh, this is pure gift, thank you.
OMG this was awesome. You didn't get to slow or make it too complicated. SUBSCRIBED!!

Exceptional tutorial! Mastered custom type designs, thank you!
Amazing tutorial! The OpenType Swashes have changed everything for me, there's so many more options now! Thanks!
where to find it bro??
same here! I didnt have any option available in any font. Did you pay for it?
What a great, and concise turorial! I tried many before this one and couldn't crack it. This one worked first time!
You are a True Inspiration to all of us including me! I really enjoyed a lot in this!
NEW LETTERING PHOTOSHOP LOGO TUTORIAL - ON MY CHANNEL!
Best video EVER! I got the font and followed along (took me over an hour because I'm still new) I can't believe I made this!!
''how mere us mortals can make use of the high quality fonts with open type feature that has been made by the typographic gods'' . loooool
You make it look so easy. Such a cool result!
Always do adjustments to fonts when doing logos, this makes them unique!
I'm liking how you zip through the tutorial without the normal fill talk. Just right to the point where it's very easy to stop the video, mimic the action, and move to the next action without having to scrub through nonsense talk.
Your voice is simply amazing. I could listen to your class all day. This has helped me a lot. Immediately subbed :D.
This has blown my mind! I'm looking into getting Illustrator so I'm not so much a noob, more of a total virgin. Been a fan o typography for some time. Can't wait to get started on this. Thanks Spoon Graphics Guy. And an honest-to-goodness northern lad to boot!
YOU ARE AMAZING!!! best logo and typography tutorials.
man that was some serious typographic design.... Loved every bit of it....
Your voice makes my head explode
Wow!! Smile on my face! Love it!
Hi, looks like a great tutorial but way too fast too follow, even when I stop and go back to fast for me .
I agree..it’s great to look at just to get an idea of how to do it but I had to play around with it myself to really figure it out
singkat, jelas, padat, namun dapat dengan mudah dipahami
*teaches beginners
*uses premium fonts that cost 99 dollars
lmao i click the link and the price oooooof.
unbelievable, i can not give you enough words.
you make every second counts, i wish all the tutorials to follow your style.
Thanks for your effort but you were so fast and the instructions wasn't clear .. this video is not for beginners I think
I'm a beginner and I think it was alright.
You could pause it...
I agree 100%
You can always adjust the speed. 0.5 or 0.75 maybe?
Its a video. There is a pause, playback, and more. Just be glad it wasn't a VHS tape. :D
This video highlights the need for the ability to give more than 1 thumbs up. AWESOME!! Looking forward to more.
when i do offset path, i cant ungroup?
Same. It doesn’t say it’s grouped.
Good job with the bundles man i am waiting for more tnx!!!

I am having the same issue
it may be better to just understand whats needed to be applied, then arrange it yourself. I figured it out
i just got figured out make sure your appearance panel choose fill not stroke.
This looks so dope!
wth dude you moved soooo fast in this tutorial. I had to replay 100 times to follow the steps..
No words, speechless
one suggestion, your talking and doing speed too much fast, this videos as a tutorial, so I suggest speed should slow so that it's easy to capture every step that you doing.
You can reduce the playback speed bottom right of the video window.
Great one there spoon graphics.
Your accent is way too cute. Nice vid.
Really? Man... I want to shoot myself in the face listening to this guy for more than 20 seconds.
Some very great tips and methods I did not know about. Thanks for sharing!
This is so difficult to do, I'm new to adobe illustrator, does any have beginner tutorials
I agree. He goes so d*mn fast.
lmao what this is so simple, you shouldn't be going for something like this if you don't have basic illustrator skills
