- New updates on the Kia Sedona issues i have been having for the past two years! Have had the van at the dealers 3 times for the same issue with no luck fixing

Sliding doors are common problems to all brands of minivan. Louder start up to an engine is also common especially during colder weather season. I highly recommend to everyone to warm up your engine before you take off...my kia sedona is the most reliable van.

That’s what happens when there’s no keys or no one with keys in the car. My dad’s 2018 does the same thing and so is my friend in Florida’s 2019’s Sedona. He sent me a clip of it

I noticed the peeling rim issue on my 2018 SXL at 17,000 miles. Like you, I never put chemicals on them and my minivan is garage kept. Initially, I spoke to the dealership and they told me there was nothing they could do about it. After googling the issue, I slammed KIA on their Instagram page regarding an almost decade-old issue of peeling rims. Someone eventually did reach-out. It wasn’t until I went back to the dealership for routine service and I pointed out the peeling wheels. They said they’d replace it...weird, but fine by me.
Did they fix them?

I have a 2015 Sedona SXL, I was having the same problems you’re having. For the loud noise coming from the engine, they had to replace the cams and solenoids, as well as the cam positioning sensors. The power sliding door noise was resolved with a new motor and track. I know how you feel. Good luck with everything.
David Sorensen how many miles was on your Sedona when you had the repair?
Amgta 5 A little over 40k. KIA motors wouldn’t cover it. The dealer came out of pocket for all the repairs.

My rims are flaking too brother! Definitely too soon because I baby it.
What about crash reporting system the door still work mine acts up I can be driving and it'll make noise for no reason with no vehicle around me
My same cable on the same chair in the backseat doesn’t have the same issue but it’s definitely wonky too
Their was a recall on the rear power doors for 2015 - 2018...
my car has 50k on it and all the tires are worn on the inside causing loud tire noise same thing happened to my sorento i have had a alignment...any issue with this ?
Yeah my moms 2010 ex ot was doing the same crap then after we put wd 40 in the track it fixed it for the most part yeah are hatch open Handel is seazing up yeah my moms painted rims got screwed up from being not taking care of before we bought it butt your back doors is doing that that becouse the door latches need replacing
I just noticed last week that my wheels are peeling as well.

my driver side 360 camera does not work all the time. Kia can not find the problem. 2017 Sedona sxl
Go find another dealer ASAP. Sorry you are having problems. Kia has come a long way forward, but they still have a long way to go. If the dealer won’t replace your rims, you can still have them painted or even powder coated.
Do NOT take it to the STEALERship! Fix it yourself there's many DIY videos on here that'll help you from getting ripped off and save thousands of dollars. Most likely it's your sliding door motor.
@@KL4life To Kia’s credit, I hear they are not difficult to repair. Rim touch up/repair service is not difficult to find.
I have same exact Sedona SXL (2016) without captain's chairs and sunroof. Same color paint and interior. 32,000+ miles and not one problem. I had the reflash done for the recall on the rear sliding doors. Of course my van is only a weekend and vacation driver though. How do you and your family treat the van?
Don't know if you noticed, but his first review had 40K miles and he said not many problems. The problems started at 43K it looks like! That is concerning!
Any overheating issue?
He is cars are awesome but the dealership suck you got to just go to another dealership even if it’s way further
My used Kia Sedona 2017 still solid until now. I got it when it had 13,000. Now it has 30,000 miles. I do my own oil change. I used original oil filter and royal purple 5w30. California to Las Vegas gave me 26 miles per gallon. I used Chevron 91 octane premium gasoline...I always lubricate the sliding doors to avoid any further isuses. For me Sedona is a solid reliable minivan....engine and transmission made by Mitsubishi company which was lamdha 3.3L GDI.
The engine is made by Mitsubishi?!!! That can't be good.
@@tribunation how do you know. Let me educate you to enlighten your mind. I have Mitsubishi lancer EL 1996 with a million miles until now the engine and transmission still original. The only replacement I did were shock and struts, inner and outer tire rods and engine support. When it comes to engine and transmission they are built as a tank 😜
@@bigfatbonsol3214 Ok Mr educator. That's pretty awesome. Good for you! You got one untouched by the Chrysler Corp and built on a Wednesday. All I know is that Mitsubishi transmissions are not typically known for reliability. Ford Rangers, Mazda B2000 series trucks, MIT eclipse/Dodge Talon, Dodge Caravan/Chrysler Town & Country, were all vehicles with Mitsubishi transmissions and had notorious problems. I actually really liked some of the old Mitsubishi cars like the Starion and 1st gen Eclipse. 👍

Trust me, You can't chrome plate an aluminum rim and expect it to last. They always peel. OEM or aftermarket.
My Cadillacs kept 100% of their chrome for 22 years
So mines a 2019 Kia Sedona lx recently mabey 4 months ago the check engine light came on and the gears from my transmission started to rev really high 2000-3000 on gear 8 on the highway I was like wtf so I went to go do an oil change thought that was the issue but they told me probably a fault code and they deleted the code and after that worked perfect ride was smooth shifted good and 2020 Jan 18 came in again and started shifting funny again I have no money to take it in because financial issues (loss of family member) btw I’m in Canada 🇨🇦 Alberta we just had a full week of -40 wheather crazy cold and now it just started so shitty luck for me love the look at the SXL though there’s my problem
Is there any update with the issues you've been having? I am looking at buying a Sienna or saving a few bucks and going with the Sedona.
You can pickup up good used Sedona SXL for about $15-20k. Unfortunately Kia resale is shite, but good for the second owner when it comes to cost savings. Transferable warranty as well.
@howzit3000 You could get a fully loaded 2015-17 Sedona SXL.
We are in the same position! Had Siennas last 2 cars, but tranny went out on our 2014 limited premium JUST past warranty! So we wanted to see if we could get more bang for our buck on a different maker. Don't want to shoot ourselves in the foot tho, with even more problems! I keep hearing HORROR stories of KIA NOT honoring their warranty. What did you end up doing?
@@malenataylor3615 We ended up getting a 2017 Sedona. It's been really good but we haven't had any issues yet so I can't comment on the warranty. The Sedonas don't keep their value as well as the Sienna's. Sorry to hear about van transmission going. I would be very careful about the new Sienna's. When Toyota switched to the 8speed transmissions they started having a lot of issues. I believe there has been a class action lawsuit about it.

Have the 2015 Grand Sedona SXL with same door latching grinding noise - exact noise on both doors, including rear tailgate sagging after it opens fully. It doesn't stay fully open it sags as if to close. Dealership sevice has no answer. Beautiful vehicle

The market is flooded with Kias and people think the low price and warranty bait will save them. No. The junk yards will be filled with Kia crap. The good news is that DIYers will frequent those same junk yards for Kia parts to fix their cars. Either learn how to work on these cars or buy something else. Those are your only options.
LOL...right Dash. I have a 2015 Kia Sportage...180,000kms (108,000 miles). Aside from one set of brake pads, one set of tires and 4 changes of wiper blades, I have not had to put anything into it other than gas and oil changes every 10,000kms. By far, the most reliable vehicle I have owned in my 45 years of driving. I should add, that I do not baby my Sportage.
DO NOT PAY ANY EXTRA WARRANTY!! Fix that shit yo self and learn to save money instead of getting ripped off.
Actually if I never had the extra warranty I would have dumped about 8 thousand dollars into this van on top of still paying for it! This is one of the most expensive van's I have ever owned when it comes to parts and labor 😅
