- When Kevin buys a brand new Can-Am Maverick R, we consider it our job to tell you the REAL truth. Compared to our Polaris RZR Pro R, we tell you exactly what we love AND hate about the Can-am. Specifically the things that most other influencers either can't or don't want to say!

I can’t speak for everyone else, but I think most of us really appreciate your genuine honest opinions and reviews! It lets everyone know that was thinking about a purchase know if that is something they can overlook or if it’s a dealbreaker. Awesome video!
yup 50 grand no windshield
This video is so valuable to both Can-am & Polaris! No BS & both of you are so good at what you are doing & providing for the community. Love it!
The fact that people are still buying these machines for 50k and accepting that fit and finish is ridiculous. We need to boycott
There’s a sucker born every minute- PT Barnum. Same with Ford raptors, $100,000 for fox shocks 😂😅 People are idiots and will keep paying for stupid shit… 1000% profit margin
I agree i made the mistake a few years ago and ill never do it again. They are way too much money and they are expensive to maintain especially if you are hard on them. Extremely overpriced junk. Look at the new ranger out 45k ridiculous. Side by sides have now become a rich persons hobby. Snowmobile prices are also getting out of hand.
@@jimmytimber7074 snowmobiles are getting ridiculous as well I agree!
Then don’t buy one the canam starts at 36,000
@@adventurearyck64to be fair, those are also cars designed to be insanely comfy on road, and the shocks are now fully adaptive.
I LOVE The Honest Reviews and as you guys are saying, not many other people are willing to do that nor are the companies themself happy about hearing things that need improved on (which doesn't make sense)! I also love that you try to express how much you do love them aside from their faults while expressing that EVERYONE has Faults and the best thing we can do is hear these faults so we can make a decision as to which faults we are willing to deal with along the way!!! Great Job
Enjoyed the video... Especially because you guys put on a happy vibe. Thats why my wife and I are on our third can am. Got three kids through sports and college , now we travel and ride with a group. Thanks for sharing!
That's what I like about this channel. Y'all's honesty. Y'all rock.
I like how they don't drink the cook out Kool aid
Really love all of your videos! What camera did you use to film this video? Thank you!
There is a difference between complaining vs pointing out areas for improvement or fixing. For the manufacturers out there, unless they know what needs fixing or improving, it won't happen. Glad Lite Brite is pointing out what the customers want and expect in their purchases. Thanks for sharing.
Polaris knows the problems. They just don't care. They build junk that lots cool, just like their snowmobiles. Most of the rental places have changed to Can-Am because of the reliability issues with Polaris.
Polaris has known about all the issues. I’ve read the service bulletins and recalls. There solution is to keep buying companies out thinking it will fix there issues and it doesn’t hasn’t and won’t They make so much money of them and people keep stupidly coming back for more
Did you do any other modifications to the pro r when you added the 35s? Any clutch work or engine work? Thanks!
Keep on keeping it real my friends! This is what makes yall stand out over others. Always love the content and the honesty.
I love that fact that you filmed and showed not being able to find where to put gas in LOL. You all are awesome and I love your channel!
Another great vid you two!
I always appreciate Britt's frankness. Britt, "I like the Pro R more." Kevin, "you haven't even ridden in the Can-Am yet." Britt, without missing a beat, "I haven't..." Too funny!
I worked at a Toyota dealership in 1999-2001. In that time they came out with a new celica the tundra just came out as well as the Lexus ES and the Prius. Professional mechanics with decades of experience do this too. Searching for drain plugs and oil filters. Lol Fuse boxes.
You guys are spot on with the fit and finish issues! I had a chance to go out with two of them and both hoods flew off, but fuel filler covers broke, and both had pretty ugly panels. They are fun to drive though!
You guys are great!
I must say you struck my interest on the yxz!
On price vs fun factor also how would your opinion change comparing the Maverick r two the yxz if it had long arm suspension/turbo?
Thanks in advance!!
Couple of things - quick correction - Can Am is $4k more - MSRP - MSRP Pro R Ultimate to new Maverick R X RS with smart shocks - top of the line smart shock cars - I think for most SXS owners comes down to driving position for which car they chose as the cars at this level are all great. Most describe a RZR/Pro R as you sit on it and a Can Am - you sit in it. I prefer the ergonomics of the RZR - but many other prefer the Can Am - got to go sit in both to decide - I have a Pro R and drove a new Can Am yesterday at Glamis - it is fast for sure - but I will stick with my Pro R! Thank for the honest reviews and what you like and why.
Great video! Thank you for being honest! I have owned both and Can-Am really does have a fit and finish issue but also use thinner lighter steel for the cage and frame.
Love you guys, you're very real, would rather hear it straight than hear worthless fluff. Just getting into off reading, kinda partial to jeeps so I understand the fan following.. keep making great content, I learn alot from you..👍
I agree, the seats in the X3 is leaning way too far back. But luckily, it's just simple as taken 2 bolts out in the front of your seat and lower it down.
Great video. I bought a new X3 and went to the gas station to fill and felt like an idiot because I couldn't find the gas cap, after about five minutes my granddaughter who was along for the ride found it for me.
Kevin Williams: Honey I spent 50k on hopes and dreams!
Brittany Williams: “Dumb Ass”
Chris: WTF it’s built like crap!
LMAO😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Love this video! What brand of door storage bags do you have on the Polaris Pro R. Got to get me some!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video, appreciate the honesty. The designers should appreciate all feedback good or bad, it's the only way to know what the customer wants/needs. Thanks!
I love an honest review on stuff. Thank you.
I agree with u on the Can Am being best pick. On the 7 spd real gears, the first downside I see on that is repair cost, if that would be an issue. I would think rebuilding a 7 spd trans vs a single belt would be a big difference in cost. I'm a aircraft/truck mech and if I was looking for an easy fix trans, it would be a CV. The CV transmissions are pretty well race proven, but for the same reason as u did, which has nothing to do with racing, I bought a new F150 with a real, well almost real, 10 spd trans. One of the main reasons I'd also pick the Can Am is the Rotax. These engines are my pick all the time. And having a 1k L turbo rotax is awesome.
Honda Talon’s Automatic has proven to be Bulletproof
Great Vid and filled with info, thanks! Subscribed :)
Awesome video guys. Thank you for showing the difference. I'm doing my research for which SXS to get. ⚡️🔥👊🏾💪🏾👍🏽👌🏽💥💯🙏🏽💙
What is the best sport side by side when it comes to fit n finish in your opinion? Honda talon maybe?
@ 19:29 100% truth right there and greatly appreciated. These things aren't cheap.
@Lite Brite Thank you for the honest & transparent reviews of these UTVs! Looking forward to you two doing the same with a Harley-Davidson Pan America & a BMW 1250 GS Adventure. #Twowheeltime?😊
Great review! I’ll be getting a new carb on my 2007 CRF 450 but would have fun in one of these.
Just found your guys channel! You did a great job going over the machine! When I first saw this car I had to scratch my head... What is up with the suspension on this car? The big giant parts sticking out all over the place just looks like it's begging to be broke. Out of curiosity have you guys looked at Speed? 50K puts you in the neighborhood!
Kevin and Brittany.... that was the absolute best no bull shìt quick review of any type vehicle I have ever seen... A++ . Great video! You 2 are always just being real on these vids , I thought it was great...the manufacturer may never invite y'all to any event, but wtf cares... in this vid we see what you're actually thinking about the vehicle... keep up the great work on the content. If I was closer I'd buy y'all a round
I love the honesty . I was very against CVT until I realized they have coke a long way in longevity and with that, I would rather bust a belt than a transmission .
it’s refreshing to see your not trying to please sponsor’s . Enjoyed your video .
My wife and I loved going through the Bobsled part, was a lot of fun for us as well.
Hold the center of the screen to display boost gauge … adjust your widgets for steering wheel selector buttons for screen control while moving
Honesty is why your channel is doing well and will continue to !!!!!
They look fun. Agreed about the fit and finish with it costing $50k.
If the new Mav R seats are like the X3, there is a lot of adjustment to them. They can be raised and lowered in the front and rear. You can just raise in the back so you can sit up straighter more like in the Polaris.
It's crazy because BRP was always the go to because of their engineering and fit/finish, but damn even my dad's X3 turbo RR had some questionable fit and finish on the plastics. Sucks to see, hopefully the following models get tightened up.
May I ask where are you riding? Where was the video made? Thanks and great video!
Sand hollow Utah
Nice review keep up the good work
Odd that Polaris bought you guys a Turbo R a few years ago but didn’t give you the Pro R. Glad you guys are giving all of us honest reviews on both. Thank you
Or was it a Turbo S?
You are the first one online to say that the DCT is better than a CVT. So many people have said the opposite. Mostly everyone with experience so far has said it will take some getting used to.
I'm surprised by the bad fit and finish of the Can-Am . In the ski-doo vs. polaris snowmobile discussion fit and finish is normally strong slant in favor of BRP. Both look like fun machines, but the price tag is too high on both as well. Nice informative review.
CanAm is assembled in Mexico.
I agree I live in the cold climate, the sleds and four wheelers definitely a better fit and finish on the Can-Am
Thanks for the honest review. All I’ve heard up to this point is from folks who are sponsored or partnered with Can Am.
lovely cupples, great opinions !
Question, did the tires touch the new arms? I noticed on many review videos on TH-cam some tires wastes on the arms, tires black traces... (even in your video at 20:41 as example)
Yes they do touch
@@LiteBrite
Hi, thanks for u're response
Do you think it's dangerous? or can blow the tires?
they say that we can go with 35" tires, how it's possible if the 32/33 touch like that!!
I want one, it's my first experience, i never had any ADV or quad or anything similar before.
sorry for asking all those questions, I don't want to make a bad choice and I just loooveee the look of this one. also many told me to stay away of Polaris because of it's reliability..
I could not live with the fit and finish of the Can Am!!! That would drive me crazy!! Thanks for the honest review!
Thanks guys for the honest review!! Ya"ll kick but!!
Did you find the gas cap? Its on the passenger side behind the front pillar by the front of the door.
Thanks for this! Great Review
Maybe the quickness and nimbleness you like so much relates to how small tires will perform
Coool comparison! The Honda Talon was the first with their DCT 6 speed transmission.
If Kevin wants a machine that is twitchy, where you feel the ride, my old 50 inch early model RZR 800 is the tool for you. You have to drive it, pick great lines, and use a fair bit of skill to keep upright at times. That said, it can be a real blast to drive at any sort of speed. It of course has a belt drive, which I hate, and Polaris front differentials don't lock until the rear spins which results in you having to use more of a send it approach to rock crawling than a creep approach. It really helps improve your driving skills though.
Glad they put a better cover off the fuel cap, my x3 POS cover falls off every time i open it
time to build it! suspension upgrades are a game changer with canams. They're a riot in the mud!
So you can just sit there and spin the tires while going nowhere and just get filthy!😂
Best review so far. Thanks
Gas tank search and your honesty was funny and refreshing.
I absolutely love how honest you are...I will meet you guys one day..your only 40. Mins from me..
I have a Turbo R 4 ultimate and it is AMAZING!! Thanks for your video!!
Cool video, I like the REAL TRUTH approach. I am surprised at your take on the brakes though, because Desert SXS did a huge comparison with all the major players and the Mav R brakes beat out every other SXS by a big margin. Either way, both machines have their pros and cons as always - personally, I would choose the Mav R just for the lower CG alone.
Wonder if you followed the break in period recommendations?
Found you nuts today! Was glad I did. You both are awesome! Saw Brit drift in the vet! She's not just hot! She drifts. Pretty awesome finding you. Britt is pretty amazing!
You kids get all the kool toys! Never had or even been in either one, but they both look like a blast. I took the Bobsled back down after a night run during Trail Hero with my wife as passenger..in my Grand Cherokee! She had a blast too! If I had $40K I'd buy yours. LiteBriteNationToysWithUs!
When I first saw it I was like how are paddle tires going to fit? You will need some crazy offset or maybe spacers ?
I appreciate the 2 open opinions.
Man. I am so jealous. That was the best one, especially doing the bob sled. Lots of fun for 50k. Have fun and enjoy it.
This is funny, I have a 2013 Can-Am Commander 1000 and I love it! I use the hell out of this thing to move Firewood.
The five bolt lug pattern on the Pro R is already a Ford bolt pattern. Plenty of aftermarket wheel support already out there!
Great vid, but changing subject. Where is this location? Looks like a great time.
Sand Hollow, Utah:)
Love it... "where's the fuel fill". OMG, just hilarious.
The smart-shock vs live valve thing... Polaris has that wrapped up, WHEN it works. Once it doesn't work, or you have problems... you're SOL. Same with Smart-shocks. I prefer not to have bells/whistles do the adjustments for me (when they're working correctly)... and to manually adjust for the terrain I'm in or how the vehicle is setup.
Think about this... you don't have smart shocks or live valve in your Jeep do you?? :)
I bought the Mav-R just as why you guys were describing the YXZ. I have one of those too. However, with a manual clutch. Talk about a blast. I also have long travel on the YXZ and it's a huge difference but you still need to drive it. Can't go slow through the big stuff.
The Mav-R bridges some of those gaps... and suits me, since I said I'll never own a belted car. Just don't want the hassle, as I've watched SO MANY folks in my group hassle with blown belts and pieces of belt stuck in places hard to get out. Just not my deal. Plus... a 7-speed gearbox capable of shift on the fly low to high and vice-a-versa?! Awesome. Getting the power to the tires via a clutch, and not a CVT? SOLD!!
The price tag should be an issue, with the fit and finish of some of the plastics. Our glove box is the same. What kind of 2yr old made those molds and latches?! Horrible!!! But I didn't buy the car for the glovebox or glovebox space. So... there's that.
And YES, there is Navigation. How'd you miss it?? GO BRP, and via a connected cell phone gives you a map that you can create rides, share rides, etc. BUT... you have to connect a cell phone to the display that can run the GO BRP app.
Thanks for the review! Awesome machines. You guys are living my dream. So much fun 😊. I have to put in my 2 cents like I’m sure many others have. If I was fortunate enough to have the financial freedom to own toys like these I would have to either build my own custom side by side or have a professional build me a custom machine. The quality for the price is just not worth it to me. Love your channel be careful out there and God bless.
Good luck getting a custom build with better quality and fit & finish for under 100k, probably 150k.
$50,000 , I should have kept the VW and the Corvair dune buggies I built in 1965 & 66. The Corvair was faster but the VW rode so much better. Great video, I lived in Layton UT for 8 years but had to move back to SnoHio.
I have a pro r ultimate launch edition lifted lime aswell and i went to utv takeover sand hollow saw 2 people broken down in a mav r on the trails then the next day i was following this mav r through the trails he hit this rock in the middle of the trail i hit it just has hard he pulls over and his whole right a arm is bent in half lol i dont know what the deal is with that car but they are not holding up well plus the suspension in the rear is way to soft.
What’s up with SxSs wanting to nosedive over jumps. I know that you have to keep it pinned over the jumps to help that from happening, but sometimes even then they want to nosedive.
I am actually surprised by the comments about fit and finish on the Can Am. I have not seen the MavR in person yet, but I have owned Polaris machines and always complained about fit/finish on them. I switched to CanAm because I thought they were built with more attention to quality. But I’m also dealing with ATVs and utility SxS and not first year models. My guess is CanAm will get it squared away in later years.
For decades Polaris was always the running joke for poor quality and reliability. Hopefully CanAm is not slipping into that rutile.
I saw 3 mav r breakdown at utv takeover sand hollow. Two sway bars broke and one bent a arm that happened right infront of me while following in my pro r. They need to work on alot more than fit and finish the suspension in the rear even with smart shox bucks like crazy its too soft. I agree polaris wasn't great back in the day but that has completely changed between the rzr R models and xpedition/ranger/general they are whoop caddys now.
Polaris has always had the fit and finish of a power wheels. Always have and always will. I call it Polaris syndrome. They have a weird loyal following that doesn’t seem to mind and will defend any flaw like you are talking bad about their mother. I’ll say they do perform well and are a whole lot of fun when they aren’t broken. Must be how they get people hooked.
@@Dave872010 They have a loyal following because A) they have the best ride quality bar none, and B) they are cheaper to own and maintain. There is no comparison in the difficulty to work on and parts availability/price working on any BRP product to a Polaris product.
@@newpylong They are cheaper but typically don’t need to buy parts for the BRP nearly as often as Polaris and Polaris machines totally suck to work on. If I never had to work on another one I’d be a happy man.
Thanks for the comparison, I'm looking at buying a brand new Pro R Ultimate 38k out the door.
Are those things 4x4 or not?? I just can't get my head around 50k that seems outrageous to me, but I've never had one to play with either
Great content! We like you guys!
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
There are still 16 inch tires in all of the shops, ,,,the big problem might be those upper arms might be in the way, lol thanks BigAl California
27:30 those trails look like a blast 😊
DCT vs CVT,... Kevin, you are correct sir.
As for fit and finish, looks about normal for Made In America.
Lots of good points on the can am. Great reviewed
I am asking because I dont know. Is a side X side put together at the dealer like a motorcycle? If so then there is no quality control for fit and finish like a car.
Roll cage is put on, thats about the only assembly done.
@@joshowens2219 Got it, Thanks.
Nice honest review. Would like you guys to do more Sid by side stuff. Would also be really interested in you guys reviewing the KRX.
We’ve heard great things about it. People love it in rock crawling it seems just doesn’t have the fast fun factor but maybe it just needs to be on the right trails!
@@LiteBrite I agree completely, It's not fast by any stretch of the imagination but they rock crawl like Billy goats. I'd like to see you guys get your hands on one and put it through it's paces.
You guys need the right suspension guy to set up your Yxz. I love my manual YXZ.
It's awesome that you would edit in looking for the fuel inlet instead of editing it out. Most all people would have never put that in there and I'm pretty sure the exact same thing would happen to most people that never owned a Can Am.
We just bought the maverick R. The rig is amazing. Id take it hands down over the rzr pro. I do love polaris and have owned alot of them but this year canam really set the bar high. And yes my polaris has had its share of fitment issues as well.
I too couldn't find the filler neck when I rented a can-am. It's not obvious!
I had a Polaris and went to a CanAm, took me a while to figure out the gas filler location as well.
I love the show, good job, keep up the good work, love it, fun.
Side by sides make a lot of offroad situations feel boring while taking your daily driver through technical obstacles is so much more of an adrenaline rush. The challenge is more rewarding as the risk is much higher.
I have an Alba tuned and turboed yxz1000r with the paddle shifters. That thing is a blast to drive
I would love to take my Sand rail to Utah it looks fun it was built for the Pismo Dunes
Pretty much all the popular m/t tires are available in 315/75/16 (also known as a 35"). Even the nitto trail grapplers.
What you’re referring to aren’t sxs tires - way too heavy & way too wide.
The 6x139.7 is a pretty common Chevy/Toyota lug pattern should be able to run DOT wheels on it
the thing i cant believe about the new mav r is that the went back to some pf the single shear locations they just fixed on the newer x3s. will probably get one in a few years when they fix these issues
