I don't think the Equivalent Exchange counts as 'evolution'; it would be more accurate to say it creates a NEW Stand. Especially since there's disadvantages, too; Soft and Wet doesn't have access to powerful explosions like KQ and can't make Sheer Heart Attacks, nor can it graft objects with incredible precision like Josefumi's S&W. Plus, I think Act-changes and the "natural" way you described at the beginning of the video more or less go hand in hand. They both increase in power and unlock new abilities as they mature (Jotaro learning about his access to Star Finger, his inhalation abilities that he used to defeat Justice, learning he has timestop), ACT Stands just have more developmental potential. 4 ways to evolve a Stand would be more accurate
i can see where you're coming from with some of your criticism, namely the ones about the equivalent exchange, but i'll have to disagree on the act stands because while they undergo a natural growth process, the reason they are viewed as not natural is because of their rarity and capability to change appearance. which i think is reason enough to have them on a different category than star platnum, the world and etc.

@@shonendivision3427 i'd think act stands are more of a incomplete or different forms of a stand, since all users of act stands can freely change between acts, for example, both johnny and koichi can use their stand act 1 but pucci made in heaven can't use neither whitesnake or c-moon, dio over heaven in the game can't use normal the world, giorno needs to separate the requiem arrow from golden experience (that means he can't just turn requiem to normal golden experience while fused with the arrow), killer queen fusion with the arrow that gave him bite the dust is permanent as he can't take off the arrow, corpse of christ is the closest thing to an evolution and act stand since it acts sometimes like the arrow in part 4 giving the user a new ability to his stand (or a new stand in case he doesn't have one to begin with) and the arrow in part 5 giving the stand a new form (for example, although the corpse of christ gave valentine a new ability he can't desactivate, you can still take the corpse which will make love train stop working as it's connected to it), at the end i think you can assume there's 4 ways to actually evolve a stand (normal arrow if you consider a new skill to the stand an evolution, requiem arrow, heaven, and christ's corpse).
I think for the 2nd Pierce method the arrow itself must choose you, sure it might have worked if your desire and spirit are strong enough but I think the arrow itself is the thing that guarantees it
