As an ex Greenkeeper, i have to say you have a nice foundation for what could be a lovely wee course. Have you thought about approaching local golf clubs to see if they might have old cups, flags and hole cutters they could pass onto you? They may even have old mowers they're not using. I don't know if you've improved the course in the last year, but here's a few ideas you might like to consider... 1. Invest in a cheap, second hand petrol mower, battery mower or even another push mower with 8 or 10 blades. You'll be able to adjust the height of cut and get to a point you have greens you can putt on. 2. Create 'bunkers'. Just even by lifting an area of turf and digging down 2 or 3 inches, you could create nice wee bunkers. Fill them with cheap sand. Use the turf and the displaced soil to create 'bunker faces' or 'green bankings'. 3. Cut surrounds and aprons around the greens, just to have them really 'pop' out at you. These ideas could make a huge difference to the course. You have the basis, keep improving it bit by bit. Good luck!!
Very helpful video. Much better and cheaper to mow the lawn to create a chiping/putting area rather than installing an expensive synthetic green that will deteriorate with time
brilliant, well done, looks great, variation is important. I found it amazing that its possible to make even a rough lawn good enough for putting with a cheap mower. The only other tool that helped me enormously, was a roller. To be honest it made soooo much difference. Not only does it make it level enough to putt, also helps the cylinder mower cut. Good luck and well done
Great job and video! I had started a project like this in my backyard and you've given me some ideas. I don't have as much space but pitching and chipping are what I am after anyway. Could play some full swings with foam balls or Birdieballs. Glow balls at night would be a lot of fun too!!! Thanks for the video post!!!
Looking good dude. I'm working on something in my yard, still got a lot of work to do on it. One short video on my channel so far just showing it but not explaining much
Way to go, man :) I like the variety of options of how to play all the teeboxes and greens. Any upgrade plans? More bunkers, etc? I'm redoing all my tee boxes at the moment. Im getting them standardized and looking all the same size, new tee markers, and installing a hole#/yardage sign on each teebox :)
Can't see how you couldn't putt, just give it a bit more oomph than on a regular green. Modern golf sort of has us spoiled with perfectly landscaped fairways and manicured greens, when in the early days it was a a lot more basic. (A lot of greens were made of oiled sand or dirt, some still are in places.) Sort of why I got into using hickory clubs on my own DIY pasture course. The old clubs were designed for the rough and tumble nature, and even the putters have a little loft on them to kick the ball over the taller grass and make the hole.
it’d be dope if you were my neighbor, I have 1 par 3 hole in my front yard and I like your setup it has many different angles to hit from, but I’ve always wanted to tee off from my neighbors yards so I could play from different distances but I don’t know how they would feel about me hitting golf balls from their yard.
@@-kjlifestyle- you’re right just gotta build up the motivation to ask them. Question, is it physically hard to reel mow with that thing and how low does it cut? My grandpa told me they were hard to push but I just wanted something that I could cut the green with every other day and be gas efficient
@@phantomairsoft1 It is a decent amount of work. It doesn’t cut it “putting” low but low enough to know where the greens are. They sell ones that go really low but at that point your taking a lot more maintinence.
I will be coming out with a golf video in the near future just not at the home course unfortunately, I will be away for the year! It will be back better than ever next year!

Thanks so much 🏌♀⛳🌸💛
oh and a metre square of artificial grass saves the divots on the tee, saves moving tee boxes as often
Good stuff, you shd consider using callaway nerf balls & playing par 4s & doglegs etc...

Does the grass grow back pretty quickly after taking a divot on the tee box? Great job on the course.
Thanks! And it takes a few weeks. I don’t really water it at all just throw down some seeds
Nice! Wanna do this myself. How many acres do you have?
Just over 2!
I wanna come play

Definetly great to have the space! Maybe it’s worth the shot to ask them
