The Bonaventure class is one of my favorite designs. It’s a neat steppingstone between the NX class and the Constitution class.

I'm commending to get the algorithm started. The Bonaventure class is an unusual design but it was early in UFPs history.
With DSC being added with the Walker class starship. This class fits in as a refit to the older class with Connie tech.

Love, love, love this ship. It's such a compact design, but not in an unattractive way. Such a nimble little ship, which was probably pretty cozy to do some exploration with!

I loved this class since I saw it in ships of the line and it’s Eaglemoss model is also a personal favourite. I love the idea that starfleet is just desperate for new starships around this time which would help to explain why old MACO ships like the Franklin would receive a starfleet prefix and registry number just to help fill out the fleet.
If Star Trek Enterprise is ever revised through a movie, an animated reboot or a season five this class has to be in it.
I dont think it will ever be revised, but I do think a crossover ir 2 is possible, and Id love to see this class there!
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios I still have hope, I think the Earth-Romulan war arc needs to be told and there are fan who still want that show to be given a true ending.
Sadly, it wont happen, it's still the lowest rated and watched Trek Series of all time! No demand= Not Happening

excellent content! I stayed until the end waiting for a quote to SS Bonaventure that appeared in the classic animated series

Id like to think Federation President Johnathan Archer signed off on the Bonadventure.
If I have first time see this ship I do like the uncoventionel design with the integrated secundary hull. The compact look of this ship maked it much interest for me and as a step between NX refit, Dedalus and Costitution class it makes sence.

I should create some CG shots of the official Bonaventure ship (since I designed it).
It'd be great to see that! It's a really inventive design and fits in perfectly in the design lineage. I just bought the Eaglemoss model a couple months ago and it's a beauty.
Great narrative about the class you should write a book friend your story narratives are the best. Has for the class i don't like that big deflector dish in the front of the saucer section i would have put it under about the mid section of the saucer.
I wish I had time to write a book LOL If I did that, I wouldnt have time to make these videos ;)

It looks like an upgrade of the NX Captain Archer's Enterprise
This was an incredible video. Love the stories from lost eras. How would you suggest the Rockwell class fits into the timeline of the Bonaventure?
Now that's a beautiful ship. Still no Archer Class but she is nice. And with the proper paint scheme I might add! If I have any critique against her, it would be the saucer. I never cared for the flat vertical rim that was developed in the TMP or the reverse knife edge that came out with the Excelsior. This era should have the leading edge coming down at a 45. That would make the Bonaventure perfect. Great video as always.

Funny how you mention Alien tech not being intergrated easily. i mentioned much the same in my Rockwell video. have you considored covering some of those more Kelvin Style designs?
Sorry I dont often get to watch other TH-camr Videos :( This is my hobby and I have a Real Life job that demands much of my attention. Thats not to say I havent watched any of your videos, cause I have, and Im pretty sure I reported/ cancelled you on one of them :P But I have done some Kelvin Design starships but really, this entire comment is to simply say, WTF is a Rockwell Class, isnt that a fan design? LOL
I'm sorry. As I look at the forward sensor disk, I start having Star Blazers / Space Battleship Yamato vibes.
I feel I could see a warhawk starship captain yelling; "Fire The Wave Motion Gun!"
Love star blazers, especially the Andromeda class. And STO has the yamato class dreadnought a very clear reference to space battleship yamato.
The bonaventure was the name of Canada's only aircraft carrier, any connection between the two, in name?
Could be, I dont know, as there's no information on that... BUT Being Canadian, Id like to think so!
This is the first I’ve seen this vessel and it’s a great step between the NX and Constitution classes. I love the NX refit and lament that we didn’t see it in Enterprise season 5. That said the refit breaks the evolution for me going from NX to Bonaventure to Constitution. But I’m happy there are so many classes and different ships to muddy the design waters for me.
Well you cant view starship lineage so linear... 1 class, often times expands in to many classes with similarities only to be refined again in to a single design which in turn spawns many new designs again!
Well, originally, Bonaventure was one of the names tossed around for the NCC-1701, and in TAS episode "Time Trap" the USS Bonaventure was caught in the pocket universe, and Scotty remarked that it was the first ship to be equipped with warp drive.
Im sorry you're incorrect, Bonaventure was NEVER considered as a name for the 1701.

And this is a different Bonaventure then the one in Time Trap!
I have always like the streamlined saucer design with the Deflector dish embedded in the forward edge and the engineering/secondary hull extending out directly behind. It works.
The only improvement I would suggested is thickening the saucer and widening the shuttle bay. The only time it looked the right size was the internal shoot in TMP, but there was a rather whopping size discrepancy between the inside and outside!
I've a quick question for the King of Beta Canon: On Strange New Worlds' Enterprise there are three round lights on the forward edge of the saucer, what are they for?
My first thought was sensors, but the Sensor Domes are in the middle of the saucer section, top and bottom. In the Deep Space Nine episode Trials and Tribulations, the sensor sweeps of Kirk's Enterprise were on a sensor display on the bridge of the Defiant, both Duotronic sweeps were coming from the domes! So does anyone know what the lights are for?
Design wise and if we go with your beta canon, then it fits that it would eventually get upgraded with four nacelles and as lightly redesigned hull because it looks like the STO Gemini class, which is one of my favorite ships.
Well first, its not my beta canon, its simply beta canon from its inclusion in the Starships of the line calendar mixed with my imagination to get from point a to point b... Also, this class was created LONG before STOs Gemini Class came to exist, and I wouldnt be surprised if STOs designers took inspiration from it!

Well I dont make ships, I re-texture them using Photoshop and then import them in to Space Engine to create the footage!
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios you did the Archer class scout about two years ago. Do you still have the ship saved, if so what would it take to change the name and NCC number.
Well in the case of the Archer Class 3d model, the name and Reg Number is baked in to the actual model, and not a texture like most models I have, so I dont know!

The Bonaventure actually first appeared in the Star Trek Animated Series episode "The Time Trap". But this version is much better looking.

Theres a LOT of differences from the NX Class :P
The Bonaventure is a homage of the NX and is keeping the Archer name alive. As a single deck ship. It is a much more powerful version of the Miranda Class. Class such as the Akira and Luna class would return the spirit of both NX and Bonaventure.
Im sorry, but you are incorrect! 1 thing very clear in Beta Canon is that the Bonaventure Class started before the 23rd Century and as such, can not be more powerful than the Miranda Class! As to an homage to the NX Class, since its development commenced during the lifetime of that class, it would be impossible for it to be an homage to that class... Rather it is an extension of normal starship lineage
I thought the first Bonaventure was seen in TAS' "The Time Trap' or was that ship way before this class of ships development?

It possiblr the some of tue lower numbered consitution class ship like eagle ncc-950 and constelatiin 1017 could actually full built as bondavere class ship which later got refitted in to mk1 or mk2 consitution class ships? ships?
I doubt that, and nothing in canon supports that idea... Canon and Beta canon support the idea that the Constitution Class was a brand new, cutting edge class!

Alao what other older classes of starships fit roughtly tje size 250 to 290 that cluld of been converted to mk1 consitution class ships? Mayby sombra but that strange new worlds not tos?
Well registry numbers are not a valid source to determine age or construction of a vessel. And like I said Canon and Beta canon support the idea that the Constitution Class was a brand new, cutting edge class! Meaning NO class was ever converted!
That is not it if you watched TAS Animated series which means it is canon. That is an escort not a GSC.btw The real Bonnie(called by her crew) is an aircraft carrier. CVL 22.

I think the design language is way too close to the Constitution class for this thing to be from the 2180s. Nice looking ship though.
And yet it is, as the Designer for the Class from the Ship of Line Calendar, made clear! Thus it is!
What about the USS Bonaventure from the animated series!! This is the ship definitely deserves its own video too. In my opinion a way better looking ship than this thing!

With Discovery this class seems closer to cannon this could be a Connie styled update of the Walker class.
