I like it, always a sucker for the Miranda rollbar, if this ship was successful it would have been a huge tactical advantage for the Federation due to being so heavily armed with different weapon choices
Unfortunately James, that is not an easy or simple fix... Warp Cores generate HUGE amounts of energy, thus why only 1 is generally used in a starship... When you begin adding more, there is simply no where for the excess power to go... It would be like taking your cell phone, which is designed for 1 battery, adding a second one to run simultaneously and at best what you would do is completely fry your phone... Im terms of starships, you'd quickly cause a core breach!
I really miss this Probert/Jefferies style of design. I mean the designs we've been getting have been cool, but this will always be peak Starfleet design to me

So you're referring to the Klingon Fleet attack? That may not be possible as a) theres not a lot of info on it, besides the 1 sentence or two that Roddenberry wrote in his novelization of Star Trek: The Motion Picture and b) I need to have models of all the Klingon Ships to do it!
I've noticed a lot of Ulysses style designs crop up a lot in these Beta cannon. The Luna class followed it, and now the Longbow. I'm curious why that is. It's almost as popular as the Miranda style.
No it isnt, the Ulysses Class was from Starfleet Command Volume 2 and Klingon Academy but in 100s of thousands of comments on this channel, it's been mentioned only 3 times, and only recently. That's hardly almost as popular as the Miranda! Also Ulysses Style starships is not a thing... Either it's the Ulysses Class, OR it's another Class!
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios granted, the roll bar... mission pod, was a Miranda feature that carried over to several other models. I was mainly referring to the nacelles parallel with the secondary hull, and the primary hull above those. There's a 3rd design I've seen in the OS style but for the life of me, can't remember where I saw it. No matter, this design has staying power.
According to the older tech manuals I own (which pretate TNG and are probably older than the channel host), the items on the engine pylons and facing aft above the shuttle bay are long range sensors, fir listening in on enemy forces. The Miranda rollbar has the Megaphasers. These were only ever called pulse phasers in the DS9 tech manual, but since they were never used there, how would they know? In fact, the only time we EVER saw them fired was Wrath of Khan, and he had the power turned way down, so he could actually gloat over Kirk... and after Reliant's warp core was knocked out, they never fired at full power.
Sorry, you are incorrect on all accounts A) Im older than you (and most manuals) are unless you've been a Trek fan for 50 years or more as I have... Besides, age really has nothing to do with anything, which brings up my next point...B) Nothing you've said is really true! Your assumptions about the Wrath of Khan are not backed up in Canon or Beta Canon, which actually says the opposite of what you wish was true. In future, before commenting, do better research and not confine yourself to assumptions and 1 source! Take care
take off the phaser lances, keep the roll bar and the extra torpedo launcher. maybe add a few more standard phasers along the bottom of the secondary haul. it could be a fun ship. it looks cool
Given that this was unlikely to be deployed on 5yr missions, thus requiring less cargo capacity need, it would stand to reason that a second updated horizontal warp core could be added to this intimidating design. As to the Lance's, they could be switched out for an over & under pair of the proven mega phasers. All that it'd require is an additional mount. This is a bit of a nitpick, but if you pay any abide to the Roddenberry Rules of Starship design, which were seemingly followed by the production designers in regards to the Canon ships, then shouldn't the nacelles be oriented so that the grills have line of sight...? As always, it's a stellar video. :)
First, there is no such Roddenberry rule... This a myth created by Roddenberry himself when he and Franz Joseph got in to an argument over Gene using his starship designs in TMP. And the reason this becomes a myth, is because Roddenberry himself often broke the rule in designs he signed off for in TNG. You cant say theres a rule, and then not abide by it yourself... And no, the Production Designers didnt follow that supposed rule, see the USS Stargazer from TNG, who's nacelles ARE on their side! Second, you cant just add a second warp core. It would be like adding a second battery to your cell phone, it would simply burn it out, as there is no way to utilize the excess energy on a constant basis. Third, the Mega Phasers didnt work in this design to begin with, so you would be just swapping one problem for another! Lastly, all great dieas/ Comments/ suggestions, thank you for the support! Keep Trekkin'
If the Phasers were channeled through the warp reactor to achieve higher power output, couldn't they use the impulse reactors before the supplemental batteries kick in?
I know warp drive doesn't work the same as a thruster would, BUT, yet another design that looks like it'll flip itself over the first time warp is engaged. If anything, this thing will need a VERY wide for its size warp field.
I dont think it looks that way at all... And definitely you're thinking is just wrong given the mechanics of space, this isnt a car or plane you know lol
Each Mega Phaser Lance should have its own smaller horizontal warp core built into the housing. Probably crewed by its own engineering team and have its own matter/anti-matter supply, allowing for simultaneous firing.
Unfortunately Warp Cores dont work that way! You cant (generally) have any more than one functioning on a starship... The amount of Energy a Warp Core creates is simply TO large to bleed off by a Phaser Lance! IE it would be like you trying to power your phone directly from a Nuclear Reactor!
I wonder, what if they had equipped the ship with an extra warp core by extending the neck structure and adding more thickness and armoring around it, as well as making the impulse engine larger to cover it up? This way, there would be more power to allocate to all the different weapon systems, and, so long as the ship wasn't produced in massive numbers, the additional construction and maintenance cost of having a warship with 2 warp cores could be justified by having the asset be available when they might not need it instead of it not being available when they really did need something like it.
You cant just add a second warp core. It would be like adding a second battery to your cell phone, it would simply burn it out, as there is no way to utilize the excess energy on a constant basis.
The name of this class compels me to make an obscure joke almost no one will get: "The Longbow Class: The only Federation ship with a warp core powered by a stew made of corn, green pepper, chicken, (sigh) onions..."
An interesting, if not unique, kitbash design. One issue though, and just a personal opinion, is the addition of the Lance phasers. They seem way too overkill in terms of offensive capabilities and heavily against the Federation policy of not creating warships. To boot Starfleet engineers would have know the standard Warp cores (even the new ones) woyld not have the power or stability to power them. Starfleet wotld have been well aware of the power requirements for such weapons and would jot have deployed them like this with performing some form of trials. Starting out with equipping one and then seeing how it performed before just attaching two more. This class was doomed to fail right out of space Dock if they failed to account for power requirements for all weapons systems aboard the class. Almost like they wanted it to fail at that point.
Not at all, this is brand new technology! So testing it to discover its true limits is very different than theory on paper... This happens in real life ALL the time! See cell phones, computers, cars, airplanes etc etc making your ideas completely moot!
My question is: why should a kitbash-ship have a NX-Registry? doesn't make sense. also in-universe this ship would be build from approved and tested parts on a also preexisting spaceframe. so there would no experimental status necessary,
Incorrect on ALL accounts! First off, canon has shown us that the NX Registry is given to ANY class that is the first test subject for the line! SEE Excelsior, Prometheus etc etc.. So it makes absolute sense! Second, Your comment on "in-universe this ship would be build from approved and tested parts on a also preexisting spaceframe. so there would no experimental status necessary" is also untrue. If that were the case, then Starfleet would NEVER have technological breakthroughs or upgrade it's tech , as they will always NEED a test vessel for any new concepts or technology to prove it would work! Sorry, you've got nothing here!
You cant just add a second warp core. It would be like adding a second battery to your cell phone, it would simply burn it out, as there is no way to utilize the excess energy on a constant basis.
Well I like what you have done with the 3D model, but it's a little but USS "PewPew" for me. Possibly maybe a one-shot for if something as bad as the Borg were ever to be discovered in the late 2200's.
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios Hahaha, hell no if a large hostile ship was heading for Earth was the main part of my day I would not send ships with civilians to intercept...
No, it was dumb luck, something you can never count on, and that Starfleet corrected for its second encounter with the Borg at the Battle of Sector 001! The Federation would have been assimilated in that battle if you had been leader :P
Really starting to hate how just any Bob and Jane thinks they can just throw together two designs (in this case, Miranda and constitution) , add a few small pieces and call that a new class. No... it's lazy.
Odd, as it's ONLY you that's whining... In fact, all you're doing is trying to whine and complain on this channel. Says more about you then it does about me or the designs... Jealousy is shining through like a beacon in the night LOL Also, you tried to correct someones grammar in the comments, that goes against channel rules. Why? Because you dont like the design? It's severely short sighted to make such a statement, as advances even today come from Engineers, Designers etc willing to take chances even in the face of failure, or being called drug addicts!

Ahhh okay, sorry, thank you very much for your time. :D
And have a good day. :D@@TriAngulumAudioStudios
Oh No! It's a great Idea, I just dont know if it's possible! Ill have to do some research to find out :)
Take care
Kirk: Now that’s what I call a fiasco.
take off the phaser lances, keep the roll bar and the extra torpedo launcher. maybe add a few more standard phasers along the bottom of the secondary haul. it could be a fun ship. it looks cool
Have you ever done a video of old vs new warp scales?
Ive done multiple videos on the different warp scales under the series title of Trek Facts!
No, entirely different systems and not powerful enough compared to the Warp Core or the specially designed Phaser Batteries!
What source did you get the Longbow Class?
FASA
So that's where the culture of next Tuesday came from
The name of this class compels me to make an obscure joke almost no one will get: "The Longbow Class: The only Federation ship with a warp core powered by a stew made of corn, green pepper, chicken, (sigh) onions..."
Johnny Longbow? Lol
The USS Kitbash…
Alister Dwight Eisenhower warned the Federation about the military industrial complex in his speach of April 22, 2297.
Why are X Wing lasers on here? Actually looks decent, except the aft lance.
There arent, all the parts come from other Starfleet Starships, the Phaser Lance coming from a Miranda Class variant model!
Soo, it’s a kitbash of a Constitution and Miranda class
Strange… but cool !
No, it's far more than that!
But thanks! :p
Imagine if the reliant looked like this
The Enterprise would have been destroyed and the movie would have ended in the first half hour :P

Some of these designs are so just rearranged constitution kit.
There are no designs that are simply rearranged Connies!
Idk, maybe two warp cores😮
You cant just add a second warp core. It would be like adding a second battery to your cell phone, it would simply burn it out, as there is no way to utilize the excess energy on a constant basis.
Well I like what you have done with the 3D model, but it's a little but USS "PewPew" for me. Possibly maybe a one-shot for if something as bad as the Borg were ever to be discovered in the late 2200's.
LOL well thankfully you're not in charge of Starfleet Command then, as we'd quickly have another Wolf 359 tragedy if you were :P
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios Hahaha, hell no if a large hostile ship was heading for Earth was the main part of my day I would not send ships with civilians to intercept...
Yeah the tragedy would still happen as under your leadership, Starfleet would have no "Pew-Pew" ships, and unable to defend itself :P
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios haha, was it "Pew-Pew" that brought the Borg down at the end of Best of Both Worlds?
No, it was dumb luck, something you can never count on, and that Starfleet corrected for its second encounter with the Borg at the Battle of Sector 001! The Federation would have been assimilated in that battle if you had been leader :P
Just as well. It's kinda goofy looking. It's all about the look you know.
Not ALL about, but it is a BIG part of human nature!
Nah, sorry, i'm just not feeling it. That is an abominable kitbash!
Well there are certainly some interesting designs in Beta Canon LOL But you dont have to like it! Im just glad the majority does :)
Jealousy is shining through like a beacon in the night LOL
Also, you tried to correct someones grammar in the comments, that goes against channel rules. Your services are NOT desired, nor required as the Grammar police. So reign it in, get a grip and stop being an A$$. If you dont, you WILL be banned, and removed from this channel! This is your only warning! And PS, as an Acronym, they were correct in adding "the" in front of TNG.
The engineers are on Acid (LSD)
Why? Because you dont like the design? It's severely short sighted to make such a statement, as advances even today come from Engineers, Designers etc willing to take chances even in the face of failure, or being called drug addicts!
