I use a pair of X-T2's with the 56mm and 90mm for all my headshot work(along with 18-55 for group shots), but for almost everything else I use an X100s and teleconverter lens. I do a lot of 'online dating profile' shoots and the little X is perfect for that. It's small, light, unassuming and with the leaf shutter even speedlights work well against the sun. I am contemplating the F as a replacement partly for the face/eye auto focus and largely for the built in digital teleconverter. Sure you lose a few megapixels, but combined with the TCL you gain a 70mm focal length that is very good for tighter portraits.
I do use the TCL but it only gets you to a 50mm equivalent focal length. In order to reach a 70 or 100mm equivalent with the TCL you must also use the digital converter which does cost you pixels. From what I've seen this isn't an issue at the '70mm' point(50mm without TCL) because the X100F has enough pixels to spare. At the '100mm' equivalent(70mm without TCL) you've cut your pixel count in half and it begins to look noticeably cropped. On the original X100(12.3MP) or the S/T(16MP) the problem would be worse. (Of the 2 'digital teleconverter' setting, the first reduces the X100F to 16MP. This is the same resolution as my current X100S and wouldn't be an issue. The second, longer digital conversion, drops resolution to 12MP)

U wont loose pixels if u use the tcl or wcl.

@@jimmyhill9591 50mm for portrait is a nice focal lenght. So just the TCL so that there is no degrading the image quality and no lost pixel. Cheers!
TCL is 50mm but then with digital zoom you get the extra mm.
